About Bamboo Garden Wok 'N' Grill
Bamboo Garden Wok 'N' Grill is a Chinese restaurant located at 7708 Lohman Ford Rd Suite 108B in Lago Vista, TX 78645, USA. You can reach them at their phone number: (512) 267-7600 or their mobile number: +1 512-267-7600. As a local Chinese restaurant offering a "Wok 'N' Grill" concept, Bamboo Garden aims to provide a variety of Asian dishes cooked in a wok and potentially grilled items. Customer reviews present a mixed perspective on the dining experience at this establishment.
One customer who visited the new Bamboo Garden in Lago Vista described the atmosphere as nice and noted that there were a lot of people dining, suggesting a potentially popular spot within the community. This indicates that Bamboo Garden Wok 'N' Grill may offer a pleasant environment for enjoying a meal. The same reviewer also highlighted the fabulous service they received, implying that the staff is attentive and contributes positively to the dining experience.
In terms of services, Bamboo Garden Wok 'N' Grill appears to offer dine-in options, as indicated by the reviewer who mentioned dining at the new location and observing many other diners. It is also likely that they provide takeout services, as is common for many Chinese restaurants. The "Wok 'N' Grill" in their name suggests that they utilize wok cooking techniques, which are central to many Chinese dishes, and may also offer grilled items, providing a broader range of cooking styles and flavors.
A notable feature mentioned by a positive reviewer is the generous portion sizes of the dishes. They specifically mentioned the chicken in garlic sauce and the combo lo mein with added extra vegetables as having great portion sizes. This suggests that customers may find the meals to be substantial and offer good value. Another significant feature highlighted was the ability to bring in a bottle of wine, which can enhance the dining experience for those who enjoy pairing their meals with wine. This policy can be a unique draw for customers.
However, it is important to consider the contrasting experience of another customer. This reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the taste and quality of the food they ordered. They found the Kung Pao chicken to be completely tasteless, noting a large amount of celery and water chestnuts that seemed to water down the sauce. They also paid extra for fried rice, which they described as not good, appearing and tasting like it was quickly tossed in a pan with only rice. Ultimately, this customer had to discard their entire meal. Similarly, the Mongolian chicken ordered by their husband was also described as tasteless with a lot of onions and a watered-down sauce, accompanied by the same unsatisfactory fried rice.
The conflicting reviews indicate a potential inconsistency in the food quality or perhaps a difference in expectations or preferences. While one customer had a highly positive experience with flavorful dishes and good service, another found multiple dishes to be bland and poorly prepared.
Based on the name "Wok 'N' Grill," the menu at Bamboo Garden might typically include a variety of Chinese dishes prepared in a wok, such as stir-fries, as well as potentially grilled meats, seafood, or vegetables. Common types of dishes found in such establishments might include:
- Wok-cooked dishes: Various meat (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp), vegetable, and combination stir-fries with different sauces (e.g., garlic sauce, black bean sauce, oyster sauce).
- Noodle dishes: Lo mein, chow mein, and other noodle preparations with different proteins and vegetables.
- Rice dishes: Fried rice with various additions like eggs, vegetables, and meats.
- Grilled items: Potentially grilled skewers, meats, or seafood, possibly with Asian-inspired marinades or sauces.
- Soup selections: Common Chinese soups like wonton soup, egg drop soup, or hot and sour soup.
- Appetizers: Standard Chinese appetizers such as egg rolls, spring rolls, dumplings, and crab rangoon.
Given the feedback, it is difficult to ascertain the overall quality and consistency of these potential menu items at Bamboo Garden Wok 'N' Grill. The positive reviewer specifically enjoyed the chicken in garlic sauce and the combo lo mein, suggesting that these might be reliable choices. However, the negative reviewer's experience with the Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian chicken, and fried rice raises concerns about these particular dishes.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. It is common for restaurants to offer various promotions to attract customers, such as lunch specials, early bird discounts, family meal deals, or special offers on certain days. For local users in Lago Vista, TX, Bamboo Garden Wok 'N' Grill presents a Chinese dining option with the added possibility of grilled items. The restaurant seems to have a nice atmosphere and offers good service, as reported by one customer. The generous portion sizes and the BYOB (bring your own bottle) policy for wine are also attractive features. However, the significant negative feedback regarding the lack of taste and poor quality of some dishes, particularly the Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian chicken, and fried rice, should be taken into consideration. Potential customers might want to inquire about the preparation of specific dishes or consider trying items that have received positive feedback in reviews, such as the chicken in garlic sauce and combo lo mein.
In conclusion, Bamboo Garden Wok 'N' Grill in Lago Vista, TX, is a Chinese restaurant that offers wok-cooked and potentially grilled dishes. While one customer reported a very positive experience with delicious food, generous portions, great service, and a nice atmosphere, another customer found several dishes to be tasteless and poorly prepared. For local users, it may be prudent to approach this restaurant with cautious optimism, perhaps trying dishes that have been positively reviewed and inquiring about the preparation of others. King Pao chicken - no taste at all, lots of big chunks of celery and water chestnuts, waters down sauce, paid extra for fried rice and it was not good; looked and tasted like they tossed it in frying pan for a sec. Fried rice was rice only. Unfortunately, I had to throw it all away. Husband ordered Mongolian chicken - no taste as well, lots of onions, watered down sauce, same fried rice - no taste.
Went to the new Bamboo Garden in Lago Vista the other night. We ordered chicken in garlic sauce and combo lo mein with added extra vegetables. They were great portion sizes and oh soo delicious!!! The chicken in garlic sauce was just the right amount of spice(heat) and bursting with flavor. Service was fabulous and atmosphere was also nice. There were a lot of people dining. I will definitely be making this a regular stop. Being able to bring in a bottle of wine was also wonderful. Can’t say enough good things about our experience!!
I normally always get sweet & sour chicken or their orange chicken. Both are REALLY good. The food is very flavorful & fresh & served in good size portions. Excellent & friendly customer service. I'd highly recommend eating at the Bamboo Garden!
Update 07/01/2024: Seems like new owners again, the food changed again but it's pretty darn good. The wonton soup was amazing, with sweet peas, carrots, green onions, shrimp, chicken, and wontons. The food is still pretty expensive, just over $50 fro two people, without any drinks. --- We used to come here when it was Wok N Grill and we were excited to give the new owners a try. They spruced up the inside with a new layout and some decorations and nice music. The service was good. The food quality could be improved. There was too much sauce on the sesame chicken and general tso's chicken... and the sauce was very thick (too much corn starch most likely). The flavor was good, with the right amount of heat on the general tso's chicken. The pork egg rolls were also good, but they don't seem home made. And they now serve sushi which is a nice option for Lago Vista. And while I wasn't expecting a $65+ bill for two people, we are definitely full and have leftovers for tomorrow. We will give this place another try in a couple months and hopefully I can raise the rating.
Food was delicious! They are so generous with there servings! Unlike other restaurants the staff makes time an effort to serve you! They sent us home with extra food and a big welcome to Lago Vista! I plan on eating here often, I look forward to being in such a friendly, peaceful, clean and organized restaurant
