About Big Wok Chinese Fast Food
Welcome to Big Wok Chinese Fast Food, a newly reopened Chinese fast food restaurant located at 3253 Santa Anita Ave Ste. B in El Monte, California. For many local residents, Big Wok Chinese Fast Food marks the return of a beloved eatery, as it was formerly known as New Wok and was situated on Peck Rd. This reopening has been met with considerable enthusiasm from long-time customers who have eagerly awaited the chance to once again enjoy their favorite dishes. If you're a local user in El Monte looking for a reliable and satisfying Chinese fast food experience, Big Wok Chinese Fast Food comes highly recommended by its loyal patrons.
You can find Big Wok Chinese Fast Food at 3253 Santa Anita Ave Ste. B, El Monte, CA 91733, USA. They can be contacted at (657) 217-2224 or via mobile at +1 657-217-2224 for orders or inquiries. The excitement surrounding their reopening is evident in customer reviews, with one patron even expressing overwhelming joy at being able to eat their food again after a period of absence.
Based on customer feedback, Big Wok Chinese Fast Food has a strong reputation for several key aspects. Their signature chow mein is consistently highlighted as being exceptionally delicious, with one reviewer stating that no other place compares. This suggests that their chow mein is a must-try item and a significant draw for many customers. In addition to their chow mein, the egg rolls are also praised as being delicious, indicating another popular and well-prepared item on their menu.
Another significant feature of Big Wok Chinese Fast Food is the generous portion sizes they offer. Customers have repeatedly mentioned that the food quantity is substantial, providing excellent value for money. This is further supported by the pricing information provided in one review, where a 2-item combo is priced around $10-$11, and a 3-item combo is approximately $12.49. These prices, combined with the large portions, suggest that Big Wok Chinese Fast Food offers an affordable and filling meal option.
Upon their reopening at the new location, some customers have noted slight changes in certain dishes. One reviewer mentioned that the rice during their recent visit was a bit too salty and tasted slightly different from what they remembered. While this indicates a potential inconsistency or change in recipe, it's important to note that this was a single observation amidst overwhelmingly positive feedback, particularly regarding their signature items.
On a positive note regarding their new beginning, another customer who had been eagerly waiting for the reopening shared their recent experience trying several dishes, including broccoli beef, mushroom chicken, orange chicken with chow mein, and a side order of shrimp fried rice. They reported that all the food tasted very fresh and the flavors were amazing. Furthermore, they echoed the sentiment about the generous portions, stating that the amount of food received was "too good for the price" and sufficient for the entire day. This review highlights the potential for high-quality and flavorful dishes at the new location.
Historically, under their previous name New Wok, the restaurant offered vegetarian and pescatarian options. However, a recent review noted that these options were no longer available at the time of their visit to the new location. The customer expressed hope that Big Wok Chinese Fast Food would consider reintroducing more vegetable and seafood choices to cater to a broader range of dietary preferences. This suggests an area where the restaurant could potentially expand its menu to attract more customers.
While specific details about the environment and ambiance of the new location are not extensively described in the provided reviews, the strong positive sentiment towards the food and the excitement surrounding the reopening suggest that the focus remains on delivering quality fast food at a good value. The fact that long-time customers have sought out the new location and expressed such positive reactions indicates that the core appeal of their food has been maintained.
There is no specific promotional information mentioned in the reviews. However, the affordable pricing of their combo meals and the generous portion sizes could be considered an ongoing value proposition for customers.
For local users in El Monte and those familiar with the previous New Wok on Peck Rd, Big Wok Chinese Fast Food at their new location on Santa Anita Ave appears to be a welcome return. The consistent praise for their chow mein and egg rolls, coupled with the large portions and reasonable prices, makes it a compelling option for Chinese fast food. While there might be some slight variations in certain dishes, the overall feedback is overwhelmingly positive, with customers appreciating the freshness and flavor of their meals. The potential reintroduction of vegetarian and pescatarian options could further enhance their appeal to a wider audience.

Customer Reviews
They used to be New Wok on Peck Rd next to the dealership in the shopping center! They are the best Wok in El Monte! I almost cried after eating their food. We tried other Woks from 5 different cities, NONE of them compare! Have been a customer since I was a kid! So happy they are reopen! It’s our first visit to their new location. Their rice in this visit was a bit too salty and taste slightly different too. But, their signature chow mein is SO good! No other place compares! Their egg roles are also delicious too! Their food quantity is just as big too! You really get your bang for your buck: 2 combo is like $10-$11 and the 3 combo is $12.49ish. They used to have vegetarian/pescatarian options, but not anymore. I hope they have more veggie and seafood options!
We’ve been waiting for this place to open and was finally able to taste it today! We’ve got broccoli beef, mushroom chicken, orange chicken with chow mein, with the side order of shrimp fried rice. All the food tasted so fresh and the flavor was amazing. The portion is too good for the price. It’s enough for the day.
Honestly you cannot beat this place for the quality of food, lightning fast service, and price. You can tell that everyone here deeply cares about providing good chinese food while balancing cost. My personal favorite is the bbq pork but it always sells out quick so you have to make sure to go there earlier. I’d prefer this place over panda any day.
Smells good when you get there. Food looks good and is good. Got the BBQ pork had yo pay 2 extra dollars for a mid size portion. I'm already paying for a 2 entree and they charge extra for bbq pork that is not the best I have ever had. That's what brought those stars down. Never been to a place that charges extra for bbq pork. Orange chicken is good. Rice and chow mien are what you would expect from a spot like this. Nothing extra ordinary and great.
Do yourself a favor and get the house special fried rice with shrimp and make it spicy! Flavor definitely isn’t lacking at this place. Great service and can’t wait to come back!
