About Brother Bruno's Pizza
Brother Bruno's Pizza, located at 601 PA-940 #18 in Mt Pocono, while listed under the "Chinese Restaurant" category, is a pizza place offering a menu that includes pizza, cheesesteaks, and sides like cheese fries and chicken fingers. It appears to cater to both dine-in and primarily takeout customers.
Environment: One reviewer noted that there were maybe 6-8 tables inside, suggesting a relatively small dine-in area, with the business likely geared more towards takeout orders.
Services: Customer service experiences seem to be mixed, with significant negative feedback regarding the owner/manager. One customer recounted a distressing experience involving an incorrect order (a cheesesteak with unwanted mushrooms), a dismissive and confrontational owner who became loud and aggressive, and an attempt to overcharge. This reviewer felt sympathy for the waitress, whom they described as lovely. Another reviewer had a neutral experience with the person behind the counter during a takeout visit, describing them as "adequate" but not particularly friendly. The waitress in the negative review was described positively.
Features: Brother Bruno's Pizza offers a range of items including pizza, cheesesteaks (plain and buffalo chicken), cheese fries, and kids' meals like chicken fingers with fries. One reviewer who tried a reheated slice of pizza found it enjoyable, noting a nice char, good crust snap, thinness, and a good cheese-to-sauce ratio. However, another customer's experience with a cheesesteak order was severely negative due to an incorrect topping and the owner's handling of the situation.
Promotional Information: There is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. One reviewer noted that a single slice of pizza and a soda cost over $6, which they found a bit concerning in terms of price for a quick slice.
In conclusion, while not a Chinese restaurant, Brother Bruno's Pizza in Mt Pocono offers pizza and other typical pizza place fare. Reviews suggest that the pizza itself can be decent. However, potential local users should be aware of a concerning report regarding very poor customer service and issues with order accuracy and the owner's behavior. Service from other staff, like the waitress mentioned, seems to be more positive. The establishment appears to be primarily geared towards takeout with limited dine-in space.

We were at the pocono on vacation, for my baby boys birthday our 2nd day there we stopped at “bro Bruno Pizza” we ordered cheese fries, 2 cheesesteaks with mayo and extra cheese, 1 buffalo chicken cheesesteak 1 large cheese pie and a kids chicken finger w fries. But one of our cheesesteaks had mushrooms we never ordered mushrooms we do not eat mushrooms especially not on cheesesteaks. I kindly said is fine I don’t want it just take that cheesesteak off our bill I’ll just settle for the pizza. The waitress said okay sorry about that. The waitress leaves and comes back with the cheesesteak the same one with the mushrooms and said they are making me bring it to you, I said but I don’t eat mushrooms I didn’t order that she said I know but they are making me bring it to you they aren’t listening to me, Can you tell them you don’t want it please. So I got up and took the cheesesteak up there to the owner and I kindly said sir I didn’t order mushrooms I ordered a plain steak I don’t want this and I am not paying for something I didn’t order. The owner then got really nasty with me he got so loud my husband had to get up and come over to see what was happening, when he seen that man get up he calmed down asap. When it was time to leave he tried to give me a 200$ bill I said dude what is wrong with you. When the original bill that the waitress brought out was 77$. Long story cut short the owner/manager of this business is a nasty mean and greedy man. The waitress was a lovely girl who I felt really bad for she did not deserve to get treated like that no employee deserves that. Next time I will record everything cause this was terrible.
I can only speak on a single slice that was a re-heat and I am due to return and try out some more stuff. I stopped in December of 2021 so as you can see, it's been quite some time since then and I need to get back up there and do a re-visit. The guy behind the counter was pretty much a typical pizza place employee...not what I'd call "friendly", not unfriendly...just adequate. Maybe 6-8 tables inside but mostly geared towards takeout. So a slice and a soda was over $6, so that was a bit concerning out of the gate, but I don't just based on stuff like that solely. I enjoyed the slice. There was a nice char underneath which I love, good snap to the crust, it was nice and thin, good cheese to sauce ratio. Not much else I can really say about it other than I'm due to head back in. If you're just looking for a slice though, Brother Bruno's - DIdn't Suck!
Sooo the regular pizza is amazing! And the chicken roll was gross.. it was just frozen pre packed chicken and mozzarella. Where is the sauce in the roll?? The real concern is how disgusting it is to watch someone handle my food with BARE hands! Literally asked the guy at the last minute for a pin wheel that caught my eye in the window, and he grabbed it with bare hands and then continued to touch the register after. I think that is the most disgusting thing to do right in front of your customers!! This is why they will get violations over and over again.
Day one of by 2022 Pocono Mountain Adventure. Today, I just arrived at my AirBnB. The homeowner provided a list of the top nearby restaurants, and he said Brother Bruno's pizza is the best in town. I decided to put his claims to the test and ordered a medium plain cheese calzone, a Sicilian pizza with pepperoni, and a mushroom with meatball Neapolitan pizza. The crust for the mushroom and meatball pie was pretty good. However, you can see that the mushrooms seem pretty underdone in the photo. I like them charged and browned, not pale. Meatballs were okay and the price was fine for the area. Also, I wouldn't call this a Neapolitan pizza. Neapolitan is more soggy, saucy, and has a very specific definition that this clearly doesn't meet. Mercurios is Pittsburgh is real Neapolitan. I don't understand why they call this Neapolitan because it definitely isn't, and they know that. 2/5 The Sicilian was decent. The portion was large and the pepperoni was pretty perfect. Not too oily, flavorful, and big. There was an ample amount of cheese. It's bready, but that's what I expect with Sicilian. Pretty pricy though. Overall, a 3.5/5. I try calzones at almost every pizza place I order from. The calzone here is quite good. It's not too bready, not too greasy, and a great size. Again, a bit pricy, but not terrible for the area. You can expect most things to be pricier here. It's loaded with more ricotta than most places I've visited. Very good calzone, but the marinara sauce is only okay. 4/5 What brings this place down a bit for me is the fact that they forgot my calzone, which took about 10 minutes to remake. No big deal though. It's clearly family own and run. Everybody is an authentic Italian! And it's super popular with locals from what I've seen. My only knocks are that the prices are pretty high and the Neapolitan isn't actually Neapolitan and overall I don't recommend that pizza style. It would be a 4 star review if I only had the calzone. The place is good, but maybe try some other shops near it.
Brother Bruno's pizza is no longer the best pizza in town. They are using frozen breaded chicken for the chicken parmigiana slices and crumbled sausage as their sausage slice. I used to eat at Brother Bruno's on a weekly basis but the quality of the food and the service has gone down. My wife and I ordered both the chicken parmigiana slice and sausage with extra cheese slice, they were horrible. We ended up throwing more than half of each slice away and having upset stomachs the rest of the day. If you want to try a good pizza, eat at AJ'S pizza located at 109 Plaza Dr suite 6, Pocono Summit, PA 18346. It's only about 6 minutes west of Brother Bruno's. They give you real chicken and real sausage.
