About Capital Dim Sum & BBQ

Welcome to Capital Dim Sum & BBQ, a Chinese restaurant located in Monterey Park, California, catering to those seeking a diverse menu of dim sum and BBQ specialties. Situated at 727 W Garvey Ave, Monterey Park, CA 91754, USA, Capital Dim Sum & BBQ aims to provide a range of Cantonese culinary delights. As a participant in the Chinese Restaurant category, it offers local users an opportunity to experience these classic dishes.

Based on available customer feedback, the experience at Capital Dim Sum & BBQ appears to be somewhat varied. One reviewer expressed a highly positive sentiment regarding their dim sum offerings, stating that they found the dim sum to be significantly softer and more succulent than what they have experienced in Las Vegas. This positive review also highlights the excellent value perceived by this customer, suggesting that Capital Dim Sum & BBQ provides a satisfying meal at a reasonable price, making it a preferred stop whenever they are in the Los Angeles area.

However, another customer shared a less favorable experience, specifically concerning the BBQ items. This review described the roast pork as having a bad taste, reminiscent of leftover meat and, concerningly, noted the presence of pork hair. Additionally, the char siew was described as having a rubbery texture. This feedback indicates potential inconsistencies in the quality of the BBQ dishes offered at the restaurant. In contrast to the negative feedback on the BBQ, this same reviewer found the dim sum to be acceptable, suggesting a possible disparity in the quality between different sections of the menu.

Given the limited information available from online reviews, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the environment and services at Capital Dim Sum & BBQ. The positive review focusing on the quality and value of the dim sum suggests that the restaurant may offer a comfortable setting for enjoying these small Cantonese dishes. The mention of it being a regular stop for a visitor implies a certain level of consistency and appeal in their overall offering, at least concerning the dim sum.

On the other hand, the negative comments regarding the roast pork and char siew raise concerns about the quality control and preparation methods for their BBQ items. Without further information, it is difficult to ascertain whether these were isolated incidents or indicative of a broader issue. Potential local users might want to consider this feedback when deciding on their order, perhaps focusing on the dim sum based on the positive experience shared.

Features of Capital Dim Sum & BBQ, based on the name and the limited reviews, appear to center around two main culinary areas: dim sum and BBQ. Dim sum typically includes a wide variety of small, steamed, pan-fried, or deep-fried dishes, such as dumplings, buns, and rolls, often enjoyed during brunch or lunch. BBQ in a Cantonese restaurant usually refers to roasted meats like char siew (barbecue pork), siu yuk (roast pork), and roasted duck.

The contrasting reviews suggest that the quality and appeal of these features might vary. The succulent dim sum, as praised by one customer, could be a significant draw for those seeking well-prepared and flavorful small bites. The potential for good value also adds to the appeal of their dim sum offerings. However, the issues reported with the roast pork and char siew could be a deterrent for customers specifically looking for high-quality Cantonese BBQ.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided text. Local users interested in Capital Dim Sum & BBQ may want to contact the restaurant directly at (626) 289-6338 or mobile phone +1 626-289-6338 to inquire about any ongoing specials, lunch or dinner deals, or new menu items that might be of interest. It is always advisable to check with the restaurant for the most up-to-date information on promotions and offerings.

In conclusion, Capital Dim Sum & BBQ in Monterey Park presents a mixed picture based on the limited customer feedback. While one reviewer found their dim sum to be exceptionally soft, succulent, and of excellent value, another reported significant issues with the taste and quality of the roast pork and the texture of the char siew. The dim sum appears to be a stronger point based on the available information. Local users might consider trying their dim sum based on the positive review, but should be aware of the reported issues with the BBQ items. Further investigation or more recent reviews might provide a clearer overall picture of the current dining experience at Capital Dim Sum & BBQ.

This restaurant was a go to place for my mom in the early morning cuz it opened at 8 am. The dim sums was decent but it lacked varieties so choices were limited. Almost all dim sums costed $5.28 per dish except few bbq n special items.

Great, fast and friendly service. The dim sum was solid and for a fair price as well. The spareribs were awesome, the shumai were amazing and the fried sesame balls with red bean filling were amazing as well. The dim sum classics were solid, some were better than others but it really fulfilled my craving for some dim sum today.

This is Chinese fast food place with a dimsum and Chinese BBQ meats section. All to go. The 1, 2 or 3 item tray is quite inexpensive. Dimsum items are about 40 in variety. The BBQ meats are your usual favorites like crusty pork belly, charshu pork, and roast duck. It is a good place to come to pick up quick eats. Prices are reasonable.
