One reviewer, identifying as Asian, was "really surprised by the low rating" they observed for this restaurant, stating, "Take it from an Asian that this is a fantastic restaurant." They highlighted "Many dishes to choose from" and a "very good" time to the first dish despite a busy evening. They also mentioned "2 huge menus; one for those who love spicy dishes, one for regular folks like myself," and advised not to "skip" the dishes on the very last page without photos.
Another reviewer noted "wok hey in their cooking" and predicted their fried dishes would be good. They had the "Peking duck 2 ways," choosing the "stir fried version with ginger and green onions" for the bones. They enjoyed the "duck was carved by the table side" as "good entertainment" with "Very skillful carving" and "Almost every piece has skin on it." They opted for the "usual thin skin instead of the buns" and found the "Sauce for the Peking duck was good too." They mentioned that ideally, this dish can be served 3 ways: skin only, meat only, and the bones.
Other dishes praised by this reviewer include the "tasty" Japanese tofu clay pot and the "simple yau choy with garlic" which is "full of wok hey," though they felt "The vegetables could have been cut smaller." They also found their version of "walnut shrimp" to be "perfect" (not too sweet, with big, bouncy shrimp that doesn't taste of sodium bicarbonate) and the "seafood soup with fish maw" to be "Again tasty and well balanced." This reviewer concluded, "Every dish was good. I would recommend chef's house Peking duck to anyone in the area. Best if you have a party of 4 or more."
Another customer who visited on a Thursday night at 8:30 PM experienced a "waited about 20-30 min for our food" due to "several big party." They reported the "Food came out so good as always," ordering the "intestine with Chef House Sause (it’s crunchy and the sauce made it SO GOOD)" and "Peking Duck Half Hong Kong Style (not the Peking style- which is not as good to me)." They prefer their food "full of flavors" and noted that individual dishes are "about $19-$26 on the Menu- except the higher end one," with a "Total dinner for my husband and I is about $40-$50 (which js not bad)." They also mentioned to "Bring cash for Cash discount when check out."

This is a place that my sister and her family and friends would visit regularly. I was really surprised by the low rating. Take it from an Asian that this is a fantastic restaurant. Many dishes to choose from and time to first dish was very good despite a busy evening. Yes - 2 huge menus; one for those who love spicy dishes, one for regular folks like myself. On the very last page, there are dishes at the bottom of the page without photos. Don't skip them. Overall, there's wok hey in their cooking so I'm willing to bet their fried dishes will be good. Like everyone else, we had the Peking duck 2 ways. For the bones, we picked the stir fried version with ginger and green onions. The duck was carved by the table side and that's some good entertainment. Very skillful carving. Almost every piece has skin on it. We opted for the usual thin skin instead of the buns because we had other dishes. Sauce for the Peking duck was good too. Ideally, this dish can be served 3 ways. Skin only, meat only, and the bones. The Japanese tofu clay pot is tasty. The simple yau choy with garlic is full of wok hey. The vegetables could have been cut smaller. I thought the stalks were too big. Their version of walnut shrimp is perfect for me. I've tasted many versions of this dish. Most are too sweet for me. The shrimps are big and bouncy and doesn't taste of sodium bicarbonate (secret of bouncy shrimps). The last dish we ordered was the seafood soup with fish maw. Again tasty and well balanced. Every dish was good. I would recommend chef's house Peking duck to anyone in the area. Best if you have a party of 4 or more.
Came in Thursday night at 8:30 pm - waited about 20-30 min for our food- they had several big party. Food came out so good as always- I ordered the intestine with Chef House Sause (it’s crunchy and the sauce made it SO GOOD) and Peking Duck Half Hong Kong Style (not the Peking style- which is not as good to me) I like my food full of flavors. Each dish is about $19-$26 on the Menu- except the higher end one. Total dinner for my husband and I is about $40-$50 (which js not bad) Bring cash for Cash discount when check out
We recently dined at Chef's House - Peking Duck and while the food was good, it fell short of excellence. The restaurant boasts a pleasant exterior and a nicely decorated interior, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, the service was a significant letdown. Despite ordering a large quantity of food and spending a substantial amount of money, the servers rarely checked on us. The famous Peking duck, though well-prepared, was a bit too fatty for our liking. On a positive note, they offered complimentary egg custard desserts, which were a nice touch. Overall, we were somewhat disappointed, mainly due to the lackluster service. We hope to see improvements in service on our next visit. Rating: ★★★☆☆
I had a nice time here with my parents! We ordered a lot, and the portions were just right. The food was cooked to perfection and was very tasty! Our waiter was very nice, and he made some great recommendations. When I ordered the pork intestines, he had to make sure I knew what I was getting myself into since I don’t look like the type to eat it 😂 He checked in on our table a lot to make sure we were enjoying everything which we were. Another customer came to our table to see if we liked the food too. Everyone was so nice and welcoming to us, and it makes trying different cuisines very rewarding!
Pretty amazing place if you want some real authentic food. We had a separate room and ordered various items. Service was amazing. The duck was really good. The most impressive dish was the tofu. Super soft and amazing taste and texture. Dishes are large enough if you are not to hungry and want to share a plate with 2 folks.
