About Bao Dumplings & Bao Tea 寶餃寶茶

Located at 21-06 Maple Ave in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, Bao Dumplings & Bao Tea 寶餃寶茶 is a Chinese restaurant that, as its name suggests, specializes in dumplings and bao, while also offering a selection of teas and other Chinese dishes. Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, Bao Dumplings & Bao Tea aims to provide a diverse culinary experience centered around these popular Chinese staples. The restaurant can be contacted at phone number (201) 383-9688 or mobile phone +1 201-383-9688 for inquiries or to place orders.

Based on the available customer reviews, Bao Dumplings & Bao Tea offers a few notable aspects. One reviewer specifically tried the dumpling combo with different fillings and reported that they were "really good." This highlights the dumplings as a potentially strong point of the menu, especially the variety offered in the combo. The same reviewer also sampled the Chicken with Broccoli and found it to be "pretty good," although they mentioned a personal preference for garlic sauce, indicating a willingness to customize dishes and a potential option for future visits. This suggests that Bao Dumplings & Bao Tea offers more than just dumplings and bao, with standard Chinese-American fare also available.

The environment of the restaurant seems to be a positive aspect, as the reviewer noted "plenty of parking" and liked the "decor inside." Ample parking is a significant convenience for diners, and an appealing interior decor can enhance the overall dining experience, making it a comfortable and pleasant place to enjoy a meal. This suggests that Bao Dumplings & Bao Tea has put effort into creating a welcoming atmosphere for its customers.

The same reviewer concluded that Bao Dumplings & Bao Tea is "definitely worth stopping by for a nice lunch or some dinner to bring home," indicating satisfaction with both the dine-in and takeout options. This suggests that the restaurant caters to different dining preferences, whether customers want a meal on-site or the convenience of enjoying it at home.

Another reviewer provided more detailed feedback on specific items. They noted that the "bao dumplings have soups in them, which were great." This is a significant feature, as soup dumplings (often Xiaolongbao) are a specialty known for their flavorful broth encased within the dumpling wrapper. The reviewer did, however, feel that the wrapper of the soup dumplings was "a bit too thick" for their preference. They also found the "beef buns" to have "too much wrap," suggesting a potential imbalance between the filling and the dough in some of the bao offerings.

In terms of other menu items, this reviewer mentioned that the "candied fruits were not Chinese traditional," which might be relevant for those seeking authentic Chinese desserts. They also tried the "lavender bubble tea" and found it to be "average," indicating that while the restaurant offers bubble tea, it might not be a standout item.

Regarding the service, this reviewer noted that the "waitresses mixed up the orders and tables." This suggests a potential area for improvement in the service process, as accuracy in order taking and delivery is crucial for a positive dining experience. However, despite this issue, the reviewer concluded that the restaurant was "all in all, not a bad place for dumplings as there are not many choices in NJ." This highlights the potential strength of their dumpling offerings, especially given the perceived limited availability of good dumpling places in the area.

Based on these reviews, Bao Dumplings & Bao Tea in Fair Lawn, NJ, appears to be a Chinese restaurant with a focus on dumplings and bao. A key feature seems to be their soup dumplings, which are appreciated for the soup inside, although some customers might find the wrappers a bit thick. The restaurant also offers other dishes like Chicken with Broccoli, which has received positive feedback, and beef buns, which some find to have too much wrapping. They also serve bubble tea, with the lavender flavor being rated as average.

The environment of the restaurant is noted to have good decor and ample parking, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. The service, while generally acceptable, has had instances of order mix-ups, suggesting a need for potential improvement in this area. However, the overall sentiment is that Bao Dumplings & Bao Tea is a worthwhile option, particularly for those in New Jersey looking for good dumplings.

There is no specific promotional information available in these reviews, such as discounts, specials, or loyalty programs. Local users interested in such offers would need to contact the restaurant directly or check any online platforms where they might advertise promotions.

In conclusion, Bao Dumplings & Bao Tea 寶餃寶茶 in Fair Lawn, NJ, offers a Chinese dining experience with a focus on dumplings and bao. Customers have praised the dumpling combo and the soup dumplings for their fillings, while some have noted minor issues with the thickness of the wrappers and the ratio of filling to dough in the beef buns. The restaurant also serves other Chinese dishes and bubble tea. The decor and parking are appreciated, and while service has had some issues, the overall consensus is that it's a decent place, especially for dumplings in the New Jersey area. Local users looking for a restaurant specializing in these items might find Bao Dumplings & Bao Tea worth a visit.

I tried their dumpling combo with different fillings - they were really good! I also decided to try out their Chicken with Broccoli and it was pretty good. Maybe it's just me, but I probably would've enjoyed it more with Garlic sauce which I plan on trying for the next visit. Plenty of parking and I liked the decor inside. Definitely worth stopping by for a nice lunch or some dinner to bring home.

The bao dumplings have soups in them, which were great, but the wrap to my opinion was a bit too thick. Beef buns also had too much wrap. Candied fruits were not Chinese traditional. The lavender bubble tea was average. The waitresses mixed up the orders and tables. But all in all, not a bad place for dumplings as there are not many choices in NJ.

My friend and I came kind of late and ordered a bunch of food but the cashier, Kristen, was super sweet. We got the chicken wings, red bean buns, beef bao, wontons, and golden buns. Everything was sooo delicious although the golden buns were just a little too greasy for my taste. the food was well priced and i can definitely say i’ll be back. Fair Lawn really needed a bao place so i’m so glad this place opened up.

Absolutely loved this spot! I had the taro bubble tea and finished it in five minutes—it was that good. Easily one of the best bubble teas I’ve had in the area. The dumplings were also amazing, and the menu is packed with so many other delicious options. Definitely worth checking out!

I walked in mid day at a time that was not busy at all. I was immediately greeted with an attentive and accommodating kind team. They answered all of my questions and didn’t rush me at all. They are so sweet! This time round on a sunny day I just went with a drink. I got the iced oolong cherry blossom boba with lychee. It is light floral, not sweet, and refreshing and the jelly is sweet and fruity which adds a complements the tea and adds a lovely sweetness and flavor.
