About Beijing Garden
Beijing Garden is a Chinese restaurant located at 5911 Ridge Ave Suite 1642, Philadelphia, PA 19128. They can be contacted at (215) 508-5583 or +1 215-508-5583.
Based on recent customer reviews, Beijing Garden has received negative feedback regarding its food quality. One reviewer described the food as "trash," specifically mentioning unseasoned rice and rancid-tasting meat. This customer also noted having to request utensils for a pickup order and strongly recommended an alternative restaurant, Shan Chun, despite it being more expensive.
Another customer, while acknowledging that the staff seemed nice, expressed significant disappointment with the food. They found the flavors to be lacking and unexpectedly strange for American Chinese takeout. Specific issues included an unusual, overly soft texture of the shrimp and what appeared to be old vegetables. This reviewer was so dissatisfied that they discarded the leftovers, a first for them with Chinese takeout, and even their children commented on the strange taste of the food.
In summary, the recent online reviews suggest that Beijing Garden may have significant issues with its food quality, with customers reporting problems such as unseasoned rice, rancid meat, strange flavors, and poor texture of ingredients. While one reviewer noted the staff seemed pleasant, the overwhelmingly negative feedback about the food makes it difficult to recommend based on this information.

Food is trash. The rice is not seasoned and the meat tastes rancid. I’m never going back. I had to ask for utensils for a pickup order. If you are willing to drive an extra 2 miles I would recommend Shan Chun. It may be more pricey but the quality of the food is 10 times better.
I debated leaving a review because the people working seemed nice enough...but the food was so disappointing this review is partly to remind myself. I understand the difference between authentic Asian food and greasy American Chinese take out. They are two different categories. For the American Chinese category, this was shockingly bad. Flavorless (and honestly, kind of weird flavors I was not expecting), the shrimp was a very strange texture (way to soft, almost like tofu), the veggies seemed very old, etc. I think this was the first time I've ever thrown away Chinese take out leftovers. My kids even commented how strange the food tasted to them.
I happen to give this place a try since I had called a couple of my normal Chinese takeout locations and they weren't picking up. (Closed during the COVID-19 pandemic?) It was quick to order over the phone, and while not a large order, they said it would only be 10 minutes for pickup. I got there later than I had expected, but they were ready and friendly. They're set up so you don't have to walk in right now, just a table at the door where they set up the interaction. The woman at the counter put on a mask and gloves (disposable, so she's changing out gloves each time) to bring my order and change. Food was your typical Chinese takeout. I'll admit I was starving and went right through my shrimp with broccoli combo platter. My wife had chicken lo mein which seemed a little under seasoned, but better to be able to add soy sauce/seasoning/salt then being too salty to start. Pan fried pork dumplings were good as well as my wonton soup. Though I left my egg roll until last, it wasn't greasy. I also got a beef and broccoli combo to have for lunch today. Basic Chinese takeout, quick service, and fairly reasonable prices.
I used to come to this place because it’s the only spot that has Chinese fried chicken. The wings are significantly smaller, the fried rice has no flavor. I ended up throwing it all out because it was so greasy. China House is slightly better but China Wok is the best in the area. Avoid this place.
Just ordered food got it delivered it was cold chicken was greasy to eat just a horrible horrible experience. Thier food use to be good
