I had an amazing dining experience at Chai Lan in Irvine! The food here is absolutely delicious, and I can’t recommend it enough. The seafood noodle soup was rich, flavorful, and packed with fresh ingredients—definitely a must-try if you’re a fan of bold flavors. Another standout dish was the 锅包肉 (sweet and sour fried pork)—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly balanced in taste. It’s one of the best versions I’ve had in the area! The portions are generous, and the side dishes are a great touch that add to the overall meal. The atmosphere is cozy and casual, making it a great spot for a comforting meal with friends or family. If you’re craving authentic and satisfying food, Chai Lan is a place you shouldn’t miss. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

Very good Korean restaurant! Recommend Black bean sauce noodles with pork, Spicy seafood noodle soup with assorted vegetables and Deep fried pork salad with sweet and sour sauce, They are so delicious! Will come back for sure!

Just below average Chinese restaurant. Most tasteless noodles I have ever had. I was excited for black noodle but man I can’t even eat half. It is little pricey for black noodle. I highly recommend somewhere else. Very disappointed by their foods

After my son finished his sports event in Irvine, we were near NorthPark Plaza. We saw a Chinese-Korean restaurant called Chai Lan Chinese Cuisine and decided to give it a try. They offer a simplified menu with six noodle options. We ordered the following: #1 Spicy seafood noodle soup with assorted vegetables ($16.99) #2 Spicy seafood noodle soup with vegetables pork broth ($16.99) #3 Black bean sauce noodles with pork ($13.99) My kids like the Jajangmyeon (#3), but I personally enjoy a bowl of half Jajangmyeon and half Jjambbong, although this option is not available. Advice to the Owner: Since the menu only offers six noodle options, customers may get bored of it. Please consider adding more creative choices like a bowl of half Jajangmyeon and half Jjambbong. Additionally, you can introduce a "Chinese-Korean Thali," similar to the traditional Indian thali, which includes a variety of dishes on a single plate. This will be an innovative way to offer diverse choices and attract more customers.

Chai Lan has firmly secured its place as one of my all-time favorite restaurants. Its convenient hours of operation, from 11 am to 9:30 pm, make it accessible for a wide range of dining occasions. During my recent visit, the food was nothing short of exceptional. The Black Bean Sauce Noodle was a delightful blend of flavors, the Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup packed a spicy punch, and the Stir Fry Flank Steak with Onions was an absolute star. The accompanying buns with savory brown sauce added a perfect finishing touch to the meal. What's particularly impressive about Chai Lan is its popularity, which is evident as the restaurant remains bustling well into the night. Its warm and welcoming ambiance, coupled with a diverse menu, makes it an ideal choice for families and friends alike. Whether it's a casual lunch or a family dinner, Chai Lan caters to a variety of dining needs. It's not surprising that this restaurant has swiftly become a personal favorite, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in search of a memorable dining experience. Be sure to book a table in advance, as Chai Lan's popularity is well-deserved and reservations are highly recommended!
