About Bamboo Garden Restaurant

Bamboo Garden Restaurant is a Chinese eatery situated at 13491 Unit 6, US-90 in Boutte, Louisiana. Based on the available customer reviews, the dining experience at Bamboo Garden appears to be somewhat inconsistent, with patrons reporting both positive and negative aspects regarding the food, service, and atmosphere.

One reviewer who dined in for dinner enjoyed the "Great atmosphere" of the restaurant. They ordered the Buddha plate, describing it as "pretty good" but noting that it was enhanced with duck sauce. This suggests that the Buddha plate might be a popular vegetarian option, though perhaps benefiting from additional flavorings to suit individual tastes. This customer also highly recommended the wontons, stating they were "REALLY good," indicating this appetizer could be a standout item on the menu. However, their experience with the spring rolls was less favorable, describing them as "ok" and noting that they were mainly filled with cabbage, lacking other vegetables and flavor, which led to a "very bland" opinion.

The same reviewer also appreciated the jasmine tea, finding its warmth "perfect for the cold atmosphere." This comment suggests that while the overall ambiance was considered great, the temperature inside the restaurant might have been on the cooler side. The reviewer also specifically mentioned a waitress named Julie as being "really cool," highlighting a positive interaction with the service staff. The only noted drawback regarding the environment was the absence of booths, indicating a preference for this type of seating.

In contrast, another customer recounted a significantly negative experience. This patron ordered an appetizer that the staff attempted to serve after the main dish. The reviewer expressed frustration with a young lady who did not seem to understand the concept of an appetizer being served before the main course and repeatedly suggested boxing it up to take away. This interaction led to the customer feeling disrespected, noting "dirty looks from staff" after refusing the appetizer at that point and stating they would not pay for it being served as a dessert.

The same negative reviewer also expressed disappointment with their main dish, the "shrimp" fried rice. They reported finding "literally THREE small shrimps" in the rice, which they felt was a severely inadequate amount given the expectation of a shrimp fried rice dish. Additionally, they found the boneless chicken to be "over battered and kinda salty," further contributing to their negative impression of the food quality. This customer stated they were in town for a two-week training, revisiting local spots, but unequivocally declared they "Won’t return here for any reason" based on their experience.

Considering these two reviews, the environment at Bamboo Garden Restaurant is described as having a "Great atmosphere" by one customer, although it might be perceived as cold in temperature, and booth seating is not available. The service experience appears to be inconsistent, with one waitress, Julie, being praised as "really cool," while another staff member was perceived as unprofessional and disrespectful regarding the timing of an appetizer and the resolution of the issue. The latter experience also suggests a potential lack of understanding of basic dining etiquette and customer service principles.

Regarding the food, the wontons and jasmine tea received positive feedback. The Buddha plate was considered "pretty good" but better with duck sauce. However, the spring rolls were deemed bland and lacking in variety, and the shrimp fried rice was criticized for containing a minimal amount of shrimp. The boneless chicken was also reported as being over battered and salty. This mixed feedback indicates that the quality and preparation of dishes may vary.

There is no information available in these reviews regarding any unique features of Bamboo Garden Restaurant, such as regional specialties, signature dishes, or a particular cooking style that sets it apart. Similarly, no promotional information, such as discounts, special offers, or lunch menus, is mentioned.

For local users in Boutte, LA, considering Bamboo Garden Restaurant, it is essential to weigh these contrasting experiences. The positive review suggests the potential for a pleasant dining atmosphere and enjoyment of certain dishes like the wontons. However, the negative review raises serious concerns about customer service and the quality and quantity of ingredients in some of the main courses. The discrepancy in the number of shrimp in the fried rice is particularly alarming.

Given the mixed feedback, local users might want to exercise caution when deciding to dine at Bamboo Garden. If you choose to visit, it might be prudent to inquire about the ingredients and preparation of specific dishes before ordering, especially those that have received negative reviews. For appetizers, the wontons seem to be a safe bet based on the positive feedback. If ordering an appetizer, clearly communicate your expectation for it to be served before the main course to avoid the issue encountered by the dissatisfied customer.

To gain a more comprehensive understanding of Bamboo Garden Restaurant, local users might consider looking for additional reviews from other online platforms. The limited information available makes it difficult to form a definitive opinion on the overall quality and reliability of this establishment. Contacting the restaurant directly at (985) 785-9929 or +1 985-785-9929 could also provide an opportunity to ask about their menu, service policies, and any current promotions.

In conclusion, Bamboo Garden Restaurant in Boutte, LA, presents a mixed bag of customer experiences. While some aspects like the atmosphere and certain dishes (wontons) have been praised, significant concerns have been raised regarding service professionalism and the quality and content of other menu items (shrimp fried rice, spring rolls, boneless chicken). Local users should consider these points carefully before deciding to dine here.

Went in for dinner. Had the Buddha plate. It was pretty good but is better with the duck sauce. The wonton are REALLY good. The spring rolls were ok. It was mainly cabbage and no other veggies and very bland in my opinion. The jasmine tea was good. The warmth was perfect for the cold atmosphere. Waitress Julie was really cool. Great atmosphere. Wish they had booths.

Ordered an appetizer that they were tryna give me AFTER the main dish. Young lady didn’t seem to respectfully understand the concept of an “appetizer “ and kept implying that I just needed to “box it up and take it with me” , assuming I can just eat it when I return to work. Noticed some dirty looks from staff after I said, don’t bring it out at this point and I’m not paying for an “appetizer” that’s being sent out as a desert. I ordered “shrimp” fried rice. With all due integrity, there were literally THREE small shrimps in the rice. Three. Boneless chicken was over battered and kinda salty. Just passing through for a two week training and revisiting some local spots while I’m in town. Won’t return here for any reason.

I don’t know who gave this restaurant 4.3 stars but their food is nasty. I ordered general tao’s chicken and it’s brown and nasty! I’ve always eaten general Tao’s chicken and it’s always been red and tangy with a hint of sweet. The rice is nasty as well. The people there are prejudice and put my food on the table instead of giving it to me in my hand. That food is nasty and I’ll never buy food there again uugghh!!
