First time at this location and everything was GREAT! You approach like a kiosk to place your order and get a number for your table and the food is brought as it’s ready. Food was hot & so fresh plus delicious . Atmosphere & ambiance was relaxing and so nice, including the service and employees. Ordered multiple dishes such as the miso soup, pork dumplings, crab rangoon and Drunken Noodles. Everything was outstanding and I can’t wait to return!

I don’t usually leave many reviews—only when the experience is either exceptionally good or extremely bad. Unfortunately, today’s review falls into the latter category. I have been a regular at Bento since 2015, approaching a decade now. I typically visit the Sand Lake location and vividly remember when servers used to attend to tables. The food quality was outstanding, and it was my wife’s and my favorite restaurant. However, each time I visit now, the experience gets worse. The person managing this location seems completely unaware of the current state of the restaurant. The table in front of the soda machine has been wobbly for over a year and has never been fixed. The restrooms are increasingly dirty. The kiosk does not properly scan barcodes for beverages. And today—on a Friday, a day that used to be packed during lunchtime—there were only three occupied tables. In short, whoever is managing this restaurant has successfully ruined one of Dr. Phillips’ best dining spots. This is a clear example of poor administration. If it’s the manager, they should be replaced. If it’s the owner, I strongly urge you to reconsider your decisions because you are heading in the wrong direction.

We’ve always loved Bento and want to give it 5 stars, but a drastic change to the teriyaki chicken forces us to drop it to 2 stars for now. They stopped flame-grilling it, and what was once our favorite dish—bursting with BBQ flavor—has become a bland, steamed version that tastes like Panda Express. It’s a shame they altered a product that was already perfect, turning it from our go-to item to something we’ll never order again. Bento is a great place, and we adore the staff—they’re incredibly friendly, welcoming, and make every visit a joy. Their warmth and excellent service keep us coming back and recommending it to friends and family. The katsu and other dishes remain fantastic, but we’ll steer people away from the teriyaki. We’re open to updating our review if they bring back the original flame-grilled recipe—here’s hoping! Thank you to the amazing team for everything else!

Had a great experience ordering takeout today. It wasn't busy at 3pm and I made my order easily inside from a big touch screen monitor. It allowed me to customize my pokebowl ingredients perfectly. Barely a wait, the food was brought out hot in 10 minutes! Everything was delicious. Thank you so much.

Not enough meat. Rice had no salt, no flavor. It was basically just unseasoned rice with a litlle bit of meat. My husband ordered a poke bowl and it was ok.
