Customer Reviews
We decided to try this locally recommended waterside restaurant. It's on the Inland Waterway, not the Gulf. You have to climb up to the restaurant as it's on a raised platform. It sits next to a nice Marina which is next to the bridge on one of the major thoroughfares. They had a nice deck area as well as the restaurant inside and picnic tables on the ground level next to the restaurant. A small bar area was inside the main restaurant as well as outside on the deck. plenty of room for seating one would think. However the food was great and as we finished eating it was starting to get crowded. My wife ordered the lobster and steak which is not a combined meal. I got a fish sandwich which was huge and very tasty. All of the food was good and the Margarita was excellent according to my wife. I was surprised because the green beans that came with it looked to be fresh out of a garden, not out of a can. The wait staff was very good and kept close tabs on us and they seemed to work together well. It was a little pricier than I anticipated, but not excessive. This is a nice place to go for supper with a good view of the Waterway and sunset
The bartender Zach is a fun guy and makes a pretty good drink. They were good enough for my hubby and I to have 3 each Margaritas and Bloody Mary's. We each had a dozen oysters. Raw and Garlic and Parmesan They were really good and big. Hubby loved the raw ones. We split a fried shrimp, Po-boy It looked great, but this is just me, and only my opinion. I do not like when shrimp has a iodine taste. I have heard from many people that say they can not tell the difference, which is great and wonderful for them, as for me Not so much. It will not stop me from going back. We really enjoy this restaurant and the atmosphere is amazing and so is all the staff We will be back
Wow! Had a little bit of everything to try it. Had the oysters sampler! Delicious! Had steak too and it was on point. The drinks were also good. The place is very cool, although we got there late, we had a great dinner. And when you visit, do not leave without trying the fried key lime pie. I’m telling you!!
I had heard about the “key lime” pie and looked forward to visiting. It’s about 1/2 way between I-10 and Rt. 98 on the ocean. The ambiance is super cool, both in and out. It sits on a marina. The menu is fairly seafood focused. The Brunch menu had several choices. Overall I found it to be pricey for the servings, but it all tasted great. The bottom line: try the Key Lime 🍋🟩 pie!!!
So where do I start? Captain Al’s came highly recommended. From one of the ladies at our RV resort. Where my wife and I were staying so because she raved about Captain Al’s we decided to give it a try our first time and we were greeted promptly as we walked up to Greeter counter we are promptly seated and then we were greeted by our waiter Zack Long that was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some recommendations, but because Captain Al’s came so highly recommended. So were some of their dishes so we started out with the oysters topped with the supreme seafood and Man old man hey man say man those had to be the best oysters I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. Don’t consider myself a oyster connoisseur but I’ve had my fair share and those were absolutely delicious. Amazing and a experience, I’ll never forget so then at that point, my wife and I ordered I settled for the supreme seafood, Angel hair pasta my wife had the catfish with hush puppies and they both came with a side salad top with crab and most places when they say they’re gonna top your salad with crab. It’s just a few little shreds not much not something that you can really brag about but I’m about to brag. The salad was absolutely amazing the crab on top was a mountain of crab. It’s truly wasn’t what I expected the ranch dressing man amazing completed the salad. It was absolutely great now let’s move on to the Angel hair supreme seafood pasta with an extra side of supreme seafood when I tell you, this is one of the most absolutely amazing dishes that I’ve had in years I do mean years this dish was super delicious. Seasoned to perfection. There was nothing I needed to do but insert my fork into that pasta and into my mouth and experience greatness. My wife and I travel the world often last Thanksgiving we had the pleasure of being in Milan Italy for Thanksgiving. We spent two weeks traveling all over Italy from Florence to Rome to Venice and Milan as well. I must say I experienced some of the best food ever created by a man and God then I come to Gulfport Mississippi, March 2025 and I must say I am very very very impressed. Captain isn’t the only place we’ve eaten and I must say overall I will give Captain Niles a 10 out of 10 I will be back to try it again that’s for sure so if you’re in the Gulfport area and you want to experience some great food delicious Amazing incredible I highly suggest you get off I 10 on Cowan Road. in Gulfport, Mississippi and stop at a restaurant that I say should be World renowned everybody in the world should know about this restaurant. This restaurant is absolutely amazing. Service is amazing. The people are amazing. The owner was amazing. The servers were amazing. please don’t cheat yourself like I always say treat yourself to Captain Al’s in Gulfport Mississippi.
