About Bamboo Cafe

Bamboo Cafe is a Chinese restaurant located at 663 Washington St in Norwood, Massachusetts. Serving the local community and visitors in the 02062 area, they can be contacted at (781) 551-5858 or via their mobile number +1 781-551-5858. As a Chinese restaurant, Bamboo Cafe likely offers a menu featuring a variety of traditional and perhaps some contemporary Chinese dishes, catering to different tastes and preferences.

Based on the limited customer reviews available, there are contrasting opinions regarding the food quality and specific offerings at Bamboo Cafe. One reviewer had a positive experience, mentioning that the food was "well prepared and tasted delicious." This suggests that Bamboo Cafe has the capability to provide satisfying Chinese cuisine that meets customer expectations in terms of flavor and preparation.

This positive review also provided specific details about a lunch special. The reviewer tried a dish referred to as "B11" (though they were not entirely certain of the number), which consisted of shrimp (four pieces) and vegetables. They also ordered chicken teriyaki with white rice as part of the lunch special. Importantly, they noted that their visit was before 3 pm, allowing them to take advantage of the lunch special, which was reasonably priced at under $10 and offered a suitable portion size. This indicates that Bamboo Cafe offers lunch specials, likely with adjusted pricing and portion sizes, making it an affordable option for midday meals.

The availability of lunch specials can be a significant draw for local users, particularly those working or residing in the Norwood area who are looking for a reasonably priced and convenient midday meal. The mention of specific dishes like shrimp and vegetables, as well as chicken teriyaki, gives potential customers an idea of some of the offerings they might find on the lunch menu.

However, a more critical review raises concerns specifically about the sushi offered at Bamboo Cafe. The reviewer explicitly states that they "never ever write bad reviews" but felt compelled to warn people about their experience with the sushi. They describe the sushi as falling apart and tasting like "cardboard dipped in spicy mayo." This is a strong negative assessment, suggesting significant issues with the quality and preparation of their sushi. This feedback should be taken seriously by potential customers who might be considering ordering sushi from Bamboo Cafe.

The stark contrast between the positive feedback on the Chinese dishes (shrimp and vegetables, chicken teriyaki) and the highly negative feedback on the sushi suggests a potential inconsistency in the quality or focus across different types of cuisine offered at Bamboo Cafe. It is possible that their strength lies in their traditional Chinese dishes, while their sushi offerings may not meet the same standards.

Without further information, it is difficult to ascertain the full extent of Bamboo Cafe's menu. However, it is common for Chinese restaurants in the United States to also offer some Japanese dishes like sushi, catering to a broader range of customer preferences. The feedback here indicates that while their Chinese food might be well-received, the same might not be true for their sushi.

Regarding the environment and services at Bamboo Cafe, the provided reviews offer limited insights. The positive review focuses primarily on the food and the lunch special pricing, without mentioning the ambiance or the service. Similarly, the negative review concentrates solely on the quality of the sushi and does not provide any information about the restaurant's atmosphere or the service experience.

To gain a better understanding of the environment of Bamboo Cafe, local users might look for external photos of the restaurant or seek reviews on other platforms that might comment on the decor, cleanliness, and overall ambiance. Information about the services offered, such as dine-in, takeout, or delivery, is also not explicitly mentioned in these reviews. Typically, a Chinese restaurant would offer at least dine-in and takeout options, and some might also provide delivery services, especially in densely populated areas like Norwood.

Features of Bamboo Cafe that can be inferred from the reviews include the availability of lunch specials before 3 pm, offering reasonably priced meals with decent portions. Their menu includes at least dishes like shrimp and vegetables, chicken teriyaki with white rice, and a selection of sushi. The positive review suggests that their well-prepared Chinese dishes can be a highlight. However, the poor review of the sushi is a significant point to consider.

There is no promotional information available in the provided text beyond the mention of the affordable lunch specials. Local users might want to check for any current promotions or discounts by contacting the restaurant directly or looking at online listings or social media pages, if available.

For local users in Norwood considering Bamboo Cafe, the available information suggests that their Chinese lunch specials might be a good option for an affordable and tasty meal. However, those interested in ordering sushi should be aware of the negative feedback received regarding its quality. It would be advisable to seek additional reviews or perhaps inquire directly with the restaurant about their sushi preparation and quality if this is a primary interest.

In conclusion, Bamboo Cafe in Norwood is a Chinese restaurant that offers well-prepared Chinese cuisine, including affordable lunch specials available before 3 pm. While one customer found their Chinese meal delicious and reasonably portioned, another had a very negative experience with the sushi, describing it as poor in both texture and taste. Local users should consider this contrasting feedback when deciding on their order and may want to explore further reviews to get a more comprehensive picture of the overall dining experience at Bamboo Cafe.

A friend introduced me to this restaurant. It did not disappoint. The food was well prepared and tasted delicious. Tried the B11 (if i remember the number correctly), but it was the shrimp(4 pieces) and vegetables and i took chicken teriyaki with white rice. It was before 3pm, so i got the lunch special which was a reasonable portion for under $10.

I never ever right bad reviews, but I feel I should warn people as far as the sushi goes. First it completely falls apart. When you finally get it in your mouth it tastes like cardboard dipped in spicy mayo.

I honestly don't know how this grease spoon has so many positive reviews because every time I've ordered from this place it's been a total nightmare. First of all, the food is not fresh and everything is soaked in this nasty oil that I can't figure out what it is for the life of me. I ordered shrimp lo mien from them and got 2 whole shrimp in the entire dish with a few limp overcooked greens to give it "color" I'm assuming. Horrible. I then made the mistake of trying them again and ordered veggie curry. They couldn't understand that I didn't want any meat in it and insisted on tofu but all I wanted was some veggies in curry sauce, easy right? Not for these folks. What I received was a bowl of steamed veggies swimming in the most artificial oil I have ever had meet my lips. My boyfriend who eats everything could only take one bite and he said "trash it" I called and very politely told them about my oily dish and the woman ARGUED with me! I finally had to say, "I don't want to argue, I just want to tell you that I ordered a dish that I was hoping to enjoy and didn't." She then went on to say that if I return the entire portion she will CONSULT with her boss to see if I am applicable for a $10 refund. GASP! Is this really how this place runs their business???? Believe me, there are PLENTY of other places in Norwood to order delicious food that is 10000 times better, less expensive and WITHOUT the conceded attitude!!!
