Welcome to Beijing Tasty House, a Chinese restaurant located at 1380 Fullerton Rd #105 in Rowland Heights, California. As a distinguished member of the Chinese Restaurant category, Beijing Tasty House aims to bring the authentic flavors of Beijing-style Chinese cuisine to the local community. You can contact us at (626) 573-8518 or via mobile at +1 626-573-8518. Situated on Fullerton Road in Rowland Heights, Beijing Tasty House offers a dining experience that showcases the culinary traditions of China's capital, while also surprising patrons with its adeptness at preparing spicy dishes.
Based on the available customer reviews, Beijing Tasty House offers a generally positive experience with its food, particularly highlighting its authenticity and unexpected proficiency in spicy cuisine. One first-time visitor noted that while it is a Beijing-style restaurant, their spicy dishes are "pretty good," specifically recommending the chicken with peppers and the steam noodle with green beans as two of the standout items. This suggests that while the restaurant adheres to the foundational flavors of Beijing cuisine, it also ventures into spicier territories with commendable results, offering a broader appeal to diners with different spice preferences.
Another reviewer corroborated the authenticity and high quality of the food, specifically praising the whole fish they ordered, which was described as "cooked to perfection" and infused with "many different spices and ingredients." This level of detail suggests a commitment to complex flavor profiles and careful preparation of their dishes. This customer also highly recommended the strawberry drinks (🍓) as "refreshing" and effective in tempering the heat of the chilies, indicating that some of their dishes do indeed possess a noticeable but "tolerable spice heat." This positive feedback reinforces the notion that Beijing Tasty House delivers on authentic flavors while also catering to those who enjoy a bit of spice.
However, the service at Beijing Tasty House has received mixed feedback. One reviewer recounted an issue with a waiter who did not clearly communicate the payment policies regarding cash versus card and subsequently charged them for tea, leading to a point of principle rather than cost. While the manager ultimately did not charge for the tea, the reviewer felt this was due to their rush to leave and the restaurant's busyness, rather than an acknowledgment of the employee's error. This incident suggests a potential lack of clarity in service protocols and inconsistent staff training.
Another reviewer also noted a minor service issue, pointing out that the table service could be improved by proactively offering water. They described this as a "very small issue" but relevant to good customer service. Despite this minor critique, this reviewer stated that they would "definitely go back" to eat at Beijing Tasty House, indicating that the quality of the food outweighed this minor service lapse.
Beijing cuisine, the hallmark of Beijing Tasty House, is characterized by its emphasis on subtle and refined flavors, often featuring dishes made with wheat flour, such as noodles, dumplings, and pancakes. Peking duck is perhaps the most famous dish, known for its crispy skin and flavorful meat. Other common dishes include jiaozi (dumplings), zhajiangmian (noodles with savory minced pork sauce), and various stir-fried and braised dishes that highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients. The positive reviews mentioning a perfectly cooked whole fish with many spices and the recommendation of spicy dishes like chicken with peppers and steam noodles with green beans suggest that Beijing Tasty House offers a diverse menu that extends beyond the typical expectations of Beijing cuisine.
The reviews provide limited information about the environment of Beijing Tasty House. One reviewer mentioned the incident with the waiter and the manager, implying a dine-in setting with tables and staff interaction. However, there are no descriptions of the restaurant's décor, ambiance, or size. It is reasonable to assume a casual to mid-range dining environment suitable for enjoying authentic Chinese cuisine.
Regarding services, Beijing Tasty House clearly offers dine-in service. One reviewer ordered takeout, indicating that this option is also available. The mention of a waiter and a manager suggests standard table service for dine-in customers. However, there is no information regarding delivery services or other specific amenities.
The provided reviews do not contain any information about specific promotional offers or specials at Beijing Tasty House. Customers interested in learning about any current promotions, such as lunch specials, daily deals, or seasonal offerings, would need to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone number or inquire during their visit.
In conclusion, Beijing Tasty House in Rowland Heights offers a compelling experience for those seeking authentic Beijing-style Chinese cuisine, with the added surprise of well-executed spicy dishes. Customers have praised the flavorful and well-prepared food, including standout items like the spicy chicken with peppers, steam noodles with green beans, and a perfectly cooked whole fish. The refreshing strawberry drinks are also noted as a highlight. While the majority of the feedback on food is positive, there have been minor issues reported regarding table service and clarity in payment policies. However, these seem to be outweighed by the quality of the food, as evidenced by a reviewer's intention to return despite a service hiccup. For local users in Rowland Heights and surrounding areas looking to explore the nuanced flavors of Beijing cuisine with the bonus of satisfying spicy options, Beijing Tasty House presents a promising culinary destination.

Customer Reviews
First time coming here. The food is decent, the funny thing is they are actually pretty good at spicy dishes though being a Beijing style Chinese restaurant. The chicken with peppers and the steam noodle with green beans are two of the better dishes I would recommend. The service here was not great. The waiter did not specify the rules between paying cash vs card and came back to charge us for tea. It’s not about the cost, more of the principal. Though in the end the manager still didn’t take our money, but I feel that was because we were in a rush to leave and they were too busy to give us change; not it was the right thing to do because an employee didn’t do his job.
Food is authentic and great. We ordered a whole fish. It was cooked to perfection. Many different spices and ingredients went into making this dish. I would order this dish again and again. The strawberry drinks🍓 was refreshing and helped in calming down the chillies heat. Tolerable spice heat. The only Corrective criticism would be Better table service asking if we would want any water. Very small issue but good customer service. We will definitely go back to eat at "Beijing Tasty House"
This place is truly a gem in the plaza! I was around the area and wanted to try something new and found Beijing Tasty House by accident, the best type of accident! We ordered Spicy Pork Intestines Dry Pot, Beef Sandwich, and Spicy Steamed Cold Noodles. All of them are better than I expected, especially the dry pot & beef sandwich. Dishes are very flavorful without being salty. We didn't get thirsty (high MSG) afterward. The beef sandwich is huge and not dry at all. Dishes here are a bit more expensive but dishes are legit and tasty. We are ready to come back next time to try their Bejing Duck!
Really authentic kinda hole in the wall place. A little nicer than true hole in the wall though. Really authentic flavor, a little bit more expensive, but flavor profile is worth it. Place when I was there was only Chinese, so I think that in and of itself is telling. This would be one of my go to spots if I lived more in the area.
Excellent dishes. I got the beef dry pot, it taste and smell amazing! You can adjust the spicy level. The peanut in the bowl is super aromatic. All the ingredients are flavorful. The beef is soft and tender enough. I also had a stir fried noodles with green beans, being a good base for the dry pot if you don’t want rice. Bonus is that the server on that day was friendly, energetic and did a good job on recommend me the good dishes. I would come back for other dishes.
