Chef Tan Highland Park

Absolutely the most authentic Chinese food. I’ve tried so far in America. I loved the dishes here. We ordered so much food we could barely finish everything. While I would say the serving portions aren’t a lot it is still so worth it. The desserts were amazing too. My favorite is the rice 年糕. This place is a solid 10/10 if I lived in the area, I would definitely eat here every week. The 包菜 was so good; my friend and I finished the plate clean. The chicken we got was perfect too so crispy, spicy and just the right seasonings. There is streetside parking and it is free if you plan on coming here. The design of the restaurant is very nice as well a lot of cultural decorations here and there. Overall, good vibes. The waiters do seem pretty busy so you won’t be getting amazing service, but the food is so worth it.

I was recommended to this restaurant and I gotta say from the moment we went in it was such a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was beautiful, relaxing and the temperature was perfect not freezing clod or hot. The workers welcome you with a smile and are very kind and professional. The food we ordered was delicious! I was craving noodles so I ordered a lo mein, and a beef scallion, my friend ordered the eggrolls, the eggplant dish and we also had jasmine green tea. We got rice with our order and water. Everything came out to about $60 with tips. Definitely returning!

The place is not too large, not too small, just very cozy. The food is very nice, especially the Beijing roast duck,They have their own oven to cook the duck, It is very authentic, Our layers is very crisp and inside is juicy and the Beijing roast duck sauce is also very authentic. Probably a little bit oily for the people who are not very familiar with Chinese food. But I can say that it is exactly what I had in Beijing. It tastes like home. The price is a bit high, but it totally worth it. you need to make reservations for the roast duck.

Amazing experience, best chinese food I've had in New Jersey in all 25 years of my life living here. Called ahead of time to order Beijing Peking Duck, and it was ready as soon as we arrived They also have great entres in general, like the exploding chicken, their sauteed veggies, and more.
