Blue Island Seafood

The food is usually good but this experience was not pleasant. The meal was FULL of eggshells!! Unfortunately, simply returning to the restaurant was not an option. We live nowhere near the restaurant but we usually enjoy the food so we don't mind the commute. Well, until today

First time visiting, decent size restaurant and good food portions for the price. We ordered BBQ Shrimp fried rice, Pad Thai combo, Squid with salt and pepper and some Sushi rolls. The food did not dissapoint.

This is a great place to get seafood, Chinese food and sushi. If you order enough sushi it will be delivered to you in a cute little wooden boat! There are many varieties of sushi not just your common California roll. The parking lot is small and finding parking can be hard. Regardless it is worth to dine in. The restaurant is split into two parts one for carry out and one for dine in.

I've been here dozens of times. I only have received carry out but they do have dine in. I usually order orange chicken because it's consistent and tastes good. Food- I ordered Mongolian chicken rice and egg rolls. It was alright. The shrimp fried rice didn’t have much shrimp in it. So I didn’t eat most of it. I liked the vegetables and sauce more so than the chicken in the Mongolian because the chicken tasted kind of old especially when it wasn’t hot. Basically it didn’t taste fresh. Egg rolls were better than it all. Service- I HATED IT. The guy with the thick glasses at the cash register was really rude. (There’s two males with glasses) I was confused at first about being charged $1.00 to separate my food. But I’m assuming it was because of the containers so okay that’s fine. However, I had to pay tax on it which I didn’t agree with. So when I asked about why the $1 charge has to include taxes, the guy was very short, cold, and unprofessional in his tone. This was over the phone btw. I HAD to check him when I got to the place but he’s the reason why I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Very poor customer service skills. Btw, this is not a convenience store so charging $1.10 for disposable food boxes is unnecessary and not accommodating at all. I stand on that. Anyway! Atmosphere- Nothing special about it. I don’t praise Buddha so the statues and stuff don’t impress me. 👎🏾 DO BETTER!
