About Bambu

Bambu is a restaurant located at 2999 Street Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020, USA, categorized as a Chinese Restaurant that appears to offer a fusion of Asian cuisines, including Thai and Japanese influences. They can be contacted at (888) 588-7275 or their mobile number +1 888-588-7275.

Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at Bambu seem to vary. One customer who visited at 5 PM reported a lack of a bartender upon arrival, limiting drink options to beer and wine. They found their sushi and spring roll appetizers to be acceptable but unremarkable in presentation. However, they expressed significant dissatisfaction with their main courses, the house fried rice and Japanese ramen, describing them as tasting microwaved. The fried rice was noted for lacking seasoning, vegetables, and being cold in parts, while the ramen featured tough, fatty pork, hard boiled eggs, oily and flavorless broth, and clumped noodles. This customer described their overall experience as terrible, citing the high price for the quality of food and drinks, and stated they would not return.

In contrast, another reviewer who visited during the 12-3 PM period highlighted a positive experience at the bar, praising the service of a staff member named Ivan. This customer enjoyed the 3-course prix fixe menu, which included hot & sour soup, watercress shrimp dumplings, and Singapore noodles. They also complimented the drinks and the attentive service, noting Ivan's engaging conversation and skillful preparation of signature cocktails and an old fashioned. While acknowledging a preference for a stronger Thai flavor profile, this reviewer found the food flavorful and adapted for an American palate, recommending Bambu, particularly during the prix fixe hours.

Given these contrasting reviews, local users might find it beneficial to consider the time of their visit and their preferences for specific cuisines when deciding to dine at Bambu. The restaurant appears to offer a prix fixe menu during lunch hours and has a bar service. For more details on their complete menu and any current promotions, contacting the restaurant directly is recommended.

when we arrived at 5pm, there was no bartender there, so we could only order beer or wine, no mixed drinks. we ordered sushi and spring rolls as an appetizer which were fine, nothing special but tasted fresh even though the presentation was nothing special. we ordered their house fried rice and the japanese ramen for dinner, both looked and tasted like they were microwaved. the fried rice lacked any sort of seasoning, had no vegetables, and was still cold to the touch in areas. the ramen was terrible. it came with three very tough, fatty slices of grey-colored pork, old hard boiled eggs, the broth was oily and flavorless, the noodles were glued together in a wad like they were from days ago. this place looked nice, our waitress was pleasant, but overall this was a terrible experience. we hardly ate a bite of our dinners and the price was over $100. this price included a glass of chardonnay (which was one of the worst wines i’ve ever had, i did not drink it), and two beers (the second one was ordered because i was not drinking that nasty wine!) will not ever go back here.

I sat at the bar of this Thai inspired restaurant; I highly enjoyed my visit under the care of Ivan. 12-3pn they host a 3 course prix fix menu, of which I chose the hot& sour soup, the watercress shrimp dumplings, and the Singapore noodles. My drinks were top notch and the service alike. Ivan made the perfect amount of small talk while serving the best examples of the drinks to offer, all while taking special care of each individual seated at his bar. The food was great, although I prefer the Thai palate, the food was flavorful and tamed to accommodate an American palate. I'd highly recommend this gem to anyone coming to park, especially during this 12-3 period. Ivan prepared perfect renditions of the signature Golden Lotus as well as a superb old fashioned.

5 stars ⭐️ to me = value, quality, environment, & service. Bambu nails it. This new spot is chic with a nice bar seating. The lunch special is nothing to ignore. You are getting $35 worth of good food for $21. The hot and sour soup is dead on. The beef chow fun tastes better than most places in NYC. I highly recommend the Peking duck here too. Alcohol is a bit pricey but I’m here to eat mostly. They also have the very hard to find item (YOUNG coconut juice). 🥇🥇 The beef stew noodles could be improved upon, beef tendon is average. Great 👍 spot for lunch date without breaking the bank 💪💪

Basically Chinese takeout with a fancy interior. Chow fun portion was generous, but super oily. Fried rice is also decent. I would stick to the Chinese menu here, though. Tried the sushi on a whim, and it was not good at all (and way overpriced for the quality).
