About Chili crab

Welcome to Chili Crab, an exceptional Chinese restaurant located at 1198 N Dixie Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432, USA. Chili Crab distinguishes itself by seamlessly blending the rich traditions of Asian cuisine with a focus on fresh, high-quality seafood. For those in South Florida seeking a distinctive dining experience that goes beyond typical Chinese fare, Chili Crab offers a compelling menu that has garnered high praise from some and mixed reactions from others. For reservations or inquiries, you can contact them at (561) 409-3131 or +1 561-409-3131.

According to one enthusiastic reviewer, Chili Crab is their "favorite restaurant in all of South Florida," a strong endorsement highlighting the restaurant's ability to impress even discerning palates. This reviewer, a self-proclaimed lover of both Asian cuisine and seafood, lauded Chili Crab for its flawless fusion of these two culinary concepts. This suggests that Chili Crab offers a unique approach to Chinese dining, emphasizing seafood in a way that sets it apart from more conventional establishments.

The reviewer specifically highlighted three "must-haves" on the menu, providing valuable insights into the restaurant's signature dishes. The first is the Dungeness crab in curry, recommended for those who enjoy spice. The mention of other equally amazing sauces suggests a variety of flavorful options for this particular dish, catering to different preferences. The second standout dish is the main lobster with garlic sauce, which the reviewer found so exceptional that it was an almost emotional experience. Finally, the crispy duck is described as "hands-down one of the best ducks I’ve ever had," a significant compliment coming from someone who hails from Chicago, a city known for its diverse and high-quality culinary scene, including a vibrant Chinatown.

This detailed praise from a seasoned food lover indicates that Chili Crab excels in creating dishes that are not only flavorful but also expertly prepared, using high-quality ingredients. The emphasis on dishes like Dungeness crab and main lobster suggests a commitment to offering premium seafood options that are not commonly found in typical Chinese restaurants.

The reviewer also provided valuable information about the dining experience at Chili Crab. They noted that it might not be ideal for those uncomfortable with getting a "little dirty" while eating, particularly when enjoying dishes like crab and lobster. To address this, the restaurant thoughtfully provides diners with plastic gloves, plastic bibs, and hand wipes, indicating an understanding of the potentially messy nature of enjoying fresh seafood and a commitment to customer comfort.

Regarding the environment, the decor is described as "unpretentious and Asian inspired," suggesting a comfortable and thematically appropriate setting without excessive formality. This could appeal to diners who prefer a relaxed atmosphere where the focus is primarily on the food and the company.

Chili Crab also offers a selection of beverages to complement their cuisine, including Asian beers and a "nice sake list." This indicates an effort to provide a well-rounded dining experience with drink options that pair well with Asian flavors and seafood.

The service at Chili Crab is described as "great," with a personal touch. The reviewer mentioned that the owner often greets guests at the door or ensures they had a good meal at the end, suggesting a commitment to customer satisfaction and a welcoming atmosphere. The unique feature of live seafood tanks, where customers can view and even select their crab or lobster, further enhances the dining experience, emphasizing freshness and transparency.

The reviewer acknowledged that Chili Crab is "not a cheap meal," positioning it as more of a special occasion or fine dining experience. However, they firmly believe that the quality of the food and the overall experience justify the price, stating that it is "downright amazing what they do." This suggests that while it may be an investment, the culinary creations and the dining experience offered at Chili Crab are exceptional and worth the cost for those seeking a memorable meal.

However, not all feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Another reviewer shared a less favorable experience, focusing on the Peking duck. They described it as "deep fried" and, while stating it "tasted okay," they felt it was "definitely not worth $60plus after tax and tip." This significant price point for a single dish that did not meet expectations raises concerns about the value proposition for certain menu items. The reviewer also offered a somewhat sweeping generalization, advising against eating Chinese food in Palm Beach County based on their experience.

This contrasting review highlights a potential inconsistency in the quality or perceived value of different dishes at Chili Crab. While the seafood-centric items received high praise, the preparation and pricing of the Peking duck were a significant disappointment for one customer.

Based on the available information, Chili Crab appears to be a Chinese restaurant that specializes in high-end Asian seafood dishes. Its standout features include fresh, live seafood, expertly prepared dishes like Dungeness crab in curry, main lobster with garlic sauce, and crispy duck, as well as a selection of Asian beverages. The service is generally well-regarded, with a personal touch from the owner. The ambiance is described as unpretentious and Asian-inspired.

However, potential diners should be aware that the prices are on the higher end, reflecting the premium ingredients and specialized cuisine. Additionally, feedback on non-seafood items, such as the Peking duck, suggests that the experience might vary depending on the dish ordered. While one reviewer had an exceptional experience, another found a particular dish to be overpriced and underwhelming.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Chili Crab based on these reviews. Given its positioning as a higher-end establishment, it is unclear whether they offer regular discounts or special offers.

In conclusion, Chili Crab in Boca Raton offers a unique and potentially exceptional dining experience for those who appreciate the fusion of Asian flavors with high-quality seafood. The rave review of their signature seafood dishes suggests a culinary prowess that sets them apart. However, the less favorable review of the Peking duck indicates that not all dishes may meet the same high standards or perceived value. Local users in Boca Raton and South Florida who are passionate about Asian seafood and are willing to indulge in a pricier meal might find Chili Crab to be a worthwhile experience. It is advisable to consider the specific dishes that have received the most positive feedback, such as the Dungeness crab and lobster preparations, when making a selection.

This is my favorite restaurant in all of South Florida. I am a lover of all things, Asian, and seafood. This place mixes both of these concepts flawlessly. There are three must haves on the menu. The Dungeness crab in curry, if you like it spicy, they have other sauces that are equally amazing. The main lobster and garlic sauce practically made me cry. The crispy duck is just hands-down one of the best ducks I’ve ever had. I’m from Chicago where we have amazing food in Chinatown and all over. This place takes the cake. It’s not for the faint of heart, if you’re not used to getting a little dirty while eating, this may not be your cup of tea. They supply you with plastic gloves, plastic bibs, and hand wipes. The decor is unpretentious and Asian inspired. They’ve got Asian beers and a nice sake list. The service is great, the owner will often greet you at the door or make sure you had a good meal at the end. You can see the live crabs and lobster and the tanks and even select one yourself. It’s not a cheap meal, but it is downright amazing what they do. I cannot speak highly enough about this place. If you haven’t tried it, drop everything and go now.

Celebrated with half a Peking duck. It seemed deep fried. Tasted okay, but definitely not worth $60plus after tax and tip. Server was nice. Just don't eat Chinese food in palm beach county... Just no.

We had such a fun and delicious experience at Chili Crab in Boca Raton! We ordered the dim sum combo, frog legs, gator, and duck—and everything was so good. The dim sum combo had a little bit of everything and was super fresh. The frog legs were tender and flavorful! The gator had this bold, crispy flavor that we loved, and the duck was rich and juicy with crispy skin—definitely one of the highlights of the lunch. The vibe of the place is great too—chill but still feels special. And the staff was really sweet and helpful, especially when we were asking a bunch of questions about the menu. If you’re looking to try something different (or just want really solid Chinese food), you’ve got to check this place out. I’m already planning to go back!

Good Chinese food with heavy from the sea menu. Thai chicken fried rice with basil was competent but chicken a little rubbery. Vegetable Goyza was descent and the spicy Chili chicken was excellent. Friendly service, modern Asian decor make this an enjoyable destination eatery.
