Big Trio Wonton Noodle 大三元 - Scarborough

Very large noodle restaurant with comfortable seating. Did not need to wait for a table. Noodles are served quickly and hot. Portion sizes are large at affordable prices. This plaza has lots of restaurants and 2 grocery stores, so it can be difficult to find parking. I will return to this restaurant.

I used to come very often when it was still at the Brimley, Sheppard location. Now it is too far for a casual visit. Still great tasting, lots of tables available, and fast service. I always order Shrimp Wonton Noodles (the flat white rice noodles) with lots of chilli oil (2-3 full scoops). I like it SUPER spicy. Photos added this time. 11 dollars for the shrimp wonton noodles. This is our go to place where I take my mom. Place is clean, spacious and service is fast. Normally order the rice noodles with shrimp wontons. The shrimps are not purée it’s chunky so you hear that snap when you bite into it. Very rare that you can still order this dish for under $10. I love the old school dinnerware.

I ordered the shrimp wonton with noodle and deep-fried fish skin. I love the soup, and the wonton is huge. The fish skin does not have a fishy after taste. I would definitely come back again.

Came here for the authentic Hong Kong wonton noodles and was not disappointed. The service, decor and food are all exactly as expected. The wontons here are large. The skin is thin and filings are fresh. The shrimp wontons have a large shrimp in addition to shrimp and pork paste. The flavor is simply the sweetness of shrimps and mild white pepper and other spices. The egg noodles were cooked to the perfect toothsome texture. It was also flavored by the amazing seafood broth. If you prefer a dryer style, the lo mein is excellent for tasting the egg in the noodle and umami in the sauce. As a side dish, the beef brisket and tripe are not to be underestimated. The broth that it was cooked in are exquisite, with the soy sauce, star anise, bay leaves and cane sugar. This is the flavor of traditional beef brisket in marinade. However, the briskets were still a little chewy, which may be different on another less busy day, allowing a longer cook time. All in all, big trio wonton noodles are amazing. I will be back with friends again soon.
