About Bao Shi Yi
Bao Shi Yi is a Chinese Restaurant located at 9715 Bellaire Blvd ste b in Houston, Texas. They can be contacted at (832) 925-7913 or +1 832-925-7913.
Customer reviews indicate that Bao Shi Yi offers food that is generally considered good and fresh. Notably recommended items include the Fried Dumplings and Soy Milk. The restaurant's Chinese Hot Sauce is also mentioned as being impressive. One customer expressed their intention to return soon.
However, another review highlighted concerns regarding customer service, giving a 3-star rating out of 5 primarily due to this aspect. The reviewer mentioned an instance where only one person was managing both waiter and cashier duties, leading to difficulties in communication due to a language barrier (the staff member reportedly did not speak English). This resulted in a negative interaction when an ordered item was sold out. The buns were described as not particularly special.
Despite the issues with customer service reported by one reviewer, the same review noted that other food items on the menu were good, specifically mentioning the beef noodle, century egg congee, and wonton soup as being better than the buns.
For local Houston users interested in trying Bao Shi Yi, it appears they offer some well-regarded dishes such as fried dumplings, soy milk, and a notable hot sauce, along with other dishes like beef noodle, century egg congee, and wonton soup. However, potential customers should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding the service experience.

Food was pretty good and fresh! I will say I recommend order Fried Dumplings and Soy milk! Their Chinese Hot Sauce is also impressive! I will come back here soon to visit them again!
I give it 3 stars out of 5 because of bad customer services, the buns are not very special, but other foods on the menu are good. During my experience here, there was only one person working as waiter and cashier at same time. She didn’t speak English, making it very difficult to order food. After we ordered the food, she came back to my table and tried to explain to us that one of my food is sold out but we didn’t understand at that moment, so she got the money and slammed it on my table and walked away. Buns taste normal, but other foods taste better. Such as beef noodle, century egg congee, and wonton soup.
I'm always looking for a good bao place and the ones I had here were delicious! I ordered the Dried Mushroom Bean Curd with Veggie Buns as well as the Chinese Traditional Pancake. The buns were nice and fluffy with a good amount filling. They had a strong mushroom and veggie taste, perfect! I was comparing the pancake to Tao Rice Roll and this one here is bigger with more filling. I could eat either one as it did not disappoint. Since I ordered pick-up, the pancake lost some of the crispiness from the inside but all the flavor was there, the onion, the egg, all so yummy. I cannot wait to eat this again but I will say its definitely not healthy food!!
They open early in the morning. Love that! Best soup dumplings in town so far, the soup flavor was so good and thick make me wanted to eat more. Their juicy cha siu buns is a must try also, exactly what it called, really juicy and flavorful. With their chili old make all the food better. Restaurant is clean, the employee is friendly, she explained the menu for me helpful. They also sell frozen dumplings in a pack so you can make at home. I will come back to try more on the menu and a drink.
I gave an 1 star review solely based on Serivce. This is my first time trying out this place. On 03/13/2024 at around 10am. As I walked in to check out their menu, this male server asked it’s for here or togo. Told him let me see the menu first. He kept on insisting to know if for here or togo. Sternly told me if I want to dine in can look at the menu at the table don’t want us to stand in front of the check out/order station. At the same time, he was rude and face was ‘shaking’. Finally when I sat down he said you could had asked me what you were looking for. I got so irritated and told me ‘you never asked do you need some help!’. Apparently throughout entire breakfast, he was providing most basic service no smile to anyone. Salty tofu pudding was super salty. The Chinese traditional pancake should only cut in half. 4 quarters, were tough to pick up. They all fell apart. I don’t think would come back to this place again.
