About Bricks Family Restaurant

Located at 5885 The Crossings Dr within Legoland Resort in Carlsbad, California, Bricks Family Restaurant is presented as a dining option for families and resort guests. While the platform category is Chinese Restaurant, customer reviews provide insights into their buffet offerings for both dinner and breakfast.

Feedback on the dinner buffet at Bricks Family Restaurant is largely negative. One visitor, experiencing it for the first time, strongly advised against it, citing a limited selection, seemingly unhappy employees, and an unattended pasta station. They found the food to be mediocre and not worth the price paid per person, suggesting it was a waste of money and a poor first impression of Legoland. Another review echoed this sentiment regarding the dinner, stating that even with a 20% discount for prepayment (costing around $80 for a family of four), the quality did not justify the expense. While they noted a few good dishes like steak with chimichurri sauce, pork belly, and salads, the overall experience, including a "school cafeteria vibe" with plastic kids' plates and subpar service, was disappointing. This reviewer explicitly recommended exploring the "tons of GREAT restaurants within 10 mins from the resort," sharing that their family had a much better and more affordable dining experience elsewhere on their second night.

In contrast, the breakfast buffet, which was included with a stay at the Legoland California Hotel, received more favorable comments. Guests appreciated the "pretty decent" selection of hot food options, including biscuits and gravy, various sausages, eggs, waffles, and pancakes (with a varied menu over two mornings). This suggests a significant difference in the perceived quality and value between the breakfast and dinner offerings at Bricks Family Restaurant.

In summary, while Bricks Family Restaurant is situated within Legoland Resort and may be a convenient option for guests, particularly for the complimentary breakfast, reviews strongly suggest caution regarding the dinner buffet due to concerns about selection, quality, atmosphere, service, and value. Visitors looking for a more satisfying dinner experience may want to consider dining at the numerous alternative restaurants located just a short drive from the resort. This is regarding the dinner buffet. This was our first time at Legoland Resort and decide to try Bricks' dinner buffet. Don't waste your money. There is barely a selection, employees look unhappy, and there was no one at the pasta station so we couldn't utilize that. Food was mediocre. Not worth what we paid per person. Legoland needs to revamp this place or shut it down. Such a bad first impression for us.

We stayed at legoland California hotel for 2 nights so obviously we got 2 free breakfasts at Bricks. Breakfast buffet (since it was included with the stay) was pretty decent. Great hot food options like biscuits & gravy, different sausages, eggs, waffles, pancakes (different menu on 2 mornings) however I also bought dinner for one night thinking we’d be too tired to drive outside the resort to go eat. Mistake!! For a family of four, including 20% discount (bc I paid in advance when booking) I paid something like $80. I expected something way better for that $. To be fair, they had a few good dishes like steak with chimichurri sauce, pork belly, good salads but def not worth $80. The whole kitchen area gave me a school cafeteria vibe with plastic kids plates and the service wasn’t that great. I don’t mind spending a lot of money on food as long as it’s worth it (bc it would’ve been over $100 normally) but unfortunately this wasn’t.. There are tons of of GREAT restaurants within 10 mins from the resort. We did that the 2nd night and spent $75 for waaayyy better quality food.

Great variety of food and servers are quick to pick up used plates. Only complaint is why isn’t there an ice cream machine at a buffet!? Also the lemonade from the soda machine had a bad taste to it. Other than there was a guy in a banana suit taking photos with the kiddos and clean food area.

This breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Selection changes slightly day to say but there is plenty to choose from, and even fountain drinks! Check in being outside is weird but doable. But we saw loads of people sneaking in from the inside and finding their own seat. No one was watching the exit for that. Make sure to reserve ahead of time. Dinner was much better than expected!! We only did one night, and even at the discounted price was $80 for two adults and two kids! While we enjoyed the food, we elected to get other dinner our other nights for much cheaper. Almost no service, just being seated and then plates cleared. One of the employees got after a family for standing in the walk-in line, even though there was indeed a clearly labeled walk-in line and then doubled down after folks explained this. That was uncomfortable for everyone around and was unprofessional. Multiple types of hot food is lukewarm at best. That's probably the biggest critique I have.

We've been here a few times. The kids always enjoy the food. The atmosphere is very Lego. The last call for food is 8:15 pm, and the last reservation that can be booked is 8pm. There's not much time to eat. It is a bit pricey for a buffet.
