In terms of services, Capital Noodle Bar Brea primarily functions as a dine-in restaurant, allowing customers to enjoy their dumplings and noodle dishes on-site. The menu appears to be diverse, featuring a selection of dumplings, including spicy wontons, juicy pork dumplings (their version of soup dumplings), and sui mai, as well as their highly praised beef noodle soup. While not explicitly stated, it is common for noodle bars and Chinese restaurants to offer takeout services, catering to customers who prefer to enjoy their meals at home or elsewhere. The food at Capital Noodle Bar Brea has received varied but generally positive feedback, with certain dishes standing out. Among the dumplings, the sui mai were particularly well-received, described as "BIG" with a "well seasoned" filling, "snappy" shrimp, and a "perfectly thin dumpling wrapper," making them the reviewer's favorite. The spicy wontons were noted for their thin wrapper and nice filling, but the chili sauce was considered lacking, being bitter and dry despite the presence of chili oil. Suggestions were made for improvement, such as using a chili oil with aromatics and adding soy sauce for balance. The juicy pork dumplings, while having a "sweet, seasoned, & very juicy" filling, were criticized for their small order size (four pieces) compared to typical dim sum places, inconsistent wrapper thickness (some thin, some too thick), and the issue of the soup leaking out.

A significant highlight of Capital Noodle Bar Brea is their beef noodle soup, which one reviewer described as a "Heartwarming Trio." The classic version was lauded as a "timeless delight" with a "deeply savory" and "robust beefy flavor" achieved through simmering. The beef was described as tender and melting in the mouth, complemented by "chewy noodles." The subtle warmth from star anise and ginger was noted, making each spoonful a "comforting embrace" and a "nostalgic nod to tradition, executed flawlessly." This detailed praise indicates that the beef noodle soup is a standout dish and a must-try for those who appreciate rich and flavorful comfort food.

Features of Capital Noodle Bar Brea include a welcoming and friendly service, a menu offering a variety of dumplings and noodle dishes, and a highly recommended classic beef noodle soup known for its rich flavor and tender ingredients. The sui mai dumplings also stand out for their size and quality. While some aspects of the spicy wontons and juicy pork dumplings received constructive criticism, the overall impression is of a spot that offers a good "dumplings/noodles fix." However, one reviewer noted that it is "certainly not a replacement for dim sum," suggesting that while they offer some dumpling options, the full dim sum experience might not be their focus.

I walked in to dine on a Saturday afternoon and the service was amazing from the beginning. Very welcoming and friendly. I got three different dumplings plus hot tea and paid just under $40: 1. Spicy wantons - thin wrapper and nice filling, but the chili sauce was lacking in my opinion. It had a good spice but it was bitter and very dry, despite seeing the chili oil on the bottom. I think using a chili oil that has aromatics would work better and with some soy sauce for balance. 2. Juicy pork dumplings (their version of soup dumplings) - the order of 4 seemed really small compared to most dim sum places but the filling was sweet, seasoned, & very juicy. The soup part had already leaked out of two of mine unfortunately though. Also the wrapper thickness was not consistent; one was thin and three were very thick, too thick. The wrapper could be more thin. 3. Sui Mai - these Sui Mai were BIG! They were probably the best of the dumplings I tried. The filling was well seasoned, the shrimp was snappy, & a perfectly thin dumpling wrapper. Overall great spot for a dumpling/noodles fix & great service but certainly not a replacement for dim sum.

A Heartwarming Trio of Beef Noodle Soup If you're a fan of rich, flavorful, and comforting meals, this trio of beef noodle soup is an absolute must-try. Each bowl is a testament to the art of balancing bold flavors, tender textures, and aromatic spices, making it a truly unforgettable dining experience. The classic version is a timeless delight. The broth is deeply savory, with a robust beefy flavor that’s been simmered to perfection. The tender slices of beef melt in your mouth, while the chewy noodles provide the perfect contrast in texture. A hint of star anise and ginger adds a subtle warmth, making every spoonful a comforting embrace. This bowl is a nostalgic nod to tradition, executed flawlessly.

I took my mother-in-law (who was born in Shanghai) to this restaurant for lunch and she absolutely loved it. Atmosphere is modern and fresh. Service was a bit slow on a Saturday but I think that was because they might have been understaffed. The food was great though. Prices were decent. Portion sizes were very generous. We had three plates of dim sum surprisingly really good, given this place is not technically a dim sum restaurant. We also had the Capitol Street noodle and Hong Kong style chow fun. Definitely coming back here to try some of their other dishes.

Finally decided to give this place a try. Took the family for lunch as we have had a gift certificate for over a year that was given to us for a gift. The service was terrible. Maybe it was because we were in there at an odd time 2pm on a Thursday. We had to basically flag the waitress down for everything. We then presented our $20 gift card that said valid at the Brea location no expiration dates noted and were told they no longer accepted the gift cards at this location even know the location and restaurant name remains the same. Food was ok a bit bland and overpriced. There are so many better options in brea area for this type of food we will not be returning.

1st time here. Was very tasty!! Will go again. The only complaint for me was the seating. Mostly benches, which I can't sit on for very long as a bad back. The young man who was our server was super good.
