About Beijing Kitchen
Beijing Kitchen is a Chinese restaurant located at 440 Valley St in Scottsville, VA. They can be contacted at (434) 286-2223 or via their mobile phone at +1 434-286-2223. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Beijing Kitchen likely offers a menu featuring a variety of dishes commonly found in Chinese cuisine, catering to the local community of Scottsville and surrounding areas.
When considering a Chinese restaurant for a meal, potential customers often look for feedback regarding the quality of the food, the efficiency and friendliness of the service, the overall ambiance of the dining environment (if dine-in is offered), and the value for money. Online reviews can provide a window into the experiences of previous patrons, helping new customers form expectations and make informed decisions.
Based on the limited online reviews available for Beijing Kitchen, there appears to be a divergence in customer experiences. One recent reviewer expressed extreme dissatisfaction, describing their experience as "absolutely horrendous." This customer reported spending $70 on a meal that fell significantly short of expectations. Specific issues highlighted included a "salad in a cup" for their husband that consisted mainly of dressing with very few vegetables, and fried wontons that were described as "fried dough with NO meat in them." Even a children's meal, despite having "soggy fries," was deemed the "best part" of the overall disappointing meal. This reviewer stated they would "NEVER order from this place again" and expressed significant upset regarding the quality and portion sizes relative to the price paid, suggesting a preference for a Thai restaurant 25 minutes away that offered better quality and value.
In contrast, another reviewer had a more positive, albeit not overwhelmingly enthusiastic, experience. They described the food as "Great Chinese food" that "Hit the spot." This customer noted that their order was ready in a reasonable 20 minutes. While they acknowledged it wasn't the "best Chinese" they had ever had, they considered it "solid" and "reasonably priced." The only point of annoyance for this reviewer was being charged extra for dipping sauce when ordering crab Rangoon.
These two reviews present a mixed picture of Beijing Kitchen. The strongly negative review raises significant concerns about food quality, particularly regarding the fillings of dishes and the proportion of ingredients in relation to the price. The positive review, while complimentary about the taste and price, is less emphatic and points out a potentially frustrating upcharge for a standard accompaniment.
Considering these contrasting opinions, potential customers might want to approach Beijing Kitchen with a degree of caution. The negative review highlights issues with fundamental aspects of the meal, such as the lack of filling in a menu item and a disproportionate amount of dressing in a salad, which could indicate inconsistencies in food preparation or quality control. The high total cost of $70 for a dissatisfying meal is also a significant point of concern.
On the other hand, the positive review suggests that Beijing Kitchen is capable of producing satisfactory Chinese food at a reasonable price, with efficient service in terms of order preparation time. However, the annoyance expressed about the extra charge for dipping sauce with crab Rangoon is a detail that some customers might find off-putting, as dipping sauces are often expected to be included with such appetizers.
For local users in Scottsville, VA, considering Beijing Kitchen for their Chinese food needs, it would be prudent to weigh these recent experiences. The significant discrepancy between the two reviews suggests a potential for variability in food quality or perhaps different expectations and experiences of individual customers. Those who prioritize value and are willing to overlook minor inconveniences might find Beijing Kitchen to be an acceptable option, as indicated by the positive review. However, the issues raised in the negative review, particularly concerning the quality and composition of the dishes relative to the cost, are serious considerations.
Given the limited number of reviews available, it is difficult to form a definitive overall assessment of Beijing Kitchen. Potential customers might benefit from seeking out more recent reviews from other platforms to get a broader understanding of the current customer sentiment. It's also important to note that individual preferences for Chinese cuisine can vary, and what one person finds "solid," another might find lacking.
As a platform for Chinese Restaurants, we aim to provide an objective overview based on available information. In the case of Beijing Kitchen, the current feedback presents a somewhat polarized view. While one customer found the food great and reasonably priced, another experienced significant disappointment with the quality and value. This suggests that potential diners should perhaps manage their expectations and consider trying a smaller order initially to gauge the current standards of Beijing Kitchen for themselves.
Without further information regarding the environment, services beyond order preparation, or any specific promotional offers, this introduction is primarily based on the available customer reviews. Local users looking for a Chinese restaurant in Scottsville may need to consider these mixed signals and potentially explore other options or seek more up-to-date feedback to make an informed decision about dining at Beijing Kitchen.

Absolutely horrendous. We haven’t ordered here in awhile but usually it’s not great but ok Chinese. We spent $70 on food tonight. My husband literally had three lettuce leafs and 2 carrots in his “salad in a cup”. He had more dressing than salad. My $8 fried wontons were fried dough with NO meat in them see the pics. My kids meal was the best part which was the least expensive and even with the soggy fries was the best part of this meal. I will NEVER order from this place again. I get it times are tough but u are losing patrons. I rather drive 25 mins to chimms Thai pay a little less and get much better quality and portioned food. Do NOT WASTE UR TIME OR MONEY. SO very upset.
Great Chinese food. Hit the spot. Order was ready 20 minutes after ordering. It’s not the best Chinese I’ve had, but it’s solid. Reasonably priced. Only annoying thing was when you order crab Rangoon, they still charge you extra for the dipping sauce 🤨
Friendly staff! The food was really good, great portions and came out fairly quick for a Friday evening. The beef lo mein was delicious!! Highly recommend this place when visiting scottsville.
This restaurant is a nice find on the main street of Scottsville. While not directly on the menu, the staff was happy to accommodate our vegetarian request for General Tso’s tofu and broccoli with garlic sauce. Very well seasoned with plenty of sauce for the rice. The overall menu was pretty typical for a smaller mainly take out style Chinese restaurant. The food was certainly sit down quality and very nice service even through the plexiglass that’s seems to be the unfortunate norm these days. Give them a try, we will definitely be going back again!
Used to be OK but cheap now it’s not very good and too expensive taste of Asia much better then this place and why the hell are the receipts printed on Sears receipt paper from 2006 and what else is he getting a deal on hopefully not the food products
