Barnwood Restaurant

Just happened to see the restaurant during a Sunday drive from Middleburg to Catskill and decided to give it a try. Very good place. Good vibe and great food. There were 3 of us and we had the fried chicken meal, cod sandwich meal and the BBQ on a hard roll meal. Oh… the sweet corn nugget which I had never heard of were very tasty! All in all the food was outstanding. Highly recommend Barnwood.

Awesome local spot if you are ever passing through the area. The fried chicken is amazing (arguably better than Publix chicken (iykyk). The bartenders and servers are very welcoming - Larissa is the best! 10/10 for sure check it out!

We were passing thru on our way North, and saw the reviews for the fried chicken. Momma had a craving, so in we went. We were not disappointed… the chicken is crispy, and not greasy in the least. The restaurant is clean, pleasant country atmosphere, with good music playing. I grabbed the blackened chicken sandwich, which comes with pepper jack cheese, fried jalapeños, lettuce and tomato with a spicy mayo. Delicious. Definitely a stop to take right off the NY Thruway. Nice beer list as well, but didn’t partake on this trip. Maybe next time. Our server, Tori, was very pleasant and accommodating. She made us feel welcomed. UPDATE: On our return journey, we ducked the torrent of rain on the Thruway, and, came back. This time it was the Black Bean Burger with pepper jack and shrooms, and the San Francisco salad. And a Bucket of Onion Rings. Our server today was Francesca, and as we anticipated, our service and meals were outstanding. A nice halfway point on our journey home. Must recommend.

Great place. Exceptional service, food is delicious! Homemade fried mozzarella is amazing, pizza rocks and homemade bread pudding is also amazing! Been there 4 or 5 times and everything we've had has been delicious. Smoked wings and homemade onion rings rock too!

Service was a 17 out of 10. Way above and beyond. Very friendly and on top of order and drinks. Brought what I needed before I had to ask. Food was plentiful, very tasty with perfect temperature. Atmosphere is a good rustic look and feel but yet modern.
