About Chi Dynasty

Chi Dynasty is a Chinese Restaurant located at 1813 Hillhurst Ave in Los Angeles, California. As a local Chinese restaurant, it offers a dining experience with a reported welcoming host and prompt service.

Customers have described the atmosphere as nice and clean. While some found the overall food quality to be decent rather than exceptional, certain dishes received specific praise. The Walnut Shrimps were highlighted as "extremely delicious," and the orange chicken was noted as good. However, the fried rice was mentioned as disappointing by one reviewer.

Another customer commented that while the food was generally good, it seemed to lack a certain strong flavor often associated with Asian cuisine. Despite this, they specifically recommended the fried rice and the butter pepper dish. This suggests that while there might be some variability in dish quality, certain items stand out.

Chi Dynasty can be contacted at (323) 667-3388 or +1 323-667-3388 for reservations or inquiries. Based on the reviews, it appears to be a pleasant establishment with attentive service and some noteworthy dishes. If you are in the Los Angeles area and looking for a Chinese restaurant, Chi Dynasty might be worth a visit, especially if you enjoy Walnut Shrimps or are interested in trying their fried rice and butter pepper.

A nice place with a very welcoming host. The food wasn’t amazing but it was decent. One dish that was extremely delicious was Walnut Shrimps. The orange chicken was good but the fried rice was disappointing. Might come back for the shrimps! 😁

Prompt service. Nice and clean atmosphere. Food was good but something were missing in the taste of dishes: maybe that strong flavorfullness common in Asian kitchens. I would highlight their fried rice and butter pepper, though.

Great food and great waiters. Ken and Alex are two of the coolest waiters I’ve ever met. They love football and make awesome drinks for me to chug. The sesame chicken and the butter pepper beef are no brainers here. They kick so much a$$. Can I say “a$$” on this platform? I hope so because I just said it. I go here several times per week. Get the Mai Tai or Espresso Martini for a good time.

We’ve been wanting to come here for a while and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, copious and very well priced! We have leftovers for at least one additional meal! The ambience was great, they sat us near the fish tank, and the service was easy and breezy. Totally going back. The butter pepper chicken was to die for

This place is always packed and it’s been around for forever, which is why I gave it two chances to be a diamond in the rough, or at least a neighborhood gem. Both times I’ve ordered take out from Chi Dynasty I’ve been thoroughly underwhelmed by the food. Rice is dry; noodles are inconsistently sauced with some completely dry and uncooked; mushy breading separates easily from chicken pieces and the orange sauce meant to dress it is gloopy and largely flavorless. The sauce on the Chi Noodles is similarly one note. Steamed vegetable dumplings stick to each other and tear, quickly falling apart. Scallion pancakes are weirdly dusty and soapy tasting, and also fall apart faster than a cheap croissant. The first time I thought they could have just been having an off night, but the second time has me convinced it’s just not very good. Save your time and go…anywhere else. The wings and fries at Ye Rustic Inn next door are a great option.
