About Chee Peng Chinese Restaurant

Welcome to Chee Peng Chinese Restaurant, a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, located at 30 W Main St, Fremont, MI 49412, USA. Chee Peng Chinese Restaurant can be contacted at (231) 924-9348 or +1 231-924-9348 for placing orders or making inquiries. Based on the limited recent customer feedback, experiences at this restaurant appear to be quite varied, with contrasting opinions on food quality and the overall dining atmosphere.

The environment of Chee Peng Chinese Restaurant is described in somewhat conflicting terms by the two available reviews. One customer who had a negative experience with a takeout order also noted that the place had a "very off off oder inside" and felt "creepy." This suggests a potentially unappealing or unclean interior. In contrast, another reviewer described it as a "nice older place" run by an older couple, acknowledging that the building is "a bit dated." This implies that while the establishment might not be modern, it could still have a certain charm or appeal to some customers. This reviewer also highlighted that Chee Peng is the "only place in Fremont that has Dine in seating," which could be a significant advantage for locals preferring to eat at the restaurant.

Chee Peng Chinese Restaurant offers both takeout and dine-in services, as indicated by the reviews. One customer placed a pickup order, while another specifically mentioned the availability of dine-in seating, which is noted as a unique offering in Fremont. Regarding the takeout experience, one reviewer reported significant issues with their order, including rubbery and unfried egg rolls, incorrect items (crab rangoons that were not ordered and also described as rubbery), sweet and sour chicken that tasted like fish and had an unpleasant smell, and chicken fried rice that looked unusual but was consumed out of hunger. This detailed negative account raises serious concerns about the quality and accuracy of their takeout service on at least one occasion.

The features of Chee Peng Chinese Restaurant are somewhat difficult to ascertain definitively due to the limited and contradictory reviews. One positive aspect mentioned by a customer was that the "food, service and value were great." This suggests that when the experience is positive, customers find the food to be of good quality, the service satisfactory, and the prices reasonable. The fact that it is run by an older couple might imply a more traditional, family-run style of operation. However, the starkly negative review paints a different picture, citing issues with the preparation and quality of several dishes. The rubbery texture of the egg rolls and crab rangoons, the fishy taste and smell of the sweet and sour chicken, and the unusual appearance of the chicken fried rice are all significant concerns raised by one customer.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. One reviewer mentioned that the "value was great" during their positive experience, which could be interpreted as an implicit promotion of their affordability. However, this is not supported by the negative review, which focuses entirely on the poor quality of the food without any mention of price. Therefore, local users cannot rely on the provided information to gauge any current discounts or special offers at Chee Peng Chinese Restaurant.

In conclusion, Chee Peng Chinese Restaurant in Fremont, MI, is a local Chinese restaurant offering both takeout and the unique option of dine-in seating in the area. Customer reviews present a stark contrast in experiences. One reviewer found the food, service, and value to be great, while another reported significant issues with the quality of several dishes in a takeout order, including rubbery egg rolls and crab rangoons, fishy-tasting sweet and sour chicken, and unusual chicken fried rice, also noting an unpleasant odor inside the establishment. The building is described as older and a bit dated. Without more consistent feedback or specific promotional information, local users should approach Chee Peng Chinese Restaurant with caution and consider the significant discrepancies in the available reviews when making a decision.

First time ever eating here place a pick up order I thought I called the other place in town but apparently I called this place had no choice but to get the food.. the egg rolls were rubbery not even fried. They gave me crab ragoons which I didn't order it .. I didn't even touch them they were rubbery . I ordered sweet n sour chicken and it tasted like fish and gave off this weird smell that stunk up my car . Also ordered chicken fried rice and it looked definitely different but so hungry I I ate that the rest went into the garbage can . Hopefully I don't get food poisoning. Will never make this mistake again . Oh and the place had a very off off oder inside as well . It felt creepy in there .

Weird smell, dark / really poorly lit, dirty carpeting, meal was served in about 10 minutes which made me wonder how they could cook it so quickly, the entire meal tasted odd....rice wasn't white / looked cream colored and tasted like no rice I had ever eaten, weird taste, sesame chicken looked like chicken mcnuggets with thin, tasteless gravy poured all over it, bland / boring taste, fortune cookies were soft / stale / icky. Frozen Chinese food tastes better than this. Worst Chinese food I've ever had.

Best Pad Thai I have ever had! Had not been here before and a gentleman (who was a regular) highly recommended ordering from the Thai menu. So glad I did! I will be back!
