About Chang Pai Halal Thai and Chinese

Chang Pai Halal Thai and Chinese is a meal takeaway establishment located at 166-12 Hillside Ave., Jamaica, NY 11432, offering a fusion of Halal Thai and Chinese dishes for local users seeking convenient takeaway options.

Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at Chang Pai Halal Thai and Chinese have been varied and largely negative. One customer described their experience with the Halal Chinese food as "probably the worst" they've ever had. They reported receiving an incorrect order despite multiple confirmations, noting issues with the quality of the chicken (rank smell and slimy taste) and the lack of seasoning in the vegetable fried rice and chowmein. The hot sauce was also described as sweet rather than hot, and the overall meal was considered expensive, leading the customer to not recommend the establishment.

Another review focused on the Thai aspect of the restaurant, describing the interior as "bleak" and "reminiscent of a bygone era," creating a "depressing atmosphere." The reviewer noted a single staff member juggling multiple responsibilities. The menu was reportedly a copy of another restaurant's, and the prices were considered "shockingly high" for the location and service level.

The mixed Thai soup was rated poorly (4/10) for containing only shrimp and bits of beef and having an oddly sweet taste. The chicken wonton was also deemed mediocre (5/10) for being overcooked and lacking flavor. Surprisingly, the mixed fried rice was considered the highlight (7/10), while the beef chili dish was described as a "disaster" and received no points. The reviewer concluded by advising against recommending the restaurant unless there were no other options nearby, suggesting nearby Bengali restaurants as potentially more satisfying alternatives.

Given the information available from these reviews, potential customers should be aware of the reported issues with food quality, order accuracy, pricing, and atmosphere. It's probably the worst halal chinese food I've ever had. Ordered Veg fried rice, Veg chowmein, Chicken Pakora and Chili Chicken (dry). First of all they got my order wrong, despite reconfirming with me 3 times what I ordered (they gave me shrimp fried rice, and chili chicken (with gravy), wrong. Second of all, the chicken was very rank (smelled bad and had a slimy taste). Third of all, the fried rice and chowmein had no seasoning (tasted like it was a cook was learning). Fourth of all, the hot sauce wasn't even hot. It was sweet. Top it all off, it was expensive. Wont recommend.

I recently dined at what claimed to be a Thai restaurant in New York , but it was far from an authentic Thai experience. The restaurant's interior was quite bleak and reminiscent of a bygone era, making for a rather depressing atmosphere. The sole staff member, a young woman, seemed to be juggling multiple roles, from greeting guests to serving and handling cash. It was evident that she deserved better compensation for her efforts. Firstly, the menu was a blatant copy of another Chinese-Thai restaurant, setting the stage for disappointment. The prices were shockingly high compared to the restaurant's location and the level of service provided. We started with the mixed Thai soup, which was a letdown. It contained only shrimp and bits of beef and had an oddly sweet taste. I'd give it a mere 4/10. The chicken wonthon was overcooked and lacked flavor, earning it a mediocre 5/10. Surprisingly, the mixed fried rice was the highlight of the meal, with a score of 7/10. However, the beef chili dish was an absolute disaster and couldn't even earn a single point. In conclusion, I would not recommend this restaurant unless you have no other options in the area. There are plenty of renowned Bengali restaurants nearby, such as Panshi and Ghoroa, where you can enjoy a more satisfying dining experience.

I saw alot of bad reviews and I went and tried it as it was close by. I love thai food. And the prices are great. I ordered the Thai soup. It was rich and delicious. Not the see through clear water one you find at all thai restaurant. I could drink it all day. Then I tried their beef and vegetables, it was delicious. The portions were big portion for 11.99. You can't go anywhere and buy beef and vegetable with rice for that portion. So I will continue to try their other stuff. It's a small restaurant that isn't grand. You can't expect spectacular and don't want to pay spectacular prices. Most restaurant for a beef dish like that is close to $20.

(I recommend the Masala fried rice for people that like spice. And shrimp balls) Kinda hit or miss kinda spot. Sometimes it will bring you bomb food and something mediocre. I would recommend the owner to make proper measurements for recipes. That's what seems to be wrong. Cause one Day the food (Same dish) has the perfect amount of seasoning sometimes it tastes bland .

Momo is great. Super sweet and friendly. I ate the combo pack, which includes fried rice, manchurian chicken, and a drink. The food is great. Fries chicken is crispy outside, tender and juicy inside.
