Chen's Family Restaurant

My husband and I had dinner at Chen’s Saturday and brought home food for my daughter. Hot and sour soup, shrimp rolls, sesame chicken, hunan beef and crab rangun were all delicious! Clean, great service, great portions. Highly recommend!

Excellent food and friendly service. The General Tso's chicken at Chen's was perfectly sauced, a little sweet, a little sour, and a little spicy without being too salty. What a great flavor profile! The chicken was crispy and moist. And the lunch portion was just the right size. The fried rice was still moist and not overwhelmed with carrots and peas. I also ordered an egg roll, which was one of the best I have had in a long time. It was crunchy, crisp and hot with the perfect amount of filling to wrapper. My companion ordered beef with vegetables. It looked delicious as well. The space was delightful - it reminded me very much of a favorite Chinese restaurant on the west Coast. The dining room was immaculate! I loved the decorations and the tables were fun too. Service was fast and friendly. The young woman at the counter greeted us when we came in. We found a table and there was no wait to get drinks and order. Judging from the number of carry out orders going out the door, Chen's has a strong local following. I'll definitely be back.

Having just moved to the Statham/Winder area, we thought there wouldn’t be a lot of places we could frequent for dining out. I was hesitant to try Chen’s family because nobody was there and the building itself is rather unassuming. I have to say though, I’m glad I did. There’s not much to the dining area even though it is really clean. They were very friendly and served my food promptly with a smile. The reason it was empty was because most of their business (at least on a Sunday night) was take out. Even though they had a ton of orders and several pick ups, I still had great service! The food was very reasonably priced and probably one of the top 3 best tasting Chinese I’ve had. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because it was a bit warm in the dining room for an optimal experience. If you’re passing through the area it’s just a short detour off the beaten path. We will definitely make this a new favorite!

Prompt and attentive in-person service. Our first time trying this restaurant. Food presented well and taste okay! We are new to the area and have noticed many of the specialty restaurants taste a little different. But that is not a bad thing, just maybe they appeal to the taste of folks in this area! Anyway, we added a little more duck and slight but of soy sauce and the bland tasting noodles and rice were better for us. Most importantly, the customer service was good and the food was fresh. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. Thank you for your service.

I love the Egg Drop Soup and Crab Rangoons here. The staff is always friendly, food is hot and ready when I get there. Tonight (Sat), I wanted this exactly and went there at 9:10pm; and they were CLOSED! I hope they are able to update their hours on their website so no one else gets disappointed. I had to drive to Panda Express and pay a fortune lolol 😂 for something else.
