While specific details about the ambiance and décor of Chang Jiang are not provided in the reviews, it is common for Chinese restaurants to offer a casual and welcoming atmosphere for their diners. The focus is often on providing a comfortable space to enjoy the cuisine. However, without explicit information, the specific environment of Chang Jiang remains unknown.

In terms of services, Chang Jiang likely offers standard options for a Chinese restaurant, which typically include:

  • Dine-in: Providing a physical space for customers to enjoy their meals on the premises.
  • Takeout: Allowing customers to order food and pick it up to consume elsewhere.

Delivery services are not explicitly mentioned in the provided customer reviews. Customers interested in delivery options should contact the restaurant directly to inquire about their availability and service area.

The features of Chang Jiang, based on the customer reviews, present a somewhat mixed perspective. One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with their order, stating that food worth $50 was "awful." They specifically mentioned that the "spicy chicken" was not spicy, the "crab rangoon" tasted like it was fried in old grease, and the "veggie roll" tasted like a cabbage roll, labeling the entire meal a "waste of food and money." This negative feedback highlights potential inconsistencies in food quality and preparation.

In contrast, another reviewer had a more positive experience, noting that Chang Jiang serves "heavily sauced Chinese food," which they personally enjoy, contrasting it with other Chinese food options in Madison that are either "authentic and greasy" or "Hyvee and dry." This reviewer found Chang Jiang to be a "nice change," reminiscent of "middle American hometown saucey goodness." They tried the "Szechuan tofu," which they found a "little too spicy" even at a level 1-2, but appreciated the "soft tofu," describing it as "unique and yummy." They also recommended talking to the restaurant if one is unsure about soft tofu. Additionally, this reviewer enjoyed the "sautéed veggies with lo main," describing it as "so good." This review suggests that Chang Jiang might specialize in a particular style of Chinese cuisine with a focus on flavorful sauces and offers some unique dishes like the soft tofu in their Szechuan tofu.

The discrepancy in these reviews indicates that customer experiences at Chang Jiang can vary. While one customer found the food to be significantly below expectations, another appreciated the distinct style of their heavily sauced dishes and highlighted specific items like the Szechuan tofu and lo mein with sautéed veggies.

Promotional information is not available in the provided customer reviews. To learn about any special offers, discounts, or new menu items that Chang Jiang might be featuring, it would be best to contact the restaurant directly or check if they have a website or social media presence where they might post such information. Local residents might also inquire about any lunch specials or family meal deals.

In conclusion, Chang Jiang at 3195 Muir Field Rd, Madison, WI, is a Chinese restaurant that has received mixed reviews from customers online. One customer reported a very negative experience with multiple dishes, citing issues with spice levels, cooking oil, and taste. However, another customer appreciated their "heavily sauced" style of Chinese food and specifically enjoyed the Szechuan tofu with soft tofu and the sautéed veggies with lo mein. This suggests that Chang Jiang might appeal to those who prefer a saucier style of Chinese cuisine and are open to trying dishes with unique textures like soft tofu. Potential customers may want to consider these differing opinions and perhaps try specific dishes that have received positive mentions. For the most up-to-date information on their menu, services, and any promotions, contacting Chang Jiang directly is recommended.

We ordered $50 worth of food and it was awful!! I ordered spicy chicken not spicy! Crab Rangoon taste like it was fried in old grease. My veggie roll tasted like a cabbage roll! Just a waste of food and money.

Well, this is heavily sauced Chinese food! Which I like. Madisons Chinese food scene is either authentic and greasy or Hyvee and dry. This place is a nice change. Reminds me of my middle American hometown saucey goodness. I did get their Szechuan tofu - it was a level 1-2, but a little too spicy for me. The tofu was a soft tofu, which I thought was unique and yummy. But if you're not sure you like tofu soft, talk with them. I also like the sautéed veggies with lo main: so good.

We had this delivered, but called the restaurant and asked specifically for red sweet and sour dipping sauce. She told me to finish online order and she would add it. It was not included. We received the packets of yellow sauce for egg rolls, but four huge egg rolls and only three packets. Two large entrees and three soy sauce, which was also silly. Food ... pork and shrimp egg rolls, both good. Beef with mushroom add onion, they didn't add onion. However, it came with beef fried rice, which had plenty of onion in it. Shrimp in garlic sauce was surprisingly sweet and had way too many vegetables for me. But the shrimps were large and tasty. Next time, I will dine inside rather than delivery.

I've ordered delivery and pick up from here several times. Always hoping to scratch the chinese food itch unsuccessfully. Man it's awful food. The orange chicken, general tso chicken, and sesame chicken are more coarse gristle and non chewable parts than chicken. I literally just had to spit out a piece it wouldn't even break down... Lo mein tasted like old frying oil. Consistently awful food.
