About Bei Jing Restaurant

Bei Jing Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant situated at 3481 Belle Terre Blvd Suit B2 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, offering a variety of Chinese cuisine to both locals and visitors in the Myrtle Beach area. They can be contacted at (843) 236-6869 or via their mobile number +1 843-236-6869 for inquiries about their menu, ordering for takeout, or any other relevant information. As a Chinese restaurant, Bei Jing Restaurant aims to provide a range of dishes that are characteristic of Chinese culinary traditions, catering to those seeking familiar flavors and potentially new tastes.

Based on recent customer reviews available online, the experiences at Bei Jing Restaurant appear to be somewhat mixed, with positive feedback on the general food quality and value contrasting with concerns about specific dishes and pricing policies. One customer reported a generally positive experience with their food, stating, "the food i got was great, it was exactly what i was hoping for it to be." This suggests that many of their dishes meet customer expectations in terms of taste and quality. However, this same reviewer noted a significant disappointment with one particular item, the "crab rangoons," which were described as "stale and flavorless." This indicates a potential inconsistency in the quality across their menu offerings.

The same reviewer also raised a notable concern regarding the restaurant's pricing policy for substitutions in combination plates. They provided a detailed example: a pint of chicken fried rice costs $6.50, and a pint of chicken lo mein costs $6.95 (a $0.45 difference). When attempting to substitute lo mein for rice in a combination plate, they were charged an additional $2. The reviewer found this pricing illogical, pointing out that the substitution cost was significantly higher than the price difference between ordering the two items separately by the pint, and even more expensive than the price difference for a quart. This led to the conclusion that "these restaurants will do anything for extra profits" and resulted in the reviewer stating, "luckily we won’t be returning." This issue with pricing transparency and perceived fairness could be a significant deterrent for some customers.

Adding another layer to the feedback, the same reviewer also mentioned a concern about the restaurant owner's online interactions, stating, "plus the owner has a nasty attitude when they reply to reviews." While not directly related to the food or service experienced during a visit, this observation about the owner's response to feedback could influence potential customers' perception of the restaurant's customer service ethos and willingness to address concerns constructively.

On a more positive note, another customer had a significantly different and highly favorable experience. They described the food as "Great food and must have while in Myrtle Beach area." This positive assessment suggests that Bei Jing Restaurant has the potential to deliver a satisfying culinary experience. This reviewer also found the short drive to the restaurant worthwhile, stating, "The 12 minutes drive was way worth it. Food tasted amazing. Great portion too." This highlights the positive aspects of the food's flavor and the generosity of the portions served.

Furthermore, this positive review emphasized the value offered by Bei Jing Restaurant, particularly when compared to other dining options in the beach area: "Unbelievably value considering other options available on/around the beach area." This suggests that Bei Jing Restaurant might offer more affordable prices or better portion sizes for the price compared to other restaurants in a tourist-heavy location like Myrtle Beach. The reviewer also commended the efficiency and politeness of the staff, noting, "Front desk lady was very polite and food was ready in a jiffy." This indicates positive aspects of the service, particularly regarding the speed of order preparation and the courtesy of at least one staff member.

In summary, Bei Jing Restaurant in Myrtle Beach, SC, presents a somewhat complex picture based on the available customer reviews. On one hand, the general food quality is praised by some, with mentions of great taste and generous portions, and the value is considered excellent compared to other options in the area. The front desk service is also noted as polite and efficient. On the other hand, there are concerns about the consistency of food quality, as highlighted by the stale and flavorless crab rangoons. Additionally, a significant issue was raised regarding the pricing policy for substitutions in combination plates, which was perceived as illogical and profit-driven. Finally, a comment about the owner's attitude in responding to online reviews could be a concern for some potential customers.

For those in the Myrtle Beach area or visitors looking for Chinese cuisine, Bei Jing Restaurant offers the potential for great-tasting food at a good value, with efficient service for takeout. However, prospective customers should be aware of the reported inconsistencies in food quality for certain items and the potentially unfavorable pricing for substitutions. The comment regarding the owner's online interactions might also be a consideration for those who value transparent and positive engagement from restaurant management. It may be advisable to inquire about pricing for any desired substitutions before placing an order to avoid unexpected charges. Overall, while Bei Jing Restaurant has received positive feedback on its food and value, the reported issues suggest that the experience might not be uniformly positive for all customers.

the food i got was great, it was exactly what i was hoping for it to be besides the crab rangoons, those were stale and flavorless. the only complaint i have is that if i were to order a pint of chicken fried rice, its $6.50. if i order a pint of chicken lo mein it’s $6.95, so $0.45 difference right? so i wanted to substitute lomein instead of rice in my combination plate and they charged me $2 extra. how does that make any sense? why is it $1.55 more than if i were to just order rice or lomein by the quart? these restaurants will do anything for extra profits. luckily we won’t be returning. plus the owner has a nasty attitude when they reply to reviews.

I ordered shrimp fried rice and a separate onion fried rice. While they cooked the rice the same way, mine was very mushy, oily, and tasteless! I called the restaurant and the lady was not kind. She yelled and said “You always complain.” This is not true. I complained once before because they didn’t cook the food properly. She went on to say that the other person who ordered onion fried rice didn’t complain. I explained to her that the food I was complaining was about mine and the other person had not picked up her order. This is when she yelled and said she would make it one last time and will never do this again. I told her NOT to remake it because she was very humiliating! I will NOT order from Beijing again! This is not how customers should be treated.

Absolutely stellar food for a reasonable price. Great staff highly recommended! The only thing they are missing is delivery to the bluegreen resort. ;)
