About Bobo China

Bobo China is a Chinese restaurant located at 270 E Hunt Hwy #8 in San Tan Valley, AZ 85143, serving the local community with a variety of Chinese dishes. You can reach them at (480) 888-2288 or their mobile number +1 480-888-2288 for inquiries or to place an order. Based on recent online reviews, the restaurant has undergone an ownership change, which appears to have impacted the dining experience for some long-time customers.

According to one enthusiastic review, Bobo China was considered "one of the best restaurants" by a customer who had been ordering from them for nearly two years. This reviewer and their wife expressed a strong love for the food, highlighting the super generous portions and delicious, flavorful dishes. In particular, they praised the boneless spare ribs as the best char siu they had ever had, noting its inexpensive price. The orange chicken was also singled out as the best available. This customer mentioned a positive in-person ordering experience, describing the family running the restaurant as nice and generous.

However, a more recent review from a customer who had been a loyal patron of Bobo China for about ten years paints a different picture. This reviewer noted a decline in food flavor quality recently and attributed it to a change in ownership. Consequently, they stated they would no longer be ordering from the restaurant. A final attempt to order confirmed their concerns. The wanton soup, previously a favorite, was described as bland even with the addition of soy sauce. The chicken chow mein, a favorite of the reviewer's daughter, featured soggy and tasteless noodles, and flavorless chicken. Even the orange chicken, once a family favorite, was reported to have a fishy aftertaste, leading to strong disappointment. The only positive remark from this reviewer was that the new owners were very friendly. This customer expressed a strong sense of missing the "OG Bobo china!!!"

Considering these two contrasting recent reviews, it is evident that there has been a significant shift in the perception of Bobo China, likely due to the change in ownership. The earlier positive review highlights generous portions and flavorful dishes like the boneless spare ribs and orange chicken, along with friendly service from the original family. This suggests that Bobo China, under its previous management, had established a reputation for quality and customer satisfaction within the local community.

The more recent negative review, however, raises concerns about the current state of the food. The reported lack of flavor in previously reliable dishes such as the wanton soup and chicken chow mein, as well as the unpleasant fishy aftertaste in the orange chicken, indicates a potential decline in food quality. While the new owners are acknowledged for their friendliness, this alone was not enough to compensate for the perceived drop in the standard of the cuisine for this long-time customer.

For local users in San Tan Valley considering Bobo China, it is important to be aware of these differing recent experiences. If you had enjoyed Bobo China under its previous ownership, your experience with the new management might vary. The positive review suggests that some aspects, such as portion sizes, might still be generous, and perhaps some dishes continue to be well-received by new customers. However, the negative review serves as a significant warning about potential issues with flavor and overall food quality.

Without further information regarding the current environment of the restaurant (dine-in atmosphere, cleanliness, etc.) or any specific promotional offers, it is difficult to provide a more comprehensive introduction. The available information primarily focuses on the food quality and service aspects, which appear to be in a state of transition following the change in ownership. Potential customers might want to consider trying a small order initially to assess the current food quality for themselves, especially if they were familiar with Bobo China before the ownership change. Alternatively, they might want to seek more recent reviews from other local users to get a broader understanding of the current customer experience.

In conclusion, Bobo China in San Tan Valley is a Chinese restaurant that has recently undergone an ownership transition. While it previously enjoyed a reputation for delicious and flavorful food with generous portions and friendly service, recent feedback indicates a potential decline in food quality, with complaints about blandness and unpleasant flavors in some dishes. Local users should be aware of these contrasting experiences when considering dining or ordering from Bobo China and might want to proceed with caution or seek more up-to-date reviews.

This is one of the best restaurants. Been ordering here for nearly 2 years. My wife and I LOVE this place. Portions are super generous, food is so delicious and flavorful. Boneless spare ribs are the best char siu I’ve ever had and so inexpensive. Orange chicken is the best OC you can find. We love to order from here. I’ve been in to order in person once, and the family is so nice and generous!

Bobo China has been my go-to for delicious Chinese food for about 10 years or so. The flavors WERE always on point. But recently the food has been seriously lacking flavors. Then I found out about the ownership change and sadly,I will no longer be ordering from here. I tried it one last time tonight. The wanton soup (my favorite) was so bland. Even adding soy sauce didn't help. My daughter's favorite is the chicken chow mein... noodles were soggy and tasteless. Even the chicken within the chow mein was flavorless. The orange chicken a family favorite, had a fishy aftertaste. NO THANK YOU. So disappointed. Only thing I can say about the new ppl is that they are very friendly... Really Missing the OG Bobo china!!!

The entire experience was unpleasant. Ordering our food was confusing, and pricing was unclear. Food was brought to the table in a cardboard box. The food was not very good. When we were done, we had to bus our own table, including carrying our garbage outside to the shopping center's trash can. We were very disappointed.

I don’t are what anyone says, whether the prices go up or down I will be a forever customer. Every single time I order, it is always hot and fresh and tastes amazing, even when place a door dash order. Everyone there is exceptionally friendly and it definitely is a family owned atmosphere. I truly appreciate the kindness they’ve always shown my family and I :)

UPDATE: OCT 25. Bobo is STILL high on my list for food taste and quality, price, variety. Ordered the Treasures of the Sea Combination Dinner. This is a LARGE portion loaded with shrimp and scallops and fresh veggies. For my sides I had fried rice and wonton soup. Once again, they've nailed the soup. Crystal-clear light broth with pieces of Chinese cabbage. Also ordered the ribs (HUGE & MEATY) and the fried battered shrimp. It was a busy Sunday night and I was told to expect up to an hour wait for delivery but was pleased when the food was delivered in about 30 minutes. One question - what's with the $1 convenience fee? My order total before delivery and tip was over $30 and the convenience fee annoyed me. That said, they did include a complementary egg roll and fried wonton! See my new pics. Are you kidding me! The wonton soup is a meal in itself! Too many restaurants serve over-cooked wontons falling apart in a dark salty broth with no garnish. Not Bobo! The broth was delicate, light and seasoned perfectly. The wontons were fresh and firm. This soup was loaded with a lot of wontons and also chicken, shrimp and bok choy. You have to try this. And my entree was the scallops with veggies. I'm talking LARGE fresh scallops, perfectly cooked. Lastly, the chicken lettuce wraps were spot on. The lettuce was chilled and crispy and the diced chicken was very savory. Pricing is excellent.
