About China 1

China 1 is a Chinese restaurant located at 373 N Willowbrook Rd, Coldwater, MI 49036, USA. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, China 1 can be contacted at (517) 279-9088 or via mobile at +1 517-279-9088 for inquiries or orders. Based on recent customer feedback available online, there appear to be contrasting opinions regarding the restaurant's quality and management.

One customer expressed a highly negative view of China 1, describing the place as "disgusting." This reviewer also raised concerns about the management of the restaurant, stating that it was being run by the owner's daughter, who they estimated to be under the age of ten, and that the owner was not present at the time of their visit. The customer expressed surprise that the restaurant was still open, implying significant issues with its operation and potentially its adherence to regulations or standards.

In stark contrast, another local customer with years of experience with China 1 reported consistently "above and beyond" customer service. This reviewer specifically highlighted the restaurant's willingness and ability to accommodate a gluten-free diet. They expressed excitement and satisfaction upon learning that China 1 could cater to their dietary needs, stating that it is "Gluten free safe" in their opinion. This suggests that China 1 may be particularly accommodating and knowledgeable regarding food allergies and dietary restrictions, which could be a significant benefit for customers with specific needs.

Considering these two recent reviews, there is a clear dichotomy in the experiences reported by customers of China 1. One review raises serious concerns about the cleanliness and management of the establishment, while the other praises the exceptional customer service and the ability to provide gluten-free options. This discrepancy makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of the restaurant based solely on these two accounts.

The negative review provides some insight into the environment, albeit critically, by describing it as "disgusting." This suggests potential issues with cleanliness or the overall condition of the premises. The mention of a young child seemingly managing the restaurant in the owner's absence also raises questions about the operational environment and supervision.

On the other hand, the positive review focuses on the service aspect, specifically highlighting the customer service as "always above and beyond" and commending the accommodation of a gluten-free diet. This indicates a willingness to cater to individual customer needs and potentially a knowledgeable staff regarding dietary restrictions. However, this review does not provide any details about the general ambiance or cleanliness of the restaurant itself.

A key feature of China 1, based on the positive review, is their ability to accommodate gluten-free dietary needs. This is a significant advantage for customers with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities, as finding restaurants that can safely and reliably cater to such restrictions can often be challenging. The willingness to adapt their menu or preparation methods to ensure gluten-free safety suggests a commitment to inclusivity and customer well-being.

The negative review, conversely, highlights a potentially significant negative feature: concerns about cleanliness and possibly the appropriateness of the management structure observed by the customer. If these concerns are widespread or ongoing, they could severely impact the dining experience and the restaurant's reputation.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers or special deals at China 1 in the provided reviews. Local users interested in trying the restaurant may want to contact them directly to inquire about their menu, any current promotions, and their policies or procedures regarding food safety and customer service, especially in light of the contrasting feedback received.

In conclusion, China 1 in Coldwater, MI, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While one customer reported significant concerns about the cleanliness and management, another praised the exceptional customer service and the availability of gluten-free options. Potential local users should be aware of these contrasting experiences when considering China 1. If dietary restrictions are a primary concern, the positive review suggests that the restaurant may be a safe and accommodating choice for gluten-free individuals. However, the serious allegations regarding cleanliness and management from another customer warrant caution and potentially further investigation or seeking more recent and comprehensive reviews before making a decision. It might be prudent to contact the restaurant directly to address any concerns and inquire about their standards and practices.

The place is disgusting and was being run by the owner's daughter, who seems to be under 10. The owner wasn't even at the restaurant. I have no idea how this place is still open.

I’ve been a local here for years and customer service is always above and beyond. I recently had to go on a Gluten free diet and thought I wouldn’t be able to find a restaurant that accommodates my needs but I was beyond excited when they told me that it was no problem! Gluten free safe in my book.

The food is ok, my mom really enjoys her order when we go but mine is usually soggy. The main reason this spot gets a low rating is their wildly disproportionate prices. It’s expensive enough that I usually decide between a nice dinner out at bills, or Chinese food. That’s crazy to me.

Stopped by and ordered food totalling $13.61 Owner allegedly had trouble with Credit Card Reader. Charged us twice for the order, and 3 days later still has not returned the amount charged. We were frustrated and didn't even want to purchase the food after our phone showed she charged us twice. Owner has poor broken english and cannot communicate. She acts ignorant, but judging from the reviews, is not. Pathetic way of doing business.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Hasn’t been updated since they have opened, dining areas ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING, was told 25 minutes & it took easily over 70 minutes. Mind you I was the only customer waiting. Doesn’t speak English, and prices were higher than she stated over the phone. STAND CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE.
