About Bamboo Garden Restaurant
Bamboo Garden Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at 104 N Garrison Ave in Carthage, Missouri. As a Chinese restaurant in the Carthage area, Bamboo Garden primarily operates as a buffet, offering a selection of Chinese-American dishes for dine-in customers. For residents and visitors in Carthage seeking a Chinese buffet, Bamboo Garden provides a local option with a variety of food choices.
Based on the available online customer reviews, the experiences at Bamboo Garden Restaurant present a dichotomy, with some customers reporting positive experiences and others expressing significant dissatisfaction. One reviewer described the buffet as "great tasting" with a "nice selection." While noting that it was not a "huge" buffet, they emphasized that the quality of the food offered was "excellent." Specific dishes they enjoyed included the fried fish and egg rolls. This positive review also highlighted the "yummy soft serve ice cream" available and complimented the waitress as being "very nice," suggesting a pleasant dining experience with good food and service.
In stark contrast, another reviewer had a considerably negative experience, describing Bamboo Garden as "honestly the most depressing Chinese buffet I've ever been to." A major criticism was the perceived lack of flavor in the food, with the reviewer sarcastically suggesting that soy sauce was necessary to impart any taste. This indicates a significant concern regarding the culinary quality and seasoning of the dishes offered on the buffet. Furthermore, this reviewer reported poor initial service, stating that it took "over 10 minutes and halfway through our plates before even having someone come take our drink order." This suggests issues with the attentiveness and efficiency of the waitstaff during their visit. Despite the overall negative impression, this reviewer did concede that "the ice cream was the best part of the whole meal," echoing the positive reviewer's mention of the soft serve.
Considering these two reviews, the environment of Bamboo Garden Restaurant is not explicitly detailed. However, the mention of a waitress suggests a standard buffet setup where customers serve themselves and are attended to for drinks and other service needs. The contrasting opinions on the overall dining experience do not provide a clear picture of the restaurant's ambiance or decor. The term "depressing" used by one reviewer might indirectly suggest a less than appealing atmosphere, but this is subjective and not directly supported by concrete descriptions of the environment.
The primary service offered by Bamboo Garden Restaurant is a Chinese buffet, providing a self-serve selection of dishes. Waitstaff are present to take drink orders and presumably handle other standard restaurant service tasks. The positive review mentioned a "very nice" waitress, indicating that good service is possible. However, the negative review highlighted a significant delay in receiving initial drink service, suggesting potential inconsistencies in service quality or attentiveness, especially during busy periods or if staffing levels are inadequate.
Features of Bamboo Garden Restaurant include its Chinese buffet format, offering a variety of dishes. Specific items mentioned positively by one reviewer are the fried fish and egg rolls, along with the soft serve ice cream. The negative reviewer's comment about the lack of flavor suggests that the overall taste profile of the food might be a point of concern for some. The availability of soft serve ice cream appears to be a consistent feature noted by both reviewers, albeit with different overall dining experiences.
No specific promotional information, such as discounts on the buffet at certain times, special offers for families or groups, or featured dishes, is mentioned in the provided reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to provide details about any current promotions at Bamboo Garden Restaurant.
In conclusion, Bamboo Garden Restaurant in Carthage, MO, offers a local Chinese buffet experience with markedly different impressions from the two available customer reviews. While one customer enjoyed a tasty buffet with a nice selection, particularly the fried fish and egg rolls, and appreciated the friendly service and soft serve ice cream, another found the buffet to be "depressing" with flavorless food and poor initial service. Potential customers may want to consider these contrasting opinions when deciding whether to dine at Bamboo Garden. The availability of soft serve ice cream seems to be a consistent positive note. Great tasting buffet with nice selection. Not a huge one, but what was on it was excellent. I really liked the fried fish and egg rolls! Don’t forget the yummy soft serve ice cream! Waitress was very nice too.
Honestly the most depressing chinese buffet I've ever been to. I hope you like soy sauce if you visit because that's the only way you're getting ANY flavor on your food. And took over 10 minutes and halfway through our plates before even having someone come take our drink order. The ice cream was the best part of the whole meal.
Loved this place! We would get at least once a week take out from here while working in town. We usually got the chicken lo-mein, orange chicken (for my kid), and the broccoli beef. Plenty of food and packed with flavor! Being from Texas I sure do miss this place!
My favorite Chinese restaurant. It's fresh and always delicious.
~65% of the buffet items were at near room temperature like the heater wasn't even turned on. After getting a plate of mostly cold food I observed when fresh was brought from kitchen and this was tasteful and totally acceptable. True we visited ~3:00pm but that is no excuse for room temperature food.
