About Chengdu Taste Seattle

Welcome to Chengdu Taste Seattle, your local destination for an authentic Sichuan culinary experience. Located on the King Street side at 504 5th Ave S Ste 106, Seattle, WA 98104, USA, our Chinese Restaurant is garnering rave reviews for its bold and flavorful dishes.

You can reach us at (206) 333-0457 or our mobile number +1 206-333-0457 to inquire about our menu or make a reservation. Be prepared for a truly Sichuan experience, as our food is known for its significant spice levels.

A standout dish frequently mentioned by our customers is the spring onion chicken in pepper sauce. Unlike the traditional presentation where the sauce is limited, at Chengdu Taste, the chicken is generously "drowned" in the flavorful and numbing pepper sauce, which many diners enjoy so much they use it to enhance other dishes as well.

Another highly recommended item is the cumin lamb on toothpicks, praised for its perfect tenderness, chewiness, and intense flavor. It's considered a must-try for those who appreciate cumin lamb.

The boiled fish offers a different, yet pleasant, element to the meal, often serving to balance the spiciness of other dishes. While the spicy popcorn chicken received a more mixed review, it was acknowledged for its seemingly high quality, though one diner preferred a different style of oily spiciness.

Overall, Chengdu Taste Seattle comes highly recommended for those seeking genuine Sichuan flavors. Be aware that the spice levels can be intense, with even a level 2 mapo tofu offering a significant amount of Sichuan heat. The mapo tofu, in particular, has been noted for its rare depth of flavor. The mung bean noodles were described as fun but somewhat lacking in flavor, while the fried rice was well-received.

If you are a fan of spicy food and are looking to explore the authentic tastes of Sichuan cuisine, Chengdu Taste Seattle is a restaurant you should definitely consider visiting.

The sichuan food here had us all craving more. I loved the notes of numbing pepper in every dish. The standout dish for us was the spring onion chicken in pepper sauce. While traditionally, the sauce is used as a dipping sauce and there is always never enough for the amount of chicken served, this restaurant flips that notion on its head and serves the chicken drowned in the sauce and I love it. There’s numbing pepper in here as well and we found ourselves adding this oil/sauce onto almost every other dish. The cumin lamb on toothpicks were perfectly tender and chewy and so so flavorful. Definitely a must try if you love cumin lamb. The boiled fish was a bit different than I expected but it was a pleasant dish to round out the spiciness of everything else. I wasn’t a huge fan of the spicy popcorn chicken but it definitely had an aura of better quality. I personally preferred the oily spiciness in the way that other sichuan restaurants do it. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant. Can’t wait to take my friends and family here

Beware that this place is SPICY! The food is really good if you can stomach it. The spice is rated out of 5, and the mapo tofu was a 2 and it was just the right amount of sichuan heat. The depth of flavor is really rare from my experience with mapo tofu - this place did not disappoint. The mung bean noodles were fun but kind of lacked flavor overall. Fried rice was legit. Would love to try other things on the menu.

The Lao Chengdu spicy lamb and garlic short ribs were delicious. The surprises were the gridded beef with mixed vegetables and King pao shrimps, which was incredibly good. Cant get better than this!!! 5 stars!!

The takeout I ordered included a portion of stir-fried pork, which was the worst I've ever had. Not only was it bad tasting, but it was also full of fatty meat. And for the 爆炒鸡脆骨, it was just potato chips and deep-fried chicken breast.

My favorite Sichuan restaurant in Seattle. Love coming here for date nights or with large groups. We always try new dishes and some of our favorites include the mung bean jelly noodles, mapo tofu, toothpick lamb with cumin, and the pork hock.
