About Chang Xing Chinese Restaurant

Welcome to Chang Xing Chinese Restaurant, a local dining establishment situated at 30 Windward Dr #108 in Fishersville, Virginia. Serving the community and visitors in the 22939 area, Chang Xing offers a convenient option for those seeking familiar American Chinese cuisine. You can reach them at (540) 946-9188 or their mobile number, +1 540-946-9188, for inquiries or to place an order.

Based on recent customer feedback, Chang Xing Chinese Restaurant presents a straightforward dining experience. The establishment is noted for its cleanliness, providing a comfortable environment for patrons who choose to dine in. The service model involves placing your order, completing payment, and then picking up your food at a designated counter in the back of the restaurant. This streamlined approach appears to contribute to a generally prompt wait time for food preparation, particularly for the items ordered by one reviewer.

In terms of value, the portion sizes relative to the price point have been described as good, suggesting that customers generally feel they receive a fair amount of food for what they pay. However, the culinary experience seems to be somewhat varied depending on the dish. One customer highlighted the egg rolls as being particularly enjoyable, describing them as "on point." Another diner found satisfaction in the garlic shrimp, indicating that certain menu items may be stronger than others.

Conversely, not all dishes received high praise. The General Tso's chicken was mentioned as being overcooked and dry, despite being generously coated in sauce. Additionally, a request for a very spicy preparation of the dish was not met, resulting in a lack of noticeable heat. The fried rice was also described as lacking in flavor, suggesting an area for potential improvement in their standard recipes.

Interestingly, one customer noted that all their food was packaged in to-go containers, even though they were dining inside the restaurant. While this might be a standard practice for efficiency, it's something to be aware of for those who prefer a traditional dine-in presentation.

Despite the mixed feedback on specific dishes, the overall sentiment from at least one reviewer leans towards a neutral "okay" experience, neither exceptionally good nor significantly bad. This customer expressed a willingness to return, specifically for the egg rolls and to explore other items on the menu, indicating a belief in the potential for a more satisfying experience with different selections.

Another customer review paints a slightly more positive picture, characterizing the food as "pretty standard American Chinese food" and expressing a definite intention to return if in the vicinity. This positive experience was further enhanced by the "awesome" staff who provided a punch card, suggesting a potential loyalty program for returning customers. The restaurant's location, not far from Interstate 81, was also highlighted as a convenience for travelers staying at nearby hotels, making it an easily accessible option for takeout.

In summary, Chang Xing Chinese Restaurant offers a no-frills approach to American Chinese cuisine in Fishersville, Virginia. The environment is clean, and the service is functional, focusing on efficient order processing and pickup. While some dishes, like the egg rolls and garlic shrimp, have garnered positive feedback, others, such as the General Tso's chicken and fried rice, appear to need refinement. The restaurant's convenient location near I-81 and the presence of a potential loyalty program add to its appeal, particularly for those in the area or passing through. If you find yourself in Fishersville and are looking for a familiar Chinese takeout or a casual dine-in option, Chang Xing Chinese Restaurant is worth considering, keeping in mind the varied experiences reported by other customers. You might just discover your own favorite dish on their menu.

It's not a bad place if you're in the area, not a great place either. The restaurant was nice and clean. The service was okay. You ordered, paid, and picked up from a counter in the back. Wait time on the food was good for what we ordered, and portion to price was also good. Some of the food we received was not that good. The general Tso's chicken consisted of sauce covered overcooked dry chicken. I also asked the cook to make it spicy, really spicy, and it had no heat. The fried rice was lacking some flavor as well. The egg rolls were on point, though! My culinary companion enjoyed their garlic shrimp, so maybe some of the other menu items are much better. I have to say, for some reason, they put all our food in to go bags and containers, even though we were eating in. Like I said, not bad, not good, just okay. I will definitely go back for some egg rolls and try another menu item out. If your in the area give them a try and see what you think.

Pretty standard american chinese food I would definitely come back if I were in the area. The staff was so awesome and they even gave us a punch card! No too far off i-81 so if you were staying at one of the hotels it is easy to pick up from it.

Tipped $10 ordering online but was charged an additional $10 when picking up food in-store. The food was average. Don’t order the chow mein because it won’t be the fried noodles you’d expect. It will be cabbage with croutons.
