About Beijing 49er

Welcome to Beijing 49er, a new addition to the Chinese Restaurant category, situated at 744 Washington St, 1st Floor (though the restaurant itself is on the second floor), in the heart of San Francisco's historic Chinatown (zip code 94108), USA. While a phone number is not provided in the information, the address offers a clear location for those interested in visiting.

The environment of Beijing 49er is described as "quite" with a unique and enjoyable atmosphere. The walls are adorned with "lots of pictures from the last century," offering patrons a visual journey through the history of Chinatown. This décor suggests a deliberate effort to create a nostalgic and culturally rich dining space, allowing guests to appreciate the historical context of their surroundings while enjoying their meal. This focus on ambiance could make Beijing 49er a particularly appealing destination for those seeking not just a meal, but also a cultural experience. The reviewer found it "very enjoyable to look at and appreciate the history of China Town," highlighting the thoughtful design of the restaurant's interior.

In terms of services, as a traditional Chinese restaurant, Beijing 49er primarily offers a dine-in experience. The fact that it's in its "Grand Opening" phase suggests a new establishment eager to welcome customers and establish itself within the local dining scene. One reviewer mentioned a specific offering called the "San Francisco special," priced at $25.00 per person for a party of three. This indicates a set menu or a signature dish designed to showcase the restaurant's culinary strengths. The positive feedback on this special suggests a focus on providing a quality and satisfying dining experience. While other services like takeout or delivery are not mentioned, it is common for Chinese restaurants to offer these options. Interested customers may need to visit the restaurant or check online for further details as they become available post-grand opening.

A significant feature of Beijing 49er, according to customer feedback, is the value it offers in terms of both quality and quantity. The reviewer who tried the "San Francisco special" stated that "the quality and the quantity is well worth the price." This suggests that diners can expect generous portions of well-prepared and flavorful food, making it a worthwhile investment. This emphasis on value could be a key draw for local users looking for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. The positive experience with the appetizers further reinforces the quality of their culinary offerings.

Another notable feature is the convenience of parking. The reviewer mentioned that "there is a parking garage across the street from the restaurant for easy walking." This is a significant advantage, especially for a restaurant located in the often-bustling area of Chinatown, where parking can sometimes be challenging. The easy access to parking makes Beijing 49er a more convenient option for those driving to the location.

It is important to note a logistical aspect mentioned by multiple reviewers: the restaurant is located on the second floor of the building, and "the stairs are steep." One reviewer explicitly stated that "if you have any difficulty with stairs or require help the restaurant is worth the climb to eat," while another simply noted, "Restaurant on second floor of building and the stairs are steep." This is crucial information for potential customers with mobility issues or those who prefer easily accessible locations. However, the positive sentiment despite this challenge underscores the appeal of the restaurant's food and atmosphere.

For local users in San Francisco, particularly those interested in exploring the culinary scene of Chinatown, Beijing 49er presents itself as a promising new option. The combination of an enjoyable, historically themed ambiance, the praised "San Francisco special," the generous portions and quality of the food, and the convenience of nearby parking make it an attractive choice. While the second-floor location with steep stairs is a factor to consider for accessibility, the positive reviews suggest that the overall experience is well worth the climb. As a newly opened establishment, Beijing 49er offers an opportunity to discover a potentially excellent and authentic Chinese dining experience in a vibrant historical setting. Local residents are encouraged to visit and explore the offerings of this new restaurant in Chinatown.

The place is in a Grand Opening and on the second floor of the building. If you have any difficulty with stairs or require help the restaurant is worth the climb to eat. The atmosphere is quite with lots of pictures from the last century on the walls, very enjoyable to look at and appreciate the history of China Town. I'm definitely recommending eating here. There was three of us eating. We had the San Francisco special which was $25.00 per person. The quality and the quantity is well worth the price. There is a parking garage across the street from the restaurant for easy walking.

Enjoyed all of our appetizers. Restaurant on second floor of building and the stairs are steep. Lunch was good.

TIP ALERT. If you don't mention a tip in the receipt, they'll definitely fill in the blank and charge you! So make sure you mention what you wanna do about it or get surprised when you check your transaction statement. Prices were slightly on the expensive side averaging around 15$ a dish, drinks around 4$. Food was okay but nothing special that'll make you want to come again. My friend who came with me didn't really enjoy the soft crab. Ambience was good. But due to the open balconies, don't be surprised if a mosquito suddenly flies in to irritate you.

*SCAM ALERT* The food was okay the waiting time was very long. They added 3 taxes which I had to pay over 32 dollars. Two of the taxes were San Francisco taxes and the other one was a covid 19 taxes.

A very entertaining meal. The staff were super fast when they ran past our table over and over again. The free snacks were delectable. The cheez-it/Cheeto hybrid kept us alive while we waited over 45 minutes for food. Whenever we asked for water, they would point outside and indeed there was water on the street. We finished our meals and went to the street, where we found water. 😊
