About Bao'd Up Dumpling Shop - Sunset Valley

Bao'd Up Dumpling Shop - Sunset Valley, categorized as a Chinese Restaurant, brings a taste of authentic Asian comfort food to the Sunset Valley area of Austin. Located at 5207 Brodie Ln Ste 115, Sunset Valley, TX 78745, USA, they can be contacted at (737) 203-8661 or +1 737-203-8661 for orders and inquiries. While this specific location doesn't have direct reviews available online, insights can be gathered from experiences at another branch, Bao’d Up’s Mueller location, and one takeout experience from the Sunset Valley store.

One customer who ordered takeout from the Sunset Valley location reported that while the food tasted good, the overall experience was less than ideal. Issues included mochi that seemed stale, a sauce container for dumplings that was only partially filled, and a Crispy Chicken order (without coleslaw) that arrived with no toppings or sauce, just chicken in a bun. This suggests that while the flavors might be appealing, attention to detail in takeout orders could be improved at this location.

A review from the Mueller branch provides more insight into the typical offerings and atmosphere of Bao'd Up. This customer highlighted the enjoyable experience, utilizing a $10 credit through the Offline membership. They praised the Spicy Dan Dan Noodles with Hot Pot Brisket for its perfect seasoning and tender brisket, and the Tonkotsu Ramen with Pork Belly as rich and flavorful. The Taco Bun, ordered as a side, was also well-received.

The Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings at the Mueller location were described as just okay, lacking the desired standout texture and juiciness. On the other hand, the Taro Latte with Boba and Coco Jelly was noted as a delightful and well-paired drink with a mix of creamy, sweet, and chewy textures.

The reviewer of the Mueller branch also commended the friendly staff and cozy atmosphere, making it a worthwhile visit despite the slightly disappointing dumplings. This suggests that Bao'd Up generally aims to provide a pleasant environment and good service. While direct feedback for the Sunset Valley location's dine-in experience is unavailable, the positive comments about the Mueller branch may indicate a similar approach to customer service and ambiance.

In conclusion, Bao'd Up Dumpling Shop - Sunset Valley offers a menu featuring dumplings, bao buns, and noodle dishes, promising flavorful Asian comfort food. While one takeout experience suggests potential inconsistencies in order preparation, the positive review from another branch indicates the potential for a satisfying meal with friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. Local users looking for a variety of Asian dishes for takeout or delivery in the Sunset Valley area might find Bao'd Up worth trying.

Ordered online and the mochi had clearly been sitting out for a while. The sauce container with the dumplings wasn't even halfway full, and when I ordered the crispy chicken with no coleslaw, they put no toppings at all, no sauce, just chicken and bun. The food tasted really good but it was not a good experience to take out food.

Jobie with Offline - We recently visited Bao’d Up’s Mueller branch, taking advantage of our $10 credit through the Offline membership, and it was an enjoyable experience overall! I ordered the Spicy Dan Dan Noodles with Hot Pot Brisket and a Taco Bun on the side. The noodles were perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of heat, and the tender brisket was a fantastic addition. My husband went for the Tonkotsu Ramen with Pork Belly, paired with his own Taco Bun. The ramen was rich, comforting, and full of flavor—definitely a standout dish. We also tried the Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings, which were just okay but not the best we’ve had. While they were flavorful, they lacked the standout texture and juiciness we were hoping for. For drinks, We had the Taro Latte with Boba and Coco Jelly, which was a delightful mix of creamy, sweet, and chewy textures. It paired wonderfully with the meal and was the perfect way to round things off. The food, the friendly staff, and the cozy atmosphere made this visit worth it. While the dumplings could be improved, Bao’d Up Mueller is still a great spot for flavorful Asian comfort food!

This was my first time ever having Baos before. I loved them! Everything was so packed with flavor. The buns were fluffy and came out piping hot. I absolutely loved it!

I was incredibly happy with the experience here! The staff ladies were all very kind, and the food was fast and absolutely delicious (Not to mention cheap)! I got to try most of the bao items on the menu, and they were all fantastic!! My favorites were the brisket and veggie, and the pork and teriyaki were also very good (and don’t skip on the egg creme desert bao!). I had a passion fruit milk tea with it, which complimented the savory food well. Also, their spicy mayo was killer—much better than other ones I’ve had! Thank you so much for the excellent meal! I will definitely be coming here again!

Food was ok but very low quality. Dan dan noodles were not spicy. I wouldn't avoid meeting up with friends here, but I would never suggest it. You place your order on a screen and bus your own table. Yet the screen prompt for a tip made me think I would actually get some level of service. There was none.
