Customer reviews for Chef Chan’s the Original present contrasting experiences. One customer reported a very positive experience, noting that the food was very good and of good quality, complemented by fast and courteous service. This customer specifically enjoyed the Happy Family lunch special.

However, another recent review shared a less favorable experience with the lunch menu. This customer ordered the General Tso chicken, noting that while the sauce had a good taste, the chicken and rice were barely warm, and the egg roll was cold. They also mentioned receiving a very small portion of soup, although they did find the taste of the soup to be good. This customer expressed disappointment with the staff's indifference when they brought these issues to their attention. Ultimately, this experience led the customer to purchase a second lunch elsewhere and to advise others to avoid the restaurant. Additionally, they highlighted the high price of a canned Diet Coke.

Based on these reviews, Chef Chan’s the Original appears to offer dishes that can be well-received, as indicated by the positive feedback on the Happy Family lunch special. However, there are also reports of issues with food temperature, portion sizes for certain items like soup, and a lack of attentiveness from the staff when concerns are raised. The pricing of beverages may also be a point of consideration for some customers.

Local users considering Chef Chan’s the Original should be aware of these differing recent experiences. For the most accurate information on their current menu and any promotions, contacting the restaurant directly is recommended.

Lunch menu. General Tso chicken. Sauce taste was good but the chicken was barely warm, as was the rice. And the egg roll was cold. Accompanied by the smallest bowl of soup I’ve ever had at a Chinese restaurant. But would say the soup tasted good. Just small. Mentioned this review to staff and they were totally indifferent. Went and bought a sandwich a few shops down and was disappointed enough I came back and showed them that I had to go and buy another lunch. Avoid. And $3 for a can of Diet Coke … seriously?

I'll preface this by saying I am very picky when it comes to Chinese food, sonce I lived in Asia for several years (Japan and South Korea). I stopped in on a whim around 2pm for a late lunch. I was pleased to see their lunch special hours stopped at 2:30pm, which worked well for me. I ordered the orange chicken with fried rice, egg drop soup, and a pork egg roll with water to drink. The egg drop soup was simple but had a great flavor to it. No veggies in it... just the egg and "soup", but really good. The pork egg roll was pretty good, but not amazing. I really liked the orange chicken. The typical Americanized version usually involves some heavy, sticky red or orange sauce that looks like it would glow in the dark. Not here. The sauce was cooked into the chicken, and there was a bit extra on the plate. The way it tasted, you really didn't need to "dunk" the chicken. They were good the way they were. There were also bits of real orange slices that were cooked in, as well as a pepper for a little bit of flair. The chicken itself was good quality (see pic) and done right. Not dry or overcooked. The rice was good, but again, not over the top. The staff was very prompt and courteous, and I felt like everything was done thoughtfully and quickly. I definitely want to come back at the beginning of their lunch special time to see if it's even better than today. I'm also coming back to try other things on the menu. I can't vouch for their whole.menu, but give them a shot if you are looking for a good lunch.

The renovations at this Chinese restaurant are amazing! The place feels so much brighter and more inviting now, with a great mix of modern touches and traditional charm. It’s a perfect spot whether you’re dining with family or just grabbing a meal with friends. And the food? Absolutely delicious! The Sha Cha Beef is packed with flavor—the sauce is so good, I couldn’t get enough. The Curry Chicken is another standout, with just the right amount of spice and a creamy, comforting texture. The staff was super friendly, and the whole experience was fantastic. If you haven’t been here in a while, you’ve got to check it out. You’ll love it!
