Cheng Chen Chinese Restaurant

I have been visiting this place for 15+ years since moving to the area, and i’m really surprised to see so many negative reviews. They are always extremely friendly, they are very accommodating with special requests, and they prepare everything quite quickly. A few years back there was a change in the prices I would say they went up about 15% but so did groceries, so I wasn’t shocked. In fact, if you look at other Chinese restaurants in the area, they’re not much more at all. Tonight we got our usual Chinese meal order, which is double happiness which is The chicken and shrimp with vegetables in a brown sauce, which as usual was very good.

My job ordered catering from this place, I was skeptical about eating food from other places, I didn't know because not everyone food taste the same, but this place did it! The Lo Mein was good and flavorful. I haven't had a good Lo Mein in years because they were either over cooked or the texture was off w/o flavor. Now I found a nice Chinese restaurant to come to when I come to this area.

I called this restaurant for delivery and they said I will have to come pick it up because I didn’t tip last time they have it on record 😂 What is joke? If you’re seeing this review just go cook Baby don’t order no Chinese food, especially from this restaurant.

I ordered delivery and provided my card details for payment over the phone. Not only is delivery paid, the courier began demanding tips at the door, when I refused him, he told me not to order delivery anymore and to go pick it up myself. Teach your couriers to communicate with customers and not beg, they are the face of your restaurant. And if they express the position of your management, then increase the cost of delivery and pay them enough, tips are always at the discretion of the buyer.

They raise prices every 2-3 months its a bit ridiculous, 5-10% per item. Any time I order off an old menu, I'm shocked to see the new one that comes has increased across all items. Even when you order ONLINE, they call you then change the price. Update your stupid website then. On top of that, the food is just barely acceptable. Too bad its one of the only places in the area that deliver, so its a last resort. Avoid if you're able to.
