About Ben's Chinese Food

Welcome to Ben's Chinese Food, a Chinese restaurant located at 10262 Rosecrans Ave in Bellflower, CA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Ben's Chinese Food primarily serves as a takeout establishment, offering a range of familiar American Chinese dishes at prices that are considered fair, especially in the current economic climate. Based on recent customer reviews, Ben's Chinese Food provides a budget-friendly option for those seeking a quick and convenient Chinese meal.

One of the frequently mentioned aspects of Ben's Chinese Food is its affordability. Customers have noted that the prices are "very fair" and "decent," particularly when considering the general trend of businesses increasing prices. This makes Ben's Chinese Food an attractive option for those looking for a cost-effective meal. The restaurant also offers a lunch menu, which is specifically praised for its price point, suggesting even greater value during lunchtime hours.

In terms of food, customer experiences have been somewhat varied. The beef broccoli, a popular American Chinese dish, was described as "good for the price." However, one reviewer noted that it was "a bit on the saltier side." This indicates that while the dish is satisfactory for its cost, it might not cater to those sensitive to salt. On a more positive note, the complimentary soup that comes with some orders, particularly the lunch menu, was described as "really good," suggesting a pleasant and potentially flavorful addition to the meal.

Another customer ordered the Mongolian Beef dinner combo and Ben's noodle soup. The Mongolian Beef was noted to be different from the traditional preparation, resembling more of a "pepper beef with a lot of onions" or a "peppered steak style beef." While the customer did not find it to taste bad, it lacked the expected flavor profile of Mongolian Beef. This suggests that some dishes at Ben's Chinese Food might have their own interpretations, which may or may not align with customers' expectations of classic dishes.

The Ben's noodle soup received a more positive review, with the customer noting that it was "good" and contained a "decent amount of protein." However, a textural issue was mentioned regarding the noodles, which were described as having "more of an over cooked spaghetti noodle texture" rather than the preferred egg noodles, which did not appear to be on the menu. This highlights a potential area for improvement or a difference in style that might not appeal to all preferences.

Overall, the sentiment from the reviews suggests that Ben's Chinese Food provides a typical Chinese takeout experience. One reviewer explicitly stated, "It's your typical Chinese takeout, didn't get a taste of any authenticity or it's own flavor to say this is Ben's Chinese food." This implies that while the food is generally acceptable, it might not offer unique or particularly authentic flavors that distinguish it from other similar establishments. However, for those seeking familiar American Chinese takeout without a strong emphasis on unique flavors, Ben's Chinese Food could still be a viable option due to its affordability.

The service experience at Ben's Chinese Food appears to be positive. One customer who walked in near closing time was served by a lady who they believed might be the owner and described her as "nice." This suggests that the staff, at least in this instance, was friendly and accommodating. Efficient and courteous service can contribute significantly to the overall customer experience, even in a primarily takeout setting.

Information regarding the environment of Ben's Chinese Food is limited, as the reviews primarily focus on the food and service aspects of a takeout experience. As a typical Chinese takeout restaurant, it likely has a functional space for order placement and pickup, with perhaps limited or no dine-in facilities. The emphasis seems to be on providing quick and affordable meals for customers to enjoy elsewhere.

Features of Ben's Chinese Food include its affordable pricing, especially the lunch menu, and the provision of complimentary soup with some orders. The menu offers a range of standard American Chinese dishes, although some, like the Mongolian Beef, might have unique preparations. The availability of familiar dishes at reasonable prices is a key feature that appeals to budget-conscious customers in the Bellflower area.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. The main draw appears to be the consistent affordability of their menu items. Local users looking for budget-friendly Chinese takeout in Bellflower might find Ben's Chinese Food a suitable option. To stay informed about any potential future promotions or menu updates, it would be advisable to contact the restaurant directly or check local online food ordering platforms.

In conclusion, Ben's Chinese Food in Bellflower offers an affordable option for those seeking typical American Chinese takeout. While some dishes, like the beef broccoli, might be saltier than preferred, and others, like the Mongolian Beef, might have non-traditional preparations, the prices are considered fair, especially the lunch menu. The complimentary soup is a noted positive. The service, at least in one instance, was described as nice. For local users prioritizing cost-effectiveness and familiar flavors in their Chinese takeout, Ben's Chinese Food is a business worth considering, although it might not be the first choice for those seeking unique or highly authentic culinary experiences.

Walked in towards closing time. The lady that took my order may be the owner and she was nice. I ordered a Mongolian Beef dinner combo and Ben's noodle soup. The beef was more like a pepper beef with a lot of onions. It didn't taste bad, it was more of a peppered steak style beef than Mongolian. The soup was good. It came with a decent amount of protein. However, the noodles had more of an over cooked spaghetti noodle texture. I prefer egg noodles but don't believe it was on the menu. Would I order from there again, maybe, just to give other items a shot. It's your typical Chinese takeout, didn't get a taste of any authenticity or it's own flavor to say this is Ben's Chinese food. I would patronize the business but not the first place to run to and get my fix. Oh ya, the prices are very fair considering the current conditions of business trying to hike prices. Their prices are decent
