About Bonchon Katy

Located at 24437 Katy Fwy #100 in Katy, TX, Bonchon Katy is a restaurant specializing in Korean fried chicken and other Asian-inspired dishes, available primarily for takeaway. While the platform category is listed as Chinese Restaurant, Bonchon is known for its distinct Korean flavors.

Customer reviews present a mixed view of the dining experience. Several reviewers highlighted the exceptional service provided by the cashier, waiter, and even the manager, noting their efficiency and attentiveness. The atmosphere is described as more of a casual spot, like a half-restaurant bar suitable for lunch or after-work relaxation, featuring some patio seating and big screens.

Opinions on the food vary. While some customers found the Korean fried chicken to be just "OK" as a base, they highly praised the sauces, suggesting that if you enjoy saucy wings with Asian flavors, this might be a good option. However, for those who prefer dipping and more emphasis on the chicken itself, there might be better alternatives for the price, with one customer mentioning a cost of $16+ for chicken without drinks or sides.

The fried chicken is described as being without breading, thoroughly cooked, fresh, and having a slight crunch with a golden-brown appearance. Other menu items received mixed reviews, with the kimchi being rated as "ok" and the takoyaki balls as "good."

Countering some of the more moderate reviews, one customer had an overwhelmingly positive experience, referring to Bonchon Katy as an "off the hook AMAZING" Korean BBQ joint (though the primary focus appears to be Korean fried chicken). They specifically recommended the drumsticks and wings with the soy garlic sauce, praising the crispiness. This reviewer strongly suggested eating in-house to fully enjoy the food and commended the attentive and courteous service of a server named Adrian.

Currently, based on the information, Bonchon Katy seems to function more as a takeaway spot, though there is in-house dining available which some reviewers recommend for the best experience. For takeaway orders or inquiries, you can contact Bonchon Katy at (281) 394-9188 or +1 281-394-9188.

The service is great! The food is ok but the price is kinda a turn off for me. I got my order to go, however the cashier, and the waiter were top notch workers! Even the manager was movin. It's more of a half restaurant bar, friday kick back spot more than a full fledged restaurant, some patio seating big screens ect.... If you want a chill spot for lunch or after work. The food I got people telling me K-fried is life changing... I went to the wrong place or my peeps dont have the same taste buds and i shouldn't talk to them anymore. ( Im a start with a good base, then everything else is a plus person ) the chicken being the base is just OK! The sauces are great!! If you like saucy wings with that Asian flavor this might be the spot if youre a sauce on the side dip and rip person theres better places for the price. $16+ no drink or sides. Fried chicken without the breading, thoroughly cooked and fresh has a slight crunch, golden brown They kimchi was ok... The takoyaki balls were good!

Disregard the 3.9 rating!! It's completely MISLEADING!! We've decided to come try out this Korean BBQ joint and it was off the hook AMAZING!! Our server, Adrian, was attentive and courteous, and it's no surprise... He is will be serving the Navy soon (thank you for your commitment!!). Back to the food.... We got the drumsticks and wings, as well as the loaded fries and potstickers. The crisp was ON POINT and I recommend the soy garlic sauce. Pics don't do it justice. This is a hidden gem off I-10...do yourself a favor and come here to try it for yourself. This is not something you order online to eat... You have to eat this in house to enjoy it the right way. We will be back!!!

Extremely disappointed by the food and service. We had to grab our own menus on the way to our table. We waited about 25 mins for our food, and when the wings came out, they were cold as if they were just sitting in the back and were smaller than we remember. We asked our waiter for the bulgogi fries we ordered, waited other 10 mins for it, and they came out with cold cheese on top??? We ate the wings since we were obviously hungry but left majority of the fries untouched. No point in complaining because I didn’t want to be stuck there another hour waiting for mediocre food. There were also random people going in and out of the kitchen, talking/joking around with the staff while they had other customers on the floor.

I was so happy to try this place, but they turned me off completely. When I walked in, the server took 10 mins to recognize me while not crowded on Thursday evening. I order medium size of mixed chickens which are 10 wings & 5 drumsticks, cost me $30.99. However, I got only 6 wings and 3 drumsticks, cost $16.99. I was so disappointed about it. I tried to call, the phone number was busy, couldn’t even dial. I’m not sure the restaurant work this way or the server’ mistake on that day. The chickens were not fresh at all, and so dried. The tekkbokki that I had so soupy, tasteless. I had been at Korea, and couple Korean restaurants, this place is the worst. I don’t recommend this location at all tbh. Should I open the food I ordered and count in front of the server?! You guys let me know :)

The chicken didn't compare to other Bonchon locations I've been to. The sauce was lighter, lacked spice and flavor and the chicken was a but dry in places. It wasn't a bad experience and the service was attentive and, overall, excellent - but I'd recommend other Korean places long before this one.
