About Chai Peking Chinese Restaurant
Introducing Chai Peking Chinese Restaurant, bringing a taste of Chinese cuisine to the local community in US. While our original location is inside Kroger at 2205 Lavista Rd, Atlanta, GA 30329, USA, we are now offering our dishes for takeout and delivery to customers in US.
As a platform category Chinese Restaurant, Chai Peking Chinese Restaurant aims to provide a variety of Chinese dishes for your enjoyment at home or on the go. Our US location is conveniently situated inside a Kroger supermarket.
Based on customer reviews from our US location, experiences have been mixed. One customer reported a very negative experience, citing a significantly late order, soggy and overly sweet chicken, Mongolian beef that was mostly onions and flavorless, and dry Lo Mein noodles. This customer expressed extreme dissatisfaction with their meal. In contrast, another customer found the Lo Mein to be good. However, this customer also noted the restaurant's early closing time on Fridays as a significant drawback, negatively impacting their desire to return.
Our features include a menu with items such as Lo Mein, Mongolian beef, and various chicken dishes. We offer takeout and potentially delivery services. However, it's important to note the conflicting feedback regarding the quality of some of our dishes and the reported issue with early closing times at our US location, which may or may not be applicable to our services in US.
As we extend our services to US, we encourage you to explore our menu options. We will be working to ensure timely and satisfactory delivery and takeout experiences for our local customers. Please stay tuned for updates on our specific menu offerings, ordering procedures, and service hours in US. We aim to provide a convenient way for you to enjoy Chinese cuisine.

Customer Reviews
Horrible food. Order was 30+ minutes late. Chicken was soggy and soaked in a pool of overly sweet gross sauce. Mongolian beef was 80% onions and was tough and flavorless. Lo mein noodles were dry and flavorless. Maybe the worst $70 I've ever spent on food. 0/10 this is not kosher it's embarrassing. I wouldn't eat here if it was free.
Lo Mein was good. Sucks that they close early on Fridays, at lunch time especially. That’s actually annoying so definitely puts a damper on my desire to return.
I tried this restaurant a week ago and was so ecstatic to finally find a delicious gluten friendly Chinese restaurant. The food was really tasty. So, I decided to go back. However, my experience this time around has not been as good. It almost feels as though I ordered from a completely different restaurant. My soup is too gelatinous and inedible and my meat dish is soggy and lacking flavor. Not sure what happened, or what caused such a stark change in consistency, but it feels disappointing since I traveled far for this food. No judgement to the owner or staff. Everyone seems very kind. Just disappointed after spending $30 for food I can barely eat.
Very tasty Chinese kosher restaurant inside Kroger supermarket. Large size has a decent quantity of food. Recommend the chicken and beef with rice noodles or fried rice. Order takes around 20-25 min wich gives you a chance to browse the large kosher groceries selection avaiable on the supermarket. Will come back for sure next Atlanta visit.
Chai Peking has been an Atlanta Kosher fixture for over 20 years and I am happy to say it is as good as ever. While my family and I have ordered many, many times in those 20+ years I thought it was time for me to write a review. First and foremost I am a very fussy Chineese food afficionado as it is one of my favorite types of food. Being a BalTeshuva I have tasted many treif versions in my youth. So you can imagine I'm a tougher critic than most FFB reviewers. Fortunately I can happily say that most every dish we've had has been extremely good. My family is allergic to garlic so we always ask them to remove it. I can't imagine how much better it would be with it since it is really good w/o. Over the years the food has been very consistent. It always tastes the same which is a good thing. My only gripe food wise is the fried rice. I find it very bland and boring. We were in a restaurant in Florida recently and I was reminded how amazing good fried rice can be. I wish they would work to improve it. Oddly my family seems to enjoy it, but maybe because they never had better. The main dishes however are really delicious and compete well with other restaurants Kosher and non Kosher from what I recall all those years ago. Almost everyone I know in the community really enjoys Chai Pekings food, never heard anyone complain about it. It is also nice they have a fairly large menu unlike some places I have been. Another minus though is that it is take out only and while you can eat if one of a few small tables is available at the Kroger it is hosted in, I long for the wonderful atmosphere a true Chinese restaurant can offer. However despite that I am enormously grateful just to have the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful food. My familys favorites are Sweat and Sour Chicken, Beef and Chicken Lomein, Sesame Chicken, Egg Rolls, Wonton Soup, Dumplings, and my all time favorite Chicken with Cashews which is better at Chai Peking than any other place I have ever had it at. If I could afford it, I would eat there every day. The wait time is another area that could be improved. It is sometimes accurate to the given wait forecast but on busier days can easily be double which can be 45-60 minutes or more. I know this can be challenging for any busy place but I just wish they could get a better handle on it consistently. Another less frequent but still annoying occurence has been driving home to find out they forgot to add the Cashews to my dish. We live too far away to drive back and complain which is frustrating. It has happened a number of times in the last year or two so I recommend everyone to check your order carefully before leaving. So while I have mentioned several negatives I cannot stress enough how much the positives out weigh the negatives. I love love love Chai Peking and hope you will too.
