Boon Kai Restaurant (Take out Only)

I'm not sure how this place has such good reviews. Food was pretty bad. Portions were large and not too expensive, but bad food. - Dumplings - too much dough and too thick - Sechuan Beef - order spicy, wasn't spicy at all, but very sweet. Sauce was thick and not tasty. Moo shu - no taste. Really no flavor. Chicken Lo Mein - decent. Not great.

Been our “go to” Chinese food for years. Dinner tonight was so disappointing. Sesame chicken had some kind of new sauce which was blah. Wonton soup tasted heavily of cloves. Rice was a bit underdone. And NO dinner roll! Won’t hurry back, if at all.

This restaurant just disappointed me. I’m NEVER spending my money here again!! My son picked up the food and shared this picture that they proudly displayed in the store. I don’t care what anyone politics are but when you have a diverse customer base, as a small business owner you should stay mute. Like I said before, I will NEVER give my money to support a business owner who is clearly on the wrong side of history. I’m happy that the sign is displayed because just like segregation it just lets me know who you are!!

First time eating there, everything was delicious!! Almond boneless, sesame chicken and chicken lo mein, egg rolls and crab rangoons were all excellent. Already looking forward to my next time.

I cannot comment on the service or atmosphere. I work at the hospital and ordered via Grub Hub. The food tasted fine, although the dumplings were not the kind I was expecting. However, I was not expecting to find a piece of metal that looked like it came from an iron wool type scrubber in my combo dinner. My stomach has been feeling off since I ate lunch and I'm hoping it's just heart burn. I've been trying to call for the the last 25 minutes before close with no success to get through. I see you're not open on Mondays to address my issue tomorrow. I did not have time to call during my busy nursing shift, but I would like to give them a chance to make it right. First time customer. Follow up 4 months later on 01/07/25. No one responded or cared about my complaint. Eat at your own risk.
