Bell's Tavern

Had dinner with friends on Valentines day. Very nice atmosphere. It smelled SO good when we walked in. Cocktail's were great. Good service. The food was great. My Veal chop was cooked perfect. I would definitely go back. The only reason for the 4 star rating. The polenta was terrible. It was bland and tasted like cardboard.

A cozy gem! The food is always so delicious and fulfilling. The wine menu always has some great hits. The seating is cozy and the service is friendly. It’s the kind of place you bring your friends/family when you want a reliable, delicious meal & a cozy, friendly experience. You may have to wait a little bit, as it is a small spot,but it’s well worth the wait.

We were really excited to eat here after hearing about it from a foodie friend who highly recommended it. Unfortunately this experience was a big miss for us. The music at the bar was so loud it made the dining room feel chaotic. The waitress was 0% affable. We were in and out in 35 minutes. Not exactly the relaxing Saturday night Italian dinner we had in mind. The best parts of this meal were the wine and the citrus salad. My dinner was a pound of pasta thrown in a dish with sauce that was like a dry Alfredo (was supposed to be carbonera) and there was almost no pancetta. Both pasta dishes had little flavor (the other being marinara). When they were brought out to us the man delivering them had his hands on the side of the bowl. They were very busy and seemed ill equipped to deal with it. Maybe I’m missing something here because a lot of the reviews are great but this just was not a good experience all the way around.

Great little tavern- excellent service by Rosemarie. The calamari appetizer had a very nice, light and crispy breading and excellent quality fresh calamari. Served with a delicious marinara sauce. The bread they serve on the table is amazing- light and fluffy with a good chewy crust. The Chicken Parmesan was also terrific. The chicken was tender with a nice light and crispy breading. Served with your choice of pasta. Need a reservation. We sat in the back room. The bar was totally full. They have a nice variety of specials as well.

We made a reservation for 7pm on Friday night, so we sat in the back area. 15 minutes went by before a waitress, or anyone showed up at our table. And when she did show up, she tossed a bottle of water on the table and walked away. She did not pour us the water. It was obvious that they needed more wait staff for the back room. She took our drink order at the same time as our food order. She was not friendly at all and was obviously overworked. My husband ordered soup and a burger. We were waiting for the soup for a long time then all of a sudden, a young woman came over with our entrées. I told her that my husband had ordered a soup and she didn’t really have any comment on that. In the meantime, my husband was served a bottle of beer. He was asked if he wanted a glass and he said yes, and the glass never came! No one asked if We wanted additional drinks. We had to flag someone down for that. The food was just good, not amazing. It was extremely loud in the back room Which did not make for nice ambience. We ordered dessert one for there and then one to go. The waitress brought out the dessert to go immediately even though it had Ice cream with it! So by the time we got home, that ice cream was very melted. All in all not a great experience. My advice to owners is to hire additional wait staff And give the current weight staff some training in customer experience and customer service. And somehow put in some kind of noise reduction panels.
