About Bo Lings
Welcome to Bo Lings, a Chinese restaurant located at 8670 NW Prairie View Rd in Kansas City, Missouri. You can contact them at (816) 587-7880 or via their mobile number at +1 816-587-7880 for inquiries or to place an order. As a Chinese restaurant serving the Kansas City area, Bo Lings presents a complex picture based on the available customer reviews, with some patrons reporting significant issues with food quality while others praise the service and certain dishes.
One particularly critical review strongly advises against dining at Bo Lings, stating, "Do not waste your money or calories here; it’s disgusting." This reviewer detailed several negative experiences with specific menu items. The egg rolls were described as "refried and drenched in oil," suggesting poor preparation and an unappetizing texture. The dumplings were labeled "a mess—half-cooked and poorly prepared," raising serious concerns about food safety and culinary execution. This reviewer concluded by stating that the food was fit only for the trash, indicating a complete dissatisfaction with their meal.
In stark contrast to this highly negative feedback, another reviewer had a much more positive experience, highlighting the "friendly staff" and the "quick" service. They also noted that the staff was attentive, "always making sure we were doing okay." This positive feedback regarding the service suggests that Bo Lings has staff members who are courteous and efficient in their interactions with customers, contributing to a pleasant service experience for some diners.
Furthermore, this second reviewer found the "food was really good!" and specifically raved about the "Crab Rangoon," stating they were their "FAVE by far" and including a positive emoji. This indicates that at least one dish at Bo Lings is highly enjoyable for some customers, suggesting potential variability in the quality of different menu items or perhaps inconsistencies in food preparation over time.
The significant divergence in these two reviews makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of Bo Lings. While one customer experienced severely underprepared and unappetizing food, another found the service to be excellent and a specific dish to be a standout favorite. This discrepancy suggests that potential customers might have varied experiences depending on the dishes they order or perhaps the consistency of the kitchen's output on different occasions.
The reviews do not provide specific details about the environment or ambiance of Bo Lings. Therefore, it is not possible to describe the dining area or the overall atmosphere of the restaurant based on the available information. Similarly, there is no mention of any particular features of the restaurant, such as a buffet, takeout options, or delivery services, although it can be inferred that takeout is likely available given the nature of most Chinese restaurants.
Additionally, there is no promotional information included in the provided reviews. This means there are no details about lunch specials, discounts, or any other offers that Bo Lings might be running to attract customers. Local users would need to inquire directly with the restaurant to learn about any current promotions.
Given the conflicting feedback, local users considering dining at Bo Lings should be aware of the potential for a negative experience regarding food quality, as highlighted by one reviewer's strong condemnation of the egg rolls and dumplings. However, they should also note the positive feedback regarding the friendly and quick service, as well as the enthusiastic endorsement of the crab rangoon by another customer. It might be prudent for first-time visitors to inquire about the preparation of certain dishes or perhaps stick to items that have received positive mentions in reviews, such as the crab rangoon, while being mindful of the reported inconsistencies in other areas.
In conclusion, Bo Lings in Kansas City is a Chinese restaurant that elicits strong but contrasting opinions from its customers. While the friendly and efficient service and the delicious crab rangoon are notable positives, significant concerns have been raised about the quality and preparation of other dishes like the egg rolls and dumplings. Without further information about the environment, additional features, or any promotional offerings, potential diners should weigh these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to patronize Bo Lings. The wide disparity in feedback suggests a need for caution and perhaps selective ordering based on the limited positive mentions.

Do not waste your money or calories here; it’s disgusting. The egg rolls were refried and drenched in oil. The dumplings were a mess—half-cooked and poorly prepared. The best place for this is the trash.
Friendly staff. Quick with orders and always making sure we were doing okay. Food was really good! Crab Rangoon were my FAVE by far 🤤
Terrible. We paid $35 for a small beef chow fun and 6 crab rangoons. The crab rangoons used to be homemade and delicious so I didn't mind playing a little extra in the past, but these are frozen and taste even worse than what you would get at a much cheaper Chinese restaurant and they are charging the same price for the homemade ones. It's ridiculous. We usually order from the location on the plaza so maybe this particular location is not as high quality. I will not be going back. Save your money.
I have been to a lot of Chinese restaurants and I will have to say this one is truly top notch. The meal selection, customer service, environment and presentation of the food was enjoyable. I went here for a first date, for the first time and I would definitely recommend this location for a meet and greet or business or family gathering. It is in close proximity to so many other department stores and events within walking distance.
I love Chinese food, came here despite the mixed reviews. The server was attentive and got our order, drinks were just okay so would stick with beer next time. All of the food came out fresh and hot. While the prices are a bit high, there were plenty of leftovers. We will be back.
