About Chen's Chinese Restaurant

Chen's Chinese Restaurant is located at 9810 Two Notch Rd #4L in Columbia, South Carolina, and operates within the Chinese Restaurant platform category, offering Chinese cuisine to the local community. Based on recent customer reviews, Chen's appears to be a takeout-only establishment with a focus on providing freshly prepared food, though experiences regarding order accuracy and the quality of certain dishes upon reheating have varied.

One customer shared their first-time experience at Chen's, noting that they "enjoyed this experience." Their order included honey wings with chicken fried rice (with an added egg) and 10 cut wings. While they noted that their chicken fried rice did not contain the extra egg they ordered, they were not overly concerned due to the minimal cost. This suggests a minor issue with order accuracy. However, they found both the honey wings and the chicken fried rice to be "really good," and the food was described as "fresh and tasty," indicating a positive initial impression of the food quality.

The same customer had a less favorable experience with the 10 cut wings, which they saved for the next morning. They reported that these wings "turned very rubbery" and were "not good at all" upon reheating, despite having refrigerated them. This suggests that while the food may be enjoyable when freshly prepared, certain items might not maintain their quality well when saved for later, even under refrigeration. The customer speculated that the wings might have been great if eaten immediately but would not recommend saving them for the next day. They also mentioned that their total order cost $30.00, which they felt was "a bit much" for the items ordered, though they expressed a willingness to return and try a different dish, and they found the staff to be "nice." This indicates a mixed experience with positive aspects (taste and freshness of some items, friendly staff) balanced with negatives (order inaccuracy, poor reheating quality of wings, perceived higher price).

Another customer shared their repeated experiences at Chen's, stating, "This is our third time eating here, all with the same experience. The food has always tasted fine." This suggests a level of consistency in the taste of the food that this customer appreciates. They mentioned that their children consistently order fried rice, which they enjoy. This implies that the fried rice is a reliable and well-received dish. The adults in their party have varied their orders each time and found them to be "good" as well, indicating a potentially diverse menu with satisfactory quality across different items.

This reviewer also provided details about the service process. Their pictured order took 15 minutes to prepare, and they received a call informing them it was ready for pickup. Importantly, they noted that Chen's currently allows only one customer inside the restaurant at a time and operates on a "pick up only" basis, with a "masks required" policy for customers entering. This provides valuable information about the current service model and environment of Chen's Chinese Restaurant, emphasizing a focus on takeout while adhering to safety protocols. The fact that this customer stated, "We will continue to eat here," indicates a high level of satisfaction with their overall experiences, despite the takeout-only and mask requirements.

As a Chinese restaurant in Columbia, SC, Chen's likely offers a range of other popular Chinese-American dishes in addition to honey wings, chicken fried rice, and the fried rice their children enjoy. These might include various types of lo mein and chow mein, other chicken, beef, pork, and seafood entrees prepared with different sauces and vegetables, as well as appetizers like egg rolls and spring rolls, and soups. The mention of "fresh and tasty" food by one reviewer suggests a focus on using quality ingredients and preparing dishes to order.

The environment of Chen's Chinese Restaurant, based on the second review, is currently limited to a pickup-only service model with a restriction of one customer inside at a time and a mask requirement. This indicates a focus on efficient takeout service while prioritizing safety during the current circumstances. There is no information provided about a traditional dine-in area, so it is likely that the restaurant primarily caters to customers taking their food to go.

The services offered by Chen's appear to be primarily focused on takeout. Customers can place orders (presumably by phone, given the call mentioned for order readiness), and the food is prepared relatively quickly (15 minutes for one order). The staff is described as "nice" by one reviewer, suggesting a positive interaction during the ordering or pickup process. The consistent food quality experienced by a repeat customer is also a significant service aspect.

The features of Chen's Chinese Restaurant include freshly prepared and tasty food (for certain items), a quick turnaround time for orders, and friendly staff. They offer a takeout-only service with specific protocols in place (one customer at a time, masks required). However, there are potential drawbacks such as minor order inaccuracies (missing egg in fried rice), the possibility of some dishes (like the 10 cut wings) not reheating well, and a perception of slightly higher pricing by one customer.

There is no information provided in the reviews regarding any specific promotional offers or discounts at Chen's Chinese Restaurant. To inquire about their full menu, hours of operation, and any current promotions, local users in Columbia, SC, can contact them directly at (803) 699-6500 or +1 803-699-6500. Visiting their location at 9810 Two Notch Rd #4L, Columbia, SC 29223, USA, would allow customers to place orders in person and potentially view any posted information about their offerings and policies.

For local users in Columbia, SC, Chen's Chinese Restaurant presents itself as a takeout-focused establishment with generally well-received food that is prepared fresh and quickly. Repeat customers have experienced consistent quality. However, potential customers should be aware of the possibility of minor order inaccuracies and the fact that some items may not maintain their quality upon reheating. The current service model involves strict takeout protocols (one customer in at a time, masks required). The pricing was perceived as slightly high by one reviewer, which is also a factor to consider.

In conclusion, Chen's Chinese Restaurant in Columbia, SC, offers a convenient takeout option with a reputation for tasty and freshly prepared food, though with some potential inconsistencies in order accuracy and reheating quality for certain items. The service is characterized by a quick turnaround and friendly staff, operating under a takeout-only model with specific safety guidelines. Local users seeking Chinese food for takeout may find Chen's to be a satisfactory option, keeping in mind the reported experiences.

I enjoyed this expierence. This was my first time eating there. I ordered some honey wings with chicken fried rice add egg. When i got my food there wasn’t any egg in the rice i didn’t trip because it was only a extra 1$. I also ordered 10 cut wings. The honey wings and chicken fried rice was really good . Food was fresh and tasty. I saved the regular winga for the next morning. Those wings were not good. I have refrigerated other places and ate the next day however these turned very rubbery. They were not good at all. I believe they may have been great had i ate them the minute i ordered them but saving for next day i wouldn’t recommend. Also my food was 30.00 i think that was a bit much for wings and chicken fried rice and 10 cutt wings, however I would attend again and try a different dish. The staff was nice .

This is our third time eating here, all with the same experience. The food has always tasted fine. My kids get their fried rice each time. My husband and I change what we get each time, and it’s been good. This order pictured took 15 minutes and they called to tell me it was ready. They allow one customer in the restaurant at a time, and it is pick up only-masks required. We will continue to eat here.

The Restaurant: 10 Stars 🌟 Cleanliness: 10 Stars 🌟 For me being a 1st time customer.... 20 Stars! The food is Hot 🔥 & Fresh! Since, the 1st two were on point! I am VERY critical when it comes to choosing a Chinese restaurant because, if it doesn't look right, or taste right after 2 bites, I'll either throw it in the trash, or call and give it to my homegirl. That's because, I would be like: That don't taste like chicken or that don't taste like beef.... BUT, This restaurant I am happy to say... "That Won't be happening!" I L❤️VE it!!! Soooo... if you are a Critic like me, Look No further! I've done the hard work for you. Best I've been too, since Chinese American which is too far for me now. Now, I have a place close to my new home! I'm Good! ❤️ Come thru! 🌟

Idk what happened, maybe they have new ownership… everything lacked seasoning. And the rice was fresh, everyone knows the best fried rice is made from day old white rice. Chicken was bland, and should’ve been fried longer.
