About Bonsai China Art

Bonsai China Art is a Chinese restaurant located on Century Plaza Dr in Houston, Texas. According to customer feedback, the restaurant may also operate a buffet under the name China Bear, which appears to have significantly different reviews online.

One customer review explicitly warns against the establishment, stating that searching for "China Bear" reveals "deplorable" reviews alleging issues such as roaches in the food and flies in the soup. This reviewer detailed a very negative experience with the buffet, describing the food as "cold and disgusting" with a severely lacking variety. Specific issues mentioned include cold food, cardboard-like potato salad, rubbery and old-tasting tilapia, and awkwardly warm cheese wontons. The reviewer expressed concern about potential illness and deemed it a "waste of money." They did, however, note that the waiters were "good and attentive" and the art in the restaurant was "pretty."

In stark contrast, another customer shared a positive first-time experience, stating that they and their wife "just loved" the place and found it to be a "great place!"

Given the conflicting reviews and the information suggesting a possible dual identity as "China Bear" with overwhelmingly negative feedback for the buffet, prospective customers of Bonsai China Art should be aware of these differing opinions. The restaurant's features appear to include a buffet option (under the name China Bear) and noteworthy art in the dining area. The service, at least according to one reviewer, can be attentive. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding the food quality and hygiene of the buffet.

No information regarding specific services beyond the buffet and dine-in, the environment beyond the presence of art, or any current promotional information is available in the provided data.

The buffet part is actually called China Bear, but this place pops up And tricked me into going with its 4.2 stars. If you look up China Bear the reviews are deplorable. People find roaches in the food and flies in the soup. For the actual buffet, The food was cold and disgusting. The variety was severely lacking. The potato salad tasted like cardboard. The tilapia was rubbery and tasted like it had been there for hours. The cheese wantons were awkwardly warm like they had been under the warmers also for hours. I hope I don't get sick from eating this food. Waste of money. The waiters were good and attentive. The art is pretty.

A must go ...If you have not eaten here I highly recommend it.the only issue I have is I wish they would clean where all the fish are .but service and food were good especially for a buffet .

My experience at this restaurant left me feeling sad and disappointed, as if it was a complete waste of money. The food was old, stale, dry, and some dishes seemed like they should not have been served. The egg rolls were mushy and tasted expired, while the dumplings felt like they were straight from a store-bought bag. All the bread had severe crusting around the edges, and even the fruit had slime on it, making it seem like they were storing it to reuse for days. The deep-fried fish was stale beyond belief; I couldn't understand how that could even happen. The atmosphere was dull and uninviting, with bad music playing in the background. Although the service staff were friendly enough and kept our water cups full and cleared dirty plates promptly, it did little to make up for the disappointing dining experience.
