About Cheung Hing Restaurant
Cheung Hing Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at 1235 E Calaveras Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, offering a wide array of Chinese dishes to the local community. As a Chinese restaurant, Cheung Hing aims to provide a diverse culinary experience with a focus on generous portions and a broad menu. They can be contacted at (408) 263-1888 or their mobile number +1 408-263-1888 for inquiries, reservations, or to place takeout orders.
The ambiance of Cheung Hing Restaurant is described as "elegant in comparison to others Chinese restaurants." This suggests that the restaurant strives to offer a more refined dining environment than typical Chinese eateries. However, this elegance is achieved with "inexpensive decors, lighting, table cloth (I think are disposable)." This indicates a focus on creating a pleasant atmosphere without necessarily incurring high costs, which could contribute to reasonable pricing. The seating appears to be comfortable, and the restaurant is noted to be large with ample seating capacity, making it suitable for both small and large groups.
In terms of services, Cheung Hing Restaurant is reported to have "very good and attentive" service. The staff is described as being helpful and responsive to customer needs. One minor challenge mentioned was a slight difficulty in understanding due to accent and the use of masks, which was a common factor during certain times. Despite this, the attentiveness of the service staff seems to be a positive aspect of the dining experience at Cheung Hing. The restaurant likely offers both dine-in and takeout services, given its nature as a full-service Chinese restaurant. The generous portions, often meant for sharing, also suggest that they are well-equipped to handle group orders and leftovers for customers to take home.
A significant feature of Cheung Hing Restaurant is its "very extensive menu with so many Dishes that you can’t find in other Chinese restaurant." This suggests a commitment to offering a wider variety of less common Chinese culinary options, which could appeal to adventurous eaters or those seeking specific regional dishes. The standard dishes ordered by one reviewer provide some insight into their offerings: potstickers (pork) were noted to be large with six in a portion, the chicken mu shu was very generous as an appetizer (though extra sauce was recommended), the beef chow mein had a lot of noodles but a small portion of beef and few vegetables, and the honey-walnut prawns were good but lacked sufficient sauce. These observations highlight the variability in the dishes and the potential need for customers to specify preferences, such as extra sauce or a balance of ingredients.
Another key feature of Cheung Hing Restaurant is the "very generous" portion sizes, which are often intended for sharing, and the "reasonable" prices. This combination of large servings and affordable costs makes it a potentially attractive option for families or groups looking for value. The reviewer who ordered multiple dishes noted that most of the dishes are for sharing unless one has a very large appetite or plans to take leftovers home, reinforcing the generous portion sizes.
A notable positive experience was the complimentary mango pudding offered to the reviewer's table, seemingly by the manager. This "unexpected surprise" and "very nice touch" indicates a commitment to customer satisfaction and a willingness to go the extra mile to create a positive dining experience. Such gestures can significantly enhance a customer's perception of the restaurant and foster goodwill.
Specific dishes that received high praise in another review include the "lobster noodle, roasted duck, sauté Asian eggplant and beef Asian broccoli," which were described as "wonderful!!!" This positive feedback on specific items suggests that Cheung Hing Restaurant has some standout dishes that are particularly well-received by customers. The reviewer also reiterated that the portions were "huge," consistent with the other feedback on portion sizes.

The food wasn’t bad but wasn’t good also I’m have same issues to describe it. Because every restaurant and every chef have his own style but in this one particularly the food was in the dry side and that it’s was makes the difference. They have a very extensive menu with so many Dishes that you can’t find in other Chinese restaurant. Portion are very generous (to share) and price are reasonable. We ordered: potstickers (pork) they are big and 6 in the portion, chicken mu shu very generous for an appetizer ( you need to ask for extra sauce) ,beef chow main a lot of noodles almost no veggies and small portion of beef and honey-walnut prawns good but almost no sauce. We appreciate very much the mango pudding that was on the house, I think was the manager arrived to ours table with the dessert and was an unexpected surprise, very nice touch. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. The service was very good and attentive just a bite difficult to understand for the accent and mask. The ambience looks elegant in comparison to others Chinese restaurants but using inexpensive decors , lighting, table cloth ( I think are disposable) , chairs are confortable also it’s a big restaurant they have a lot of seating. If you like to give a change remember, most of the dish’s are for share unless you have a big appetite or like to take home the leftover.
The lobster noodle, roasted duck, sauté Asian eggplant and beef Asian broccoli were wonderful!!! Annnd the portions were huge!
It’s father’s day and my family wanted to take me to a different dimsum restaurant, so we went to this establishment in Milpitas, about 17 miles from our home. It’s in a shopping center with limited parking spaces due to many businesses. Luckily we found a parking spot. Lots of people were waiting outside but we got to sit right away, may be it’s only 4. The table was quite small, typically for 4. The place is big and I noticed there were no dimsum carts. The service wasn’t very good because one server was running with many tables. Anyhow, we still got our ice water (without ice) and our tea. We had to mark what we wanted on the menu with a pen. After that we gave to our server and he printed out an order stapled to the menu. Now, if you have a lot of time, you may like this place because every dish is trickling to your table every 5-10 minutes. We ate and waited for the next one. So for us it’s a total turn off. The food is not bad although the portions are bigger than our favorite Harbor Bay Village Seafood in Newark, but we still prefer our favorite place. Every dishes are tasty except for the tripes were tasteless. My daughter favorite dish and she only had one bite. I had to finish it because we don’t waste food and it’s not nice to return it. The prices are comparable to other restaurants so nothing to say here. The service and food delivery were subpar. We got 2 of the same dish delivered and one was taken off because of their mistake, all in Chinese so we can’t see which one is which until the all the names on our order was crossed out then we realized our last order was replaced by the duplicates. Will we come back here again? The logic is why would we drive 17 miles to have ok food, ok prices, not ok services while our favorite place is 3 miles from home. The answer is NO although my kids like the bigger portions.
Had an amazing dining experience here. Friendly service. Very hygienic. Delicious food. Every single dish we ordered was divine and freshly made. 100% recommendable! A dessert was given to us on the house - made with coconut milk - not too sweet, but absolutely perfect! Every single staff member made our dining experience so wonderful. Definitely going there again.. and again!
Food was good, and reasonably priced. Parking wasn’t too bad, and service was nice. Bathrooms were clean, which is always a good sign. The only slight disappointment was that there wasn’t a lot of dim sum carts, and we had to order from the menu
