About Bo Lings

Located at 9576 Quivira Rd in Lenexa, Kansas, Bo Lings is a Chinese restaurant that offers a range of dining options, including both traditional Chinese dishes and some with an Americanized flair. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Bo Lings aims to cater to a variety of palates within the local community. They can be contacted at (913) 888-6618 or via their mobile number +1 913-888-6618 for reservations or inquiries.

According to customer feedback, the environment and décor of Bo Lings are generally considered "nice," suggesting a pleasant and potentially upscale atmosphere for diners. This could make it an appealing choice for various occasions, from casual lunches to more formal dinners. The ambiance seems to be a positive aspect of the overall dining experience at Bo Lings.

However, the service aspect appears to have received mixed reviews. One customer who had not visited in a few years noted that the service "needs work." They specifically mentioned having to ask twice for plates for appetizers and experiencing a delay in receiving an additional tea cup. This indicates potential inconsistencies in attentiveness and responsiveness from the service staff. Another reviewer did not explicitly comment on the service speed but did mention that the food took "a bit to come out," which might also be perceived as a service-related factor.

The food at Bo Lings seems to be a point of varied experiences and opinions. One reviewer found the chicken in the lettuce wraps to be "extremely salty," which significantly detracted from their meal. This negative experience with a specific dish might deter them from returning. In contrast, a reviewer with a background in authentic Chinese cuisine from California had a more nuanced perspective. They noted that while their previous experience with Bo Lings' dim sum was "pretty good," their recent dinner experience was "a little disappointing" due to what they perceived as an "American flare" to some of the dishes. Specifically, they found the shu mai to lack authenticity and the honey walnut shrimp and chicken to be less than optimal, with the chicken being dry. However, they did find the flavor of these dishes to be "good." On a more positive note, this reviewer praised the beef chow fun as "great" and found all the dumplings to be "decent." This suggests that while some dishes might cater more to an Americanized palate, others retain qualities that are appreciated even by those with experience in authentic Chinese cuisine.

The pricing at Bo Lings, as indicated by one reviewer's lunch bill of $80 for two people, suggests that it might be positioned as a mid-to-higher-priced Chinese restaurant, especially for lunch. This price point, coupled with the reported issues with service and the mixed feedback on food quality, led this reviewer to express reluctance to return unless improvements are made.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Bo Lings based on these reviews. To inquire about any ongoing specials, discounts, or promotions, it would be best to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers. Restaurants sometimes offer lunch specials, early bird discounts, or other promotions that are not mentioned in general reviews.

In conclusion, Bo Lings in Lenexa, Kansas, offers a Chinese dining experience with a reportedly nice ambiance. However, customer reviews indicate potential areas for improvement in service, with mentions of slow or inattentive staff. The food quality seems to be inconsistent, with one dish being overly salty and others perceived as having an Americanized taste, although some items like the beef chow fun and dumplings received positive feedback. The pricing suggests a potentially more expensive option for lunch. For those considering Bo Lings, it's important to weigh the positive comments about the atmosphere against the concerns raised about service and the authenticity of some dishes. If you appreciate a pleasant setting and are open to Americanized Chinese cuisine alongside some more traditional options, Bo Lings might be worth a try. Contacting the restaurant directly for any current promotions or to inquire about specific dishes is recommended.

We had not been to Bolings in a few years. The atmosphere & decor was nice. The service needs work. We had to ask twice for plates for our appetizers. Waiting again for an additional tea cup. The chicken for the lettuce wraps was extremely salty. The bill was $80 for two people at lunch. Probably won’t return unless something changes.

Let me preface by saying I am Chinese and grew up eating really great Chinese food in California. So I really really wanted Bo lings to be good and I had high hopes 🤞 because I’ve had their dim sum before and it was pretty good. So we came to try their normal dinner and it was a little disappointing to me because there was definitely an American flare to it. The shu mai didn’t taste authentic. The honey walnut shrimp and chicken wasn’t the best either. Chicken was dry. Flavor was good though. The beef chow fun was great, I do like that one. And all the dumplings were decent as well 🥟. I think just the overall taste was not as authentic as I hoped for. But if you are an American and can’t tell the difference, I think this place would be great! 👍 The food did take a bit to come out also but that’s ok!

Came for dinner with my dad at 5 pm. Ordered hot sake to start and it took a solid 10 minutes for the drinks to come out. The restaurant was completely empty, maybe 1 other table was seated so I’m not sure what took so long. Ordered the orange peel chicken and it was delicious and fresh, the food here never disappoints. My dad said his chicken and broccoli had no flavor but I would come back for the orange peel chicken.

Bff needs to return a blouse she bought 🙄 (it's a habit). Off we go to one of her favorite all in one shopping places-119th and Nall. She returns blouse and buys 2 more items 🤣. We saunter around and I'm hungry and she mentions Bo Lings. I've never been nor heard about it. SO, let's go! We enter and are immediately greeted and shown to our servers "favorite booth". Bff tells me this is her favorite Chinese restaurant and when my hot and sour soup arrives, I agree! WOW! JEEPERS! this soup is NOT watery (like alot of others). It's loaded with full sliced mushrooms, tofu, etc, and has a significant hot taste that actually warms my throat. EXCELLENT. The Sapporo beer is a recommendation from our server and rounds out the hot taste with a mild IPA. My luncheon general toas chicken is drenched in a thick and spicy sauce and the chicken is all white meat-no mystery dark meat here! It's served with my choice of fried rice. The fried rice is not dry and crunchy, it's moist and delicate. I don't even need to douse my meal with soy sauce! It's a musical without accompaniments because you don't need it! Service is friendly and be advised it's a perfect slow yet timely. Food is prepared as ordered so nothing tastes like it comes from a "warmer" and dished up and thrown on the food pass from thr kitchen. Bathroom is super clean-love the succulent plant (adorable). Beautiful food presentation and a truly hearty meal that is affordable. I'm really hoping they open a restaurant in larryville! 👍

Portions are so small for the price. Two entrees and Crab Rangoon for 50 plus $?! You get double of the same quality of food at several family owned Thai or Chinese restaurants within a 2 mile radius. Used to love this location but their portions have just kept decreasing steadily over time.
