Chanko

One of my favorite places to eat! I’ve recommended this to multiple people who also have been and liked it. I usually get tofu on rice, be careful if you can’t handle spice though because one of the sauces I’ve gotten on it was way too spicy and I can usually handle spice, all of the other sauces on it I’ve gotten have been good though and not too spicy. The pickled things that they put on the side are really good also. The food is so good and never disappoints, the atmosphere is also amazing. It’s such a cute place and they have good music playing. There’s also a lot of studio Ghibli figures/decorations around and it’s so cute!

This was our first time visiting here, and we had a great meal. They serve Okonomiyaki and Japanese curry mainly. You order at a kiosk and pick up your order when you are called. You pick your entree, protein, and any add ons you would like. They have a nice selection of beer and sake. It's a very casual atmosphere. The portions were generous, and we both had meals for tomorrow.

Such a fun little restaurant! This was my third time coming and definitely going to keep coming back! Love trying new food here. I haven't eaten something that I don't like! The digital menu is amazing cuz you get to see what everything looks like and I always love when it's like that. Service is great and they are very quick with getting all of the orders out. If you've never tried Chanko's before, I highly recommend it!

They’re lucky to have something like this in Tampa. The only thing older than me was the building itself. I say that because I’m not naturally very fond of electronic menus. But this was the exception of the rule. Great photography, easy menu to add things that you wanted. I had a shrimp as the protein, I’m incredibly critical of fresh seafood in Florida because I’ve lived here all my life. The shrimp is fresh. The texture was perfect . My dish, not only had all different taste blended together, which made it a great experience. I found out later on it was healthy. i’ll definitely be back again. I can see why my friends recommended it.

I felt that vegetarian selection was very limited. The fact that they served food in plastic container even though we were dining in was a put off. Japanese curry with chicken Katsu was okay, the curry came in a separate plastic container. Overall the whole experience was okay.
