About Canton Chinese Restaurant
Canton Chinese Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at 14491 S Dixie Hwy in Miami, Florida, serving the local community with a variety of Chinese culinary offerings. As a part of the Chinese restaurant category, it aims to provide a range of dishes and services typical of such establishments. Based on the limited customer reviews available online, it appears that Canton Chinese Restaurant offers both takeout and potentially dine-in services. One reviewer mentioned ordering through Uber Eats, indicating that delivery is also an option, likely through third-party platforms. The presence of phone numbers, (305) 232-6636 and +1 305-232-6636, confirms that customers can place orders or make inquiries via telephone. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance and interior design are not provided, customers can likely expect a standard Chinese restaurant setting with a dining area and facilities for preparing and packaging takeout and delivery orders.
The services offered by Canton Chinese Restaurant include takeout, delivery (via Uber Eats, at least), and potentially dine-in options. The fact that one customer ordered through a delivery platform suggests that this is a convenient way for local users to access their food. The availability of phone numbers indicates that placing orders directly with the restaurant for pickup is also an option. For those who prefer to dine at the establishment, it is reasonable to assume that seating is available, although no specific details about the dining environment are mentioned in the provided reviews.
The customer reviews for Canton Chinese Restaurant present a mixed picture regarding the quality of their food. One reviewer who ordered via Uber Eats had a positive experience with the steamed dumplings, describing them as cooked perfectly ("to muah"). However, this positive feedback was overshadowed by significant issues with other dishes in the same order. The lo mein noodles were reported to taste like plastic, indicating a potential problem with the ingredients or preparation. Most concerningly, this reviewer found a "big, long black hair" in the family-size Honey Chicken, which is a serious hygiene issue and would understandably lead to a negative overall experience.
Another customer who had eaten at Canton Chinese Restaurant twice provided a more comprehensive but ultimately negative assessment. They described their first visit as "unremarkable," suggesting a neutral experience. However, their second visit was described as the "worst Chinese food I've ever had." This reviewer reported that the Honey Chicken was hard, and the sauce was watery and had a strange taste. The egg rolls were described as having a "fishy tasting" flavor, even with the addition of hot mustard, indicating a potential issue with the ingredients or freshness. The only dish this reviewer found to be acceptable was the Vegetable Fried Rice, which they and their wife ended up sharing for dinner, discarding the rest of their order. This overwhelmingly negative experience led them to conclude that they would "never going back" to Canton Chinese Restaurant.
The contrasting experiences highlight a significant inconsistency in the food quality at Canton Chinese Restaurant. While one dish (steamed dumplings) was well-received in one order, other items in the same order (lo mein, honey chicken with a foreign object) and in a separate order (honey chicken, egg rolls) were deemed to be of very poor quality. The report of the honey chicken being hard with a watery and funny-tasting sauce, and the egg rolls tasting fishy, suggests potential issues with cooking methods, ingredient quality, or freshness. The presence of a hair in the food is a serious hygiene concern that would understandably deter customers.
For local users in Miami considering Canton Chinese Restaurant, it is essential to take these recent customer reviews into account. The positive feedback about the steamed dumplings is countered by significant negative feedback regarding the lo mein, honey chicken, and egg rolls. The hygiene issue reported with the hair in the food is particularly concerning. The fact that one customer described their second experience as the "worst Chinese food I've ever had" and vowed never to return suggests a severe level of dissatisfaction. While the restaurant offers delivery through at least one platform (Uber Eats) and likely takeout and dine-in options, the reported food quality issues may outweigh the convenience for many potential customers.
Given the limited number of reviews but the severity of the negative experiences reported, it is difficult to provide a strong recommendation for Canton Chinese Restaurant at this time. The inconsistency in quality, ranging from well-prepared dumplings to inedible honey chicken and contaminated food, presents a significant risk for potential diners. Local users might want to exercise caution and perhaps consider other Chinese restaurants in the area that have received more consistently positive feedback regarding their food quality and hygiene standards. It may also be prudent to look for more recent reviews on various platforms to see if there has been any change in the overall customer experience at Canton Chinese Restaurant.
In conclusion, Canton Chinese Restaurant at 14491 S Dixie Hwy in Miami, FL, is a Chinese restaurant that offers takeout, delivery (via Uber Eats), and potentially dine-in services. While one customer found the steamed dumplings to be well-prepared, others reported significant issues with the quality of the lo mein, honey chicken (including a hygiene concern), and egg rolls. One customer described their experience as the "worst Chinese food" they had ever had. The inconsistency and the serious nature of the complaints suggest that potential customers should approach this restaurant with caution and perhaps consider alternative options in the area.

Ordered on Uber eats. Steamed dumplings cooked to muah. Lomein noodles tasted like plastic, and a big, long black hair in the family size Honey Chicken!
I've eaten there twice now. First time was unremarkable. This time was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Honey chicken was hard. Sauce was basically water and funny tasting. Egg rolls were fishy tasting, even with the hot mustard. Vegetable fried rice was ok. My wife and I ended up sharing the rice for our dinner. Everything else got thrown away. Never going back.
Very bad food here. The honey chicken was coated in a very cheap store bought glaze. The kung pao chicken tasted like it had been cooked while frozen. Nothing tasted fresh and half way through the meal, there was a homeless man walking through the dining area harassing people for money. I wouldn't eat at this place again if you payed me.
Love the wings here. Also pork fried rice is always fresh!!!
Nice overall great steak.
